มุมมอง 1.3K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Hi welcome to my journey to jaw surgery!! I have a class 3 bite and will be getting double jaw surgery, internal nose scrapping (to help with breathing) and chin reduction. Everything I’ve had done up until now: -Palette expander -retainer -retainer with fake teeth -braces (2 years) -tooth buildup -gum laser removal surgery -invisiline -now jaw surgery (first ever real surgery and time at hospi...
Damn she was fine as hell even before the surgery
What about plates and screws in the jaw? Do they stay in place for life?
If you want to you can have another surgery to take them out after some time but otherwise they stay for life
Where did you get that tongue scraper?
Any drug store / pharmacy, grocery, dollar store or your dentist office can supply them! Or can order online I’m sure, they’re easy to find.
@@mackenzieringrose In stores and online they only have types like spoons
This looks great for you!! I’m 2 weeks post-op for double jaw surgery and am nervous my face will always look strange like this haha!
Thank you for this video. The first video I can relate to. I'm at week 4, amd I'm starting to feel a lot of pain because the numbness is going.
Thank you for making all of these videos! Im an anxious person so your videos help me a lot❤️❤️❤️
Where did you have surgery?
which Dr or hospital did you use? Would you recommend them to others based on your experience? TIA
thanks for sharing your journey, it really helps people who are going through a similar situation! 😊
Thanks for sharing. Im having DJS soon (Feb or March). Silly question, could you taste your food after surgery? Asking bc i gag when taking liquid medicine but if you cant open your mouth to take a pill, i may have to? But if i cant taste it maybe itll help? 😅😢
No blood! However, since you are on a liquid diet for 4-6 weeks in most cases, you are drinking liquid through a syringe most days along with medicine through those syringes. If this seems to be an issue for you I would discuss further with your surgeon. But every case is different, that is just how I had to eat. See my earlier videos, I show how I had to eat. Thanks for the comment!
@mackenzieringrose thanks for the response, yes my surgeon said I will eating the same as you for a few weeks. Uuugh so liquid meds it is, lets hope I don't gag in a closed mouth 🤮🤮😫 just thinking about it turns my stomach lol. I binged your videos, you look great (also looked great before, but I understand, people keep questioning why I'm going through with it ). Appreciate you sharing your journey
@@tanishab-qp4jpOmg good luck! I'm just over 4 weeks post op, in regards to taking liquid medication, you can taste it BUT if you pinch your nostrils you can't - that's something that I did and it helped. There is light at the end of the tunnel, you'll be fab xxx
Thank you for this video, I’m currently 2 weeks in and so fed up of eating soup and not sleeping well 😌 it’s good to look at videos like this and see other people’s journeys .
before and after both were beautiful profile
Your sister is so helpful omg you are so lucky to have her❤
i’m day 13 rn , my face is sooo numb, it feels exhausted 24/7
How did you handle not laughing out loud? I might get surgery and I have a laughing syndrome so….I’m scared of undoing the treatment
Omg thank you for this video ! I’m getting the surgery soon !!!
did you get it done yet? share some updates please!
Fabulous
Thanks for the update, I’m just starting the process so it’s really helpful. You look absolutely gorgeous.
Would love an update video of how you are now if you have time please. I’m Just beginning the journey so videos are really helpful. Thanks :)
I have posted a one year since video ! I hope things are going well in your recovery:) my video shared some good tips that could help:) thanks for watching
Love, love your videos !!! Currently on 8 days post op of my double jaw surgery. Your progress gives me hope ! & I hope you get better soon
I am so happy I am able to help!! I will be posting some new content soon updating how I am doing and what helped me, as well as what I struggled and am struggling with. Stay tuned and hopefully I can continue to help!
Good luck with your recovery. Can you please answer a question? It has been almost 4 weeks since i got this similar surgery, and still feeling dizziness, experiencing vertigo especially when I wake up in the morning. Did you have such experience? When was it over? Thanks
I’m so sorry, I honestly was not able to view this comment until now! I know it’s been 4 months, so I’m hoping your experiences got better! I experienced that only for the first week or so. I hope you are doing well. Keep being patient !!
I am 12 days post-op and just had a small identity crisis because I don't look at all like myself. Like I cannot recognise myself in the mirror. And so I came to TH-cam to find others who are going through this. Thank you for reminding me focus on the longterm. My swelling is so intense.
I’m so glad I could help!! How are you doing now after 4 months? I will be posting some new content soon. Including a 6 month post op, how I’m doing now and what I am still struggling with. Follow along to see if I can help you in any other ways!:)
Hope you feel better soon
How much was the surgery? i have a underbite and im looking to get this surgery when u turn 18
It all depends on your exact surgery, surgeon and location! Everyone is different and different offices have different rates. Especially if some do it within their office versus in the hospital.
I'm planning to get my surgery this winter and trying to figure out how much time to take off for recovery. How long are you taking off from work/school? Thanks! And good luck with the solid foods!
I took off 6 weeks just because I am currently serving and doing that with your mouth elasticed shut does not work. Depends on what your doctor said but mine said 6 weeks at least
Hope your swelling goes down quick. Have you used jade rollers?
I have an ice pack face roller that feels amazing!
Im on day 9 today I feel pretty much fine but I’m just hungry and I already lost over 8 pounds. 🥲
You're looking great! Thank you for sharing ☺️
Hiii omg I’m so glad I found your videos! I literally just had my double jaw surgery done on Monday and I’m dying. Like these past few days have been the worst (I now see why day 3-4 is the worst) and I regret even getting it done and it’s like when will things even get better. Seeing your videos are helping a lot! I wanted to ask, around what day would you say you were feeling a little bit more able to do things like you normally would?
Hi! I’m so glad they are helping! I watched tons and I found tips from videos helped me through it even more. I just hit two weeks today and I’ll be honest, I’m still working through being tired and sore. But I got my surgery on a Wednesday, and by the Saturday I was feeling slightly better. However, it took about 8-9 days after for me to be able to walk around and talk a bit better and feel more like myself. Just try to get as much rest and fluids as you can to get through the first week! Once you hit like 10 days, it starts to get more manageable!! Get through the first week and you’ll start seeing better improvements:) Thanks for asking the question, I appreciate that you like the video!! We got this, it’ll all be worth it in the end:)
@@mackenzieringrose How old are you?
Wow MacKenzie! We are on different journeys right now, but your strength is amazing and inspiring! Thanks for posting <3 Sending over a huge hug!
Thanks Tracy!! Thought it’d be more fun and make it a easier recovery doing something like this!! Big hugs back, thinking of you always, we love you! Xo
