It is all free in Turkey not for only citizens, also for immigrants and tourists. Even if you go for private hospital, the emergency treatment is free because we had it enough as people. I remember in 90s and before, we were seeing news everyday that people have died looking for emergency treatment because hospitals were not accepting the patients in, telling a lie as "there is no free bed" but actually they did not wanted to take the patient whom does not have insurance. So patient were dying on the roads, looking for any hospital to take them in. It seems US citizens are not had it enough yet, and they still vote for criminally unreasonable paid health care. If you ask Americans, they act like first class world citizen, praise the freedom and democracy, talk about universal human rights, but states behave their own citizens like a shit and piggybank. If US media doesn't think it is abnormal to not treat people without money and let them die, it means people doesn't think it is abnormal too, so they don't make news out of it. And it means they think people deserve to die if they don't have money. Any civilized nation cannot accept such a thing.
