Definitely crazy! But so cool. Our neighbor didn't even know it was a prop from "The Silence of the Lambs" until we bought the house and told him. Lol it's his summer property but he now embraces it and even has a still from the movie hanging on it.

I figured the entire interior was a movie set. Didn't realize they actually filmed inside a real house. Except the basment in the movie is obviously a set as it looks like a maze in the movie.
Hi! Yes, they filmed in the house. It stops at the wall with the multiple doors after Clarice goes down the basement stairs. They built the wall with the doors in our basement. In order to get people to feel like they are in the movie, you have to keep it the same and most importantly build that basement the same way, then you will get your money's worth.

This was a great idea Chris. As soon as this happens I will be there. I am only about 5 hours away in Virginia, so this would be an awesome experience. I actually worked with the director of SOTL, Jonathan Demme, on Bruce Springsteen's "Streets Of Philadelphia" music video, and he was such a cool guy to work with.
Hey John! Working hard everyday to get Buffalo Bill's House ready to open for guests to enjoy an immersive horror experience! That is so cool you worked with Jonathan Demme! Fun Fact: Demme was a bigtime train/railroad enthusiast, and went on many of the location scouts personally, while searching for the perfect home for Buffalo Bill. When he realized there was a railroad near the property, he gave the green light for the home to be used! You can see the railroad in the establishing shot when Clarice first pulls up the the house!
