Designed to be layered with any other fragrance, this aroma-chemical enhancer can help to enliven or create space when sprayed over any single oil or fragrance - as the name suggests it will give your fragrance a certain je ne sais quoi. Mixed Emotions - Byredo | Review

Mixed Emotions is a scent designed to reflect the tumultuous nature of our times-a distillation of highs and lows, mirroring unstable realities and a world in flux. Comforting notes of maté and the sharp sweetness of cassis sit among wooden notes; the reassuring scent of black tea colliding with violet leaf synthetics. A refreshing reminder that it is okay to not be okay. Fragrance notes Maté, ...

Black Lacquer - Tom Ford | Review

Black Lacquer shines with two exclusive innovations in modern perfumery: an incandescent black lacquer accord that captures a smoky, dimensional opulence, and a Makassar ebony wood note that evokes aspects of leather and birch. Beneath the glossy surface blooms the irrepressible mystery of a dark peony accord. A glossy, seductive amber woody scent.

Thanks for comparing it to Poets of Berlin. They’re by the same nose so I had just assumed they were super similar.
I appreciate your video, but I do find it a bit of an inconvenience due to me being in the US and expecting that you had a US "formulation"
Is this EDT or parfum?
EDT but lasts forever, they use the word "intense" after that so i assume its just below EDP %
Great review!
Thanks for watching, got 1 more Creed review coming at the end of the year!! 😊
so the new clear bottle just isnt worth it in your opinion?
Not at all unfortunately, completely different DNA altogether. They should just rename it at this point too.
@@FragranceFiend oh ok thanks was thinking of getting it as its on sale at cw but i guess ill just skip it cheers
@@OnAeeir definitely let yourself be the judge of it too! if you like it deffs go for it, it may not be what it once was but i wouldn't say there's anything too subjectively wrong with it. it is a pretty good discount though! 😁
@@FragranceFiend i dont live that close to a chemist warehouse so i was gonna have to blind buy it online but if it doesnt even really smell like fierce anymore then idk
@@OnAeeir ohhh okay, sorry to hear, id probably pass on it then i guess 🤔
Wtf is wrong with your mouth? You sound weird. 🔥
Hi. Very helpful and thorough review. I’m not sure if it’s the violet leaf or with the v.l. And suede combo, but as much as I wanted /tried to like Fahrenheit Parfum and EDT, the notes come off as “bug spray” to my nose. Have a great day.
Agreed, very accurate description now that i thinbk about it! and thank you so much for your kind words, truly means a lot. 🙂
Always good to have a "negative control" in any series of experiments 🙃, and to have a chance to calibrate the scale with a few scores well below the median. Looking forward to your next videos on some of the more exceptional scents. (Speaking of which, I sampled the four new-ish Montblanc fragrances in store today. The black one and the patchouli are rather good... if you enjoy darker scents.)
Unfortunately ive had a bit of a bad run with first impressions as of late haha! thank you so much for watching though, ill deffs have to get my nose on those by the sounds of it!!!
Unfortunately the product doesn't match the marketing in my opinion... I have a full sized bottle of Witchy Woo and I'm really not keen on it. Will probably end up selling it.
After smelling the rest of the lineup, they've become a big flop to my nose unfortunately!
This is my signature. It is fruity with some smoky and rougher vibes which is exactly what i was searching for. Something nice and unique
So glad you like it! Definitely unique which is what I appreciate about it most!
It is my favorite perfume. Problem it does not last so I had to find clones.
That’s fair! I’ve rarely gotten my nose on recent batches, what clones would you suggest?
@@FragranceFiend Rasasi Egra hands down lasts forever on clothes and it's like 7 hours on skin longest lasting of GIT clones.
@@LequipeTechnique not available locally to me sadly, I'll have to track it down one day!
@@LequipeTechnique Sounds incredible, thanks so much for the insight!
Lavande 31 is my favorite fragrance!
I’ve grown to it even more in recent months and it’s definitely climbed up my list!
Ive just added the first byredo fragrance to my sample cart, gypsy water, the name got me somehow, plus i seen it has Inscence and the only 2 fragrances i no that smell like Inscence are bdc edt and profumo and they are nice
Congrats!! Hope you like it :)
How much does a 50ml cost?
$384 AUD 😄
@@FragranceFiendthank you
My new favorite is MFK Gran Soir. As an uber driver it gets the most compliments as well as creed Centaurus.
I was pleasantly surprised with Centaurus!! An impressive left turn from the brand but definitely in the right direction. May have to get it eventually 👌🏻
I have Naxos, love it. Just blind bought Guerlain’s Lhomme I’deal Parfum. Not many reviews on it but the notes sound good. Website for guerlain pretty basic and weak but prices not bad.
Yeah unfortunately even getting my nose in Geurlan here is hard enough, and the selection is incredibly small. Let me know what you think!
I bought this one in the largest size when it came out. Never smelled like the stores in the mall, is very strong, only did one spray when I wore it. Still have it and now it’s a classic apparently. It was $350 for 200ML. Sadly I lost part of my sense of smell from covid. Just sprayed it, smells like leather…
Wow that’s incredible, I’d love to know really how different it is from the current batches. Apparently there are some clones of the original formulation but I’ve never been impressed by them. Really just want them to release the original DNA again.
Sorry about the loss of your sense of smell, Hope it fully recovers again one day!
Love it, lasts a long time, pretty sweet
One of my favorites as an uber driver it’s get me “your car smells good”. Cause i’m ugly…
Good review with great energy. Earned a sub
Thanks so much, appreciated 😊
Quality vids, fellah. Not too long and straight to the headlines, unlike a lot of other reviewers who just drone on and drift off point. Subscribed!
Thanks so much! Yeah that became the inspiration behind creating the channel, I loved watching reviews but just grew so tired of them that they seemed more about getting clicks, promoting certain brands (or being paid to), getting to the 10min mark to get on the algorithm ect. I just wanna give my humble 2 cents to the right people without screaming hyper beast mode panty dropper every 5 seconds. Much appreciated!
great review!
Thanks Christopher! Will be reviewing the rest of TLY lineup individually soon too 😄
Thanks you. I need something as strong as TF Tobacco Vanille.
Recently got 125ml for 25$ batch 6/2024 for the money it's absolutely worth it one of the best in this price range.
That’s actually insane!!! So good. I just filmed a review of Halloween Mystery? Have you tried that one yet?
@@FragranceFiend No not yet, however after getting X want to try them all. I see your Mystery review is upcoming on my yt feed. Can't wait for that one! Love unique style of your channel, def deserve way more views and subs.
@@HOTSPEEDMike Thank you so much for the kind words! really does mean a lot :) its definitely been a slower than expected climb, i saw a fragrance channel created a week ago that already has 100 subs (which took me about half a year), others for a few months have thousands. I like having a small community but my style probs doesnt fit as well into the algorithm or perhaps other youtubers get boosted since so many are paid to promote certain companies haha. Glad you liked X, Mystery doesn't beat it unfortunately!
Sheesh
😝
my favorite le labo by far, my sample laaaaaasted for ages, 12+hours on 1 spray
Love to hear it!! it’s a very impressively structured fragrance despite it not being something I’d usually wear 😊
this and poivre 23 are amazing ambers! good for winter
I've been wanting to try this one!!!
Would love to hear thoughts on the Neroli one.
definitely keen to do a review on that! I think it’s my second favourite floral from Le labo, first being fleur d’oranger
Been looking at this one
Worth a smell!
Interesting, thinking about buying a sample pack off there website to see what all the newer stuff is like soon, i tried a&f authentic the other day,l andi think i like it for 50 bucks.. i guess its aventusish but i wore aventus last night and amazingly i was turned off.. it was smelling like an old mechanics old leather wallet or something lol so glad i only got a 10ml decant phew
Bahahahah yeah it’s a reasonable choice for those who wanna save a fair dollar, I’ve smelt a lot worse from brands that charge 2x more than authentic. Confidence has been my go to gym scent as I kept pushing back the release of this video!
Oh btw.. grey cap fierce with the model isnt as good as the one u have ive confirmed this myself as i ordered black cap but got grey cap and then compared to my black cap sample, black cap is older version and smells richer in every way and smooth, grey version is harsh and almost synthetic, lighter and fresher but missing the depths and blend of the other. Some1 told me that the reason could be that the old bottles have had more time to sit.. so i guess now ill learn, ill notice if the synthetic harshness goes away and every note gets richer, i cant see it happening but maybe thats just how it goes, mines still good just a tad less
Awesome hearing back from ya regarding that! It’s a shame such a terrific dna has beeen tarnished, maybe one day we’ll get it back. Treasuring my current bottles for now!!
So youve got to the point where your checking out all those random fragrances that no1 ever talks about that fill the sample sites? How do you compare the quality or should i ask how often do u come by a banger compared to the most popular ones? Ive just finally caught up on the mainstream releases myself finally.. omg the stress of fonding a new obsession and knowing you have to spend thousands on samples alone just to catch up was horrible for me 😂
Haha great questions but I love doing more abstract reviews opposed to the stuff everyone else does 😆. Of course I have to do the occasional top seller but this month there’s been a lot of newness so it’s always interesting to see where perfume trends. + it’s easier to score new release samples for free at local retailers (usually if you ask kindly) 😇. I maybe only buy samples once every few months only if I’m extremely interested.
I'm curious about vra vra vroom and eau de audacity. I heard people saying the latter smells like babycat by ysl. Great review as always!
Thanks so much CY!!! I still havnt gotten my nose on them yet as I’m contemplating between doing a blind first impression or full length review but I have heard positive things about them so far!
Sup fiend , Good concise review, I haven’t tried this one yet but I might have to now. Nice impressions, I just uploaded a video earlier today too
Oh awesome I’ll have to check it out! Thanks so much for the kind words 😄
Any chance there'll be a review for Mystic Experience?
I believe I have a sample lurking somewhere!! I think I loved it from memory but will deffs love to do a review on more initio! Especially Mystic Experience
Bought it few weeks ago blind, no reviews or testing, by performance and longevity it is weak and a skin scent but it smells good. 200ml bottle on discount was very affordable. I would say worth it because point of purchase was to use when staying home and relax.
That’s what counts! Glad you ended up enjoying it 😊
This guy has no clue...🤦♀
Good job on this dude - you had me at the title!
Thanks Joe! First ever title change to test the algorithm hahha. Only thing I refuse to ever do is clickbait titles though!
Does centaurus smell like PDM Herod?
Definitely falls into a very similar category but I feel Herod is sweeter and not as much spice. The variation is mostly in the tobacco while Centaurus is a lot more resinous and a hint earthy, it also feels the slightest bit darker in contrast to my nose too (judging off the last time I smelt Herod a year ago)! 🙂 I liked Herod but much prefer Centaurus actually
@@FragranceFiend thanks for the deep explanation
As a fragrance absinthe lover myself, I encourage you to try L'Heure Verte By Kilian (name changed to Fièvre Verte). An absolute stunner that focuses more on the absinthe with excellent performance on my skin that lasts days on clothes. It definitely flies under the radar due to more popular offerings such as Angels Share, but its by far my favourite in the Liquors Collection. I trust you'll enjoy it, love your videos!
sounds incredible! I'll go on the hunt for it, Kilian has only just entered the market in my entire state and the only store that sells it has a very limited offering so i hope they'll have it. +T hank you so much for watching, I appreciate the kind words. take care! 🙂
Would you consider reviewing some of the Zara fragrances for men? The Vibe Variations Collection might interest you.
Absolutely I’d love to! I did film the tobacco collection but I think the files got corrupted when I transferred everything to my new editing PC unfortunately! I may have to refilm. Some of their dupes are pretty close but will deffs have to re-educate myself with their lineup 😊
The “Perfumer H - Smoke” video I mentioned will be posted in a few days as I reversed my schedule to publish newer releases first!
Was about to asked why I couldn't find the review for "Smoke" lol Great review as always!
I love your brutal honesty. Guess I can just skip this one.
Appreciated! One of many reasons I do this is for my honesty after growing tired of youtubers glazing over everything, especially when they're paid or gifted to promote it half the time. Thank you for watching!
This one and Killian back to black they're freaking amazing
I still need to get my nose on Back to Black 😳
Can you do a review on molecule 04 and molecule 01.I really like your style of reviews
Thank you it’s such an honour to hear that! + I’d love to, definitely considering Molecule 01, I own eccentric 01 and would have to source a sample of 04 😊
I’m 35 year old male and I love it. It does smell very organic and vibrant, I almost teared up in Sephora after sampling it. It was like a nostalgia drop kick to the face of helping my mom in her garden when I was a child. It really does smell like sun baked tomatoes after rain to me
Incredible!!! Absolutely love hearing stories like that, that’s what fragrance is all about to me. Connection to scents is something special unlike anything else when they can evoke strong memories like that. 😊
Teddy is not worth the money. Look for a clone. Its not long lasting. You're paying for the bottle
What is the difference between estatic and hedonistic?
The scents themself are both very different however the technology "headspace technology" is kinda the inspiration behind the addictive arts series. Ecstatic is lighter, minty floral. Hedonistic is more centered around the Tabacco note, i may do a review on it soon actually 😁
Stranger voice
My accent or tone? 💀
Could you please suggest where to order? (online\offline)
I’ve always been scared of buying Le labo online or from 3rd party sources, it seems to be such a counterfeited brand since the bottles appear easy enough to fraudulently reproduce and when I see them on eBay for $150 (despite positive account ratings) you rather buy from an authorised retailer or from the brand themself. It’s also super easy to rip the top off them and dilute them!
@@FragranceFiend so, is it means better to go in Berlin? :)
@@apocalypseae Haha sure would make a nice holiday too and make the fragrance extra special!
