Advent - Light-Bearers
We, who follow Jesus, are salt and light.
He has given us principles to live by and tells us we are salt and light.
We are called to be pure in heart, merciful, ready to grieve what needs to be grieved, gentle, humble, hungry and thirsty for God, and peacemakers.
I note that Jesus doesn’t say, if you do these things, you are salt and light.
He simply says, you are salt and light.
How are you and I bringing out the God-colours in the world around us right now?

Beautiful job. And beautiful clock! I'm in the process of buying one very similar. Mid 1700s. Just a little tip to avoid future accidents. Secure the clock to the wall. Can use a small hook in the wall and tie a wire on it and the wire can be tied or secured to the back of the clock. So if it's ever inclined to tip over again it won't. Unfortunately many clocks have been destroyed by tipping over.
Wow beautiful job! What do you recommend using to clean the brass dial?
Hi. Thank you for your comment. For cleaning the brass, I used Brasso. However, 250years of tarnish was difficult to remove. So I used fine brass wire brush, (toothbrush size) with Brasso. Also a fine brush on the Dremel machine was also helpful for those tiny intricate areas. The trick is to lightly remove the tarnish without scoring the brass too much. Finally, polish up the brass and then a light coat of clear lacquer for brass will help to preserve the shine. Hope this helps. Ross
