Unboxing superstar V6 hubs
Just received these new bike hubs for a new wheel build. I usually buy hope stuff but They seem like a good alternative and cost half the price! They are also claimed to be made in the UK. What’s not to dislike? If you have any questions leave it in the comments. I’ll keep you updated with how they get on.

Unboxing an exotic carbon fibre mtb fork
มุมมอง 2.3K5 ปีที่แล้ว
I’m building up an old XC bike into a fully rigid gravel and touring monster. The forks on the bike were heavy so I decided to buy some rigid carbon forks from the brand Exotic. My first impressions are good. I’ll check in when the bike is built to let you know how they ride. Comment if you have any questions and I’ll try to answer them.

After having several cheap Chinese lights that broke and didn't retain charge I decided to fork out the extra cash and get a hope light. It certainly has that factory bling about it.

    Done this in the 1960s with 2 wooden framed stretch canvas canoes, 2 of us, one in a single seater and one in a 2 seater, both very heavy and we paddled all the way into the Trent by clifton bridge

    How have these held up over the last couple of years? Thinking of setting a set and building up some wheels for my hardtail as 26" wheelsets dont seem to exist anymore.

    Hi, how do the v6 hubs compared to hope pro 2 evo?

    • @javelin1701
      @javelin1701 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, the finish of the anodizing and the design/ servicing are very similar. The end caps for the front hub are a little loose in comparison to pro 2s. Probably not as noisy as the pro II either. I plan to do a more long term review in a couple of months, be sure to watch.

    • @javelin1701

      Hi I also have an exposure light and they are brilliant! I usually run handlebar front light and smaller light on the helmet for riding trails in the dark.

    Downtube shifting? What's it like? :D

    • @javelin1701
      @javelin1701 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      One bike I built was a fixie ( so not downtube shifters to contend with). The other bike had downtube shifters. It can be a bit fiddly finding the gear and its pretty much impossible to change gear if you are going for it hard up a hill.

    I built up a steel framed 1985 Schwinn Tempo with modern compact gearing, but it still has friction shifting. I ride it more than my modern Felt carbon bike. Steel is real!!!

  • @muddy458

    The Claud Butler is so cool. From the comments it was stolen? Looks like a more modern crankset and mtb pedals. What was the running gear? And SICK colour!!!

    • @javelin1701
      @javelin1701 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, yes it was stolen. You haven't seen it about? it had more modern groupset parts; ultegra cranks, 600 arabesque downtube shifters, dura ace front and rear derraileurs and I think a 5 speed freewheel casette on old maillard hubs with rigida rims.

    Did that today! One of the best Rides I think I have ever done!How can there be so little climbing compared to the mass of wonderful downhill?!?!I don't know if everyone knows but this ride passes within an inch of the Lady Canning Go Outdoor track! ( only managed one go at it, nearly killed me.... Well worth a look, just don't be tempted to spend all day there and miss this awesome ride!)

  • @greensaturated2084

    Not worth the money buddy. Looked cool when first seen on Sturges vid but once everyone knows how it's its done the novelty wears off. Best just having a GoPro on helmet and a guy on the bank with a decent zoomable camera then edit the two together. Your Nevis video rocks btw. More G4+ river running I say!
