Superfund sites: Toxic chemicals and massive sites of pollution that can sit for years on years while companies and the government battle over responsibility. While they are in the courtroom, damages to the environment and human health in the surrounding areas of the site suffer. Where are these Superfund sites, and what is being done about them? Produced, and directed by Dan Kurtz, Christina B...

Was the other site that helped start the Superfund program the “Valley of the drums” in Bullit county Kentucky?

So many things people don’t know about. How the entire state of Michigan was poisoned by PBB during the 1970’s. I still have a high level in my blood and was never able to have kids. I’m surrounded by PFOS dumps that we just found out about a few years ago (and we have well water). All of the people who developed cancer around the Santa Susana Test Site north of Los Angeles.

Nothing happens to the waste, it is here forever and sometimes relocates. We need to stop making waste.

Not only did the City of Niagara Falls know about the dumping of chemicals in Love's canal but it was a garbage dump never actually filled with water just a ditch but the city baught it from the chemical company and was warned about what was buried there the city then built a school on top then houses no joke they are the real criminals.

People want to yell about problems all day long but they don’t wanna give us any solutions. OK fine will clean everything up. Producing machinery that’s efficient and needed for productivity in our Konomi. What are you gonna give us want to stop making those machines stop producing those chemicals All I hear are complaints I don’t hear any solutions

So the rich can live a life of luxury in their private airliners and a giant mansion put the little people like us we have to worry about conserving, right I don’t think that’s correct

WHY ARE THESE COMPANIES STILL OPERATING!!!

  • @theurbanthirdhomestead

I think we're in hell. Something is very wrong here. A corporation chooses to make money creating nuclear bombs for a war I don't even want us to fight, and when their waste ponds leak into the soil and the water, and the corporation ditches the site, I have to pay to clean it up, and I'm the one who's sick because I lIve downstream, down the mountain, from the site. Now the corporation is back in my state operating as usual, making new bombs, even though they never cleaned up their last mess. THIS IS HELL.

It's not us. This is what people need to understand. We're victims. We're slaves. We're being poisoned. All we can do is turn to God and beg Him to make it stop.

Found this after looking into the recent disaster in Ohio and man, it's chilling when the expert mentions chlorine as one of the worst possible contaminates

That's kind of where I started too. I was looking into purchasing a gorgeous property with irrigation shares. Then I saw the railroad. After finding out who owned it, and who owned them, and who owned those owners, it all went back to blackrock and vanguard. Then I thought, well, maybe it's not hazardous waste. I followed the tracks upstream, up the mountain, and there I found the cotter corporation's superfund site for radioactive groundwater contamination. I'm devastated that this keeps happening. We are living in a sort of hell, where we have little to no control over what they do to us.

What would a mass dumping of diethyltoluamide have any sort of lasting environmental/human health consequences? I know that the EPA has been cracking down on how much DEET can be legally distributed to bug spray manufacturers.

I can remember being a kid walking with my grandpa and him showing me toxic barrels of hexavalent chromium out at Spencer Park in Belvidere IL we always stayed far away but you could see the chemicals on the ground and leaking from the barrels and there was nothing but sand all the plants and animals were gone from the aera it has since been cleaned up but in some areas the earth is still scared to this day and it's all fenced off for safety

Who can I contact about a superfund site that made myself and other terminally ill. 2 I personally knew died from mysterious (idiopathic) diseases. Myself & another lady I worked closely with are barely hanging on for life. I've already contacted the government agency who currently owns and supposedly "cleaned up" the site. But I remember watching rhe clean up and looking back, I realize it wasn't cleaned up at all. In fact, it was covered up. I NEED help with this!! Please if you can direct me to anyone who will listen to my story, I'm certain the contamination is still there. In fact, I have proof, but that wasn't enough for them to open an official investigation on the matter. Meanwhile, my 16 year old son has had to watch is mother die a slow and extremely painful existence...never knowing if we're going to get to celebrate another birthday or Christmas together. I'm all he has & they don't even care 😢 The facility is located in a low income, poverty, high crime area. Please help if you can, I'm running out of time and ideas to make them listen to me and do something about it...

We really need to wake up to our controllers. Smh

The EPA is nothing but a bunch of bureaucracy that has done nothing more than waste taxpayer money and even helped some of these polluters cover up the polluting. Government bureaucracy is never the solution to these kinds of problems.
