Passionate about diving and underwater filming, also underwater search and recovery, reuniting people with lost items.
Dive into Preston Hill Quarry 2024. See stolen cars, sunken boats, dumped bikes and lost GoPros.
Preston Hill Quarry was an active site quarrying dolerite stone from its cliff sides up until 1980.
Over the years it has filled with rain water and is now just over 11 metres in depth.
My first dive at this site was in 1987.

Some clips put together of our diving trip to South Africa and Mozambique. Sharks we encountered included sand tiger, white tip, black tip, hammerhead, copper and tiger sharks! Music credit goes to one of my favourite 90,s bands Primal Scream with their song “Movin on Up”
Diving the WW2 ship wreck SS Thistlegorm, Red Sea Egypt.

The SS Thistlegorm was a British cargo steamship. It was sunk by a German bomber aircraft in the Red Sea in 1941. We dived with Emperor divers aboard the liveaboard Emperor Superior.

Powmill Quarry is situated near the village of Powmill, Perthshire Scotland. This former rock quarry has filled with rain water over the years and is now just over 12 metres deep. For years it has been used as a dumping ground for motor cars and other discarded items.

Strange seeing what looks like a whole Mackerel on the bottom, a Sea fish in a freshwater quarry lake, how odd.
Those 4 saws looked really odd. All the same in the same place. What were they last used for? Red Rum? Or what or whom? 14.02. The upside down car is Ford Sierra
Magnet fishers nightmare
That one car eas a saab
In 1974, a friend's AMC Gremlin vehicle fell into the southern branch of the Elizabeth River, Portsmouth, Virginia.
It fell in I’m to the river, did they leave the parking brake off?
Wow is this in England
It’s in Scotland.
What a disgraceful state it's in.
In a few Hundred or more years, someone will "Discover" that this was a Quarry and for some reason, used as a dumping pit. they will spend decades uncovering the layers of junk.
Incredibly sad that people have no conscience about dumping things into waterways.
@@abpob6052 Yeah agreed . There is now a locked gate in place to restrict access to the site, this has stopped people dumping rubbish.
They must have left the fridge at home
Wow, very cool! So much shit was tossed in there!
@@IslandTides Yeah you never know what you will come across one dive to the next. Thanks for the sub. 🤙💦
Couple of classic bmx down there , prob worth a few bob even in that condition
@@MyPhilw Yeah not a bike guy so wouldn’t know a good one from the scrap, will take a closer look next time. Cheers for watching. 🤙💦
Was there any pike down there
@@jamessamuel6187 Not seen any pike in a while, maybe all fished out, or really good a hiding.
Fair few redfin perch by the looks.
@@tinkertailor7385 There is pal, this is a shoal of roach you see in the video but yeah there are plenty perch in there too!
Was that a giant spider on the bow of that boat lol very cool 👍
It is lol 😂 Thanks for watching
Looks like a giant tarantula!
Man so cool! THanks for taking us with you
@@SaltwaterSean Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching! 💦
When I saw that dead fish i thought it was the pike .
It was a mackerel, probably caught then released into the quarry, wouldn’t have lasted long.
Nice meeting you yesterday Sunday . I change my name and logo thanks 🙏. Nice video I have only dive there once vis was rubbish didn’t see any seals . . Club dive in November. wish I could go sooner .
@@SCUBASTEVE_12 Yes mate good to meet you too, glad I could help with the name change 😃 Think best time for the seals is later on in the year when pups have had all summer to get used to seeing divers, they are more playful.
@@divexplore71 I went with SCUBASTEVE but so many similar names so decided just to keep it . But change the logo . Good to know hopefully will see them if the trip goes ahead (weather) hopefully see you in the near future 👍
Love the video, quick couple of questions, how do you get in to it ? I looked on google earth and there is a gate you can’t get a car through? And how deep is that Audi 80? Gonna sell it to an idiot on auto trader. Cheers
The council put a locked gate in place to stop people fly tipping. The Audi is sitting at 11 metres. Thanks for watching, glad you liked it. I am in the process of making a return video.
Very cool to see what’s down there in your video! It looks like a spooky dive
Yeah it has that feel about it, thanks for watching man! 🤙💦
Hi there, awesome video loved watching it. Quick question, what full face masks are you both wearing ? I’m looking to get one
Hey thank you! It’s the Interspiro Mk2 divator or aga mask.
Much appreciated, Would you recommend the full face masks?
I normally dive at Preston quarry . looks like you have new cars not like Preston 😂
I need to pay a visit to this site 👍
You will have the place to yourself, great wee dive! 🤙💦
Which tour company you went through?
Wicked video love to see more of the cars 👍👍👍😜🏴🦕🦄😁🤞✌️
Thanks man, yeah I have plans to go back there and focus more on the cars, there’s about 20 dumped in there!!! 🤙💦
@@divexplore71 that would be cool Iv always wanted to dive the place but the walk up hill would kill me lol 👍👍👍😜🏴🦕🦄😁🤞✌️
wow! amazing experience.. nice wreckage u went to more power!!
Hey thanks for watching, yes it was a great wreck dive, one of the best in the world! 🤙💦
Hey thanks for watching, yes it was a great wreck dive, one of the best in the world! 🤙💦
Incredible!!
Beautiful water, be nice to know background why sunk, why guns/ammo, truck motorcycle. But very clear water, at 105 feet though, air tank watching for fast breathers would have to monitor gauges carefully.
If you google SS Thistlegorm you can get all the history on the wreck. Yes at these depths you have to be vigilant on depth and air. Glad you liked the video, thanks for watching! 🤙💦
What a truly epic dive and experience with the sharks
Amazing footage, diving with sharks is still open on my list!
Yours is also a nice video of this brilliant wreck
is diving still allowed?
Yeah anyone can still dive there!
There’s a massive pike in there
There is indeed, it’s scared me a few times!
Back in my high school days, my friends and I used to go camping up there during the summer holidays. You can actually see a lot of the wrecks from the surface. It's amazing how clear the water is, considering all the junk that's down there. Nice to finally see them up close !
Yeah there are some interesting old cars and motorbikes in there!
Great video... Looks like a difficult location to get too!
Yeah it’s a bit of a trek to get there, worth it though as I usually have the place to myself.
You used to be able to drive up pretty close to it. Haven't been up there for about 20 years, so don't know if that's still the case. It's just that not many people know about it and the turn off from the main road is pretty obscured, so it's easy to miss.
Why are there so many cars in the lake? greetings from Germany
The cars are most likely stolen and dumped. Joy riders, people dumping them for insurance fraud. Greetings also! 🤙💦
It's crazy
Another great video, so many tyres and bits of scrap
Iv followed you on Instagram for a while and I’d like to say Iv thoroughly enjoyed watching that, it’s strange to see old cars at the bottom of a quarry
Thanks @robyngrewar7666 glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching! 👍
Looks like a bit of a hike in ,but your own private dive spot
Few insurance jobs in there huh? Lol
Yup, probably! Lol
cracking video, thanks
Dumping ground, never realised so many cars were under there, n the ole speedboat lol
New subscriber, looking forward to seeing your videos, very interesting dive spot
