John, Alex, Jones created Rush. Jones left, Geddy join. John left, Neil join.
Shit, Rutsey was garbage.
I see Geddy took to the jazz Fender bass guitar early on

Very cool, I honestly cant remember if John was in the band or Neil when I had seem Rush in concert 74 in So. Cal. I know the Rush album was already out!
Just Awesome. This lineup and album were my introduction to Rush in the 70's and absolutely no disrepect to later work (love it) but this will always be my favourite go to album.
When I hear old Rush I think of driving my ‘63 Impala with my Pioneer 8 track as loud as it will go.
Seems like all the vocalists in these power groups had very high voices. Very nice song.
Met John a couple of times in Windsor Ontario, always got the beers in
I think these guys might have potential.
One of greatest band of all time.
* * * * * Eita bailão retado da poha!!!!
It’s been 16 years since Mr.Rutsey has past May 11 th , he was a good rock drummer wish he would of done more after leaving RUSH
I remember being barely 8 years old and was with my mom at my aunt's house. My older cousin, who was around 15-16 years old, was playing his guitar in his room. I wouldn't recognize the riff for about another 5-6 years, but he was playing this song.
Wow John sped the song up A LOT.
My God! Can you imagine seeing that live ? Lol so good
Alex started it off at one tempo and once the drums came in the tempo sped WAY up. Not hating, just an observation. Sorry to hear John passed away.....he and Alex kept in touch years after, I guess John got into bodybuilding due to some health problems (the reason why he had to quit)
Even wihtout neil, it is still rush. I bet party boy jones regrests wanting to go to that shindig now, lmfao.
Where was the location of this footage exactly ? I saw them at Woburn & Cedarbrae collegiate in 1974.
Can you imagine if they didn't have musical differences and John had stayed with the band all these years. Then everyone would have worshiped him and say he was the only drummer qualified to play with the band.
Great call, Rutsey was good too. But let's face it, Neil RULED Working Man...
Who else is here after reading the book😂
What book?
The Rutsey/Peart situation for Rush is much like the Barrett/Gilmour situation with Pink Floyd. We'd not have the bands without them, but wouldn't have the modern versions with them. Important players in music history, to not be forgotten.

Rush Working Man the best ever
Mr. Theodore "The Hunter" Anthony Nugent ⚡️🔥🎸⚡️🔥🎸⚡️🔥🎸⚡️🔥🎸⚡️🔥🎸⚡️ Mr. Barry Sparks on bass 🎸⚡️🔥💪😎🤘 Mr. Mick Brown on drums 🥁⚡️🔥💪😎🤘
Not to be that guy, but His tempo is all over the place
Erm.... Well that you are that guy.....
No one can sing this song like Derek Saint Holmes. I like the band best with Derek in it.

These guys were like 20 or 21 here? Already showing signs of superstardom. They were like a very young Cream.
Batera casca grossa ☠️ todos casca grossa.

Richard W. Stone replies , For all you awesome 👍😎 ❤️BIG HEARTS 💕
Too Long song.
John's leaving changed music in Canada forever.
Since 3:35 min is pure rock, pure energy, pure RUSH! IS THE BEST BAND OF ALL TIMES.
He killed it man, yes a different style but still just as good!!
Dude is playing a 4 piece kit compared to Neils huge kit and killing it, more isn’t always better, but in Neil’s case it was, rip Neil!
❤❤❤❤❤
IMHO, one of the best guitar solos there is!
Alex IMO did his best work and sound on a Gibson ES-335 very evident here and proof of it live.
Compared to the final rendition , Alex was all over the place in this.
The song that started it all and the song that ended it all, fitting.
Thank you Budgie for being the inspiration behind Rush. If there was no Budgie, there would be no Rush.
From Siouxsie? But Rush came first.
They were so much better then.
i love how gene simmons was like "RUSH that's our kind of band..." this rest is kisstory lol Would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when gene heard rush!
