Bionic Smile Care Instructions
All Bionic Smile patients need to be aware of how to take care of their Temporary Teeth during the healing stage. These Temporary Teeth are designed to last up to 6 (six) months without issue as long as you follow these steps to ensure proper implant healing.
Since vour temporary teeth are placed at the time of surgery, they are specifically designed to be strong and durable to protect the implants. It is very IMPORTANT that your temporary teeth do not crack or break due to your negligence or poor care.
If you break your temporary, a single arch replacement will be made at a Cost of $500 due at the time of your appointment. Each Additional replacement will be billed accordingly
Basic Maintenance:
1. In the First 6 Weeks, gentle rinses with warm salt water twice a day will help heal the gums faster. Tilt your head side to side for best results. Do not swish your rinses as this may cause damage to your tissues, grafts and or implants.
2. After 6 (SIX weeks of healing, purchase a WaterPik with an IMPLANT attachment to help keep the area between vour gums and the temporary clean. Use this Twice Daily to ensure gums and implants are clean.
3. DO NOT use any kind of Toothpaste. If you feel any food stuck to the temporary use a toothbrush for Baby Teeth to gently remove any food. After 6 (SIX weeks of healing, you can rinse and gargle to remove any food debris.
4. Use the UltraSoft Nightguard provided to you every night to prevent clenching and or damage to the temporary and implants.
Eating Recommendations:
1. We highly recommend a soft food diet immediately after surgery. Cold Drinks like Protein Shakes, Smoothies and Juices are ideal during the initial healing stage. We recommend drinks to be lukewarm or room temperature to reduce the risk of fracture of the temporary.
2. For more solid foods, you can have anything you can cut up with a Plastic Fork to cut up food into smaller pieces to make biting and chewing easier.
3. Avoid BITING into the following food during your healing stage:
a. Nuts, Seeds, Crunchy Fried Food, Soft Breads and Bagels.
b. Avoid Granola Bars, Ribs or Meats on the Bone, Corn on the Cob or whole apples
c. NO GUM, Toffee or Caramel, Jaw Breakers and or Jolly Ranchers or Starbursts.
d. Do not eat Salads, Sandwiches, Quesadillas, Burgers & Pizza
Rinses:
Best Rinses to use at any time is Warm Salt Water or CloSYS rinses. If you want to refresh your mouth, using the following non-alcohol based rinses are also recommended:
Thera Breath, Act Non-Alcoholic, Crest Non-Alcoholic & Listerine Non Alcoholic.
