RhinoWolf Tent Review & How To Assemble
มุมมอง 6K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Save your money. The tent isn’t waterproof nor does it come with a full sleeping bag. Great marketing and a cool concept, but not worth the cost and doesn’t deliver, plus they will not give you a refund even for defective products - you're stuck with whatever you get. Havasupai Backpacking & Camping Trip Guide
Looks like you guys had a great time w amazing weather!! That snake at 7:06 was huge, we heard there'd be rattlers but thankfully didn't bump into any that big during our trek last week
My fat ass feels very offended by the fat shaming Mother Nature. She literally could have made that wider so my fellow fat people could continue to be lazy and morbidly obese but still have the option to climb this canyon they never would anyways.
Awesome video!! Did you think 3 days/2 nights is reasonable to complete the whole trail? Also, would August be a better month to do the hike in terms of bugs and weather?
We did it in 3days/2 nights, so yes it’s possibly but doesn’t give you much time for stopping to take in the sights. I think Aug is probably going to be pretty similar to July in terms of weather and bugs, maybe even warmer/muggier. I think Sept-early Oct would be the sweet spot
Thank you for this! I hiked this trail in 1966 with parents and siblings. I've returned several times to Glen Aulin and the river area just below but never all the way down the river. What I recall from that first trip is 1) the rattlesnakes! 2) there is a side creek with the most exquisite swimming hole, and 3) the hike out of the river to Hardin almost kills the buzz
Definitely a lot of rattlesnakes!
Which season is best to visit?
Whenever it’s not too hot
The gem of the North Coast.....................................loved your view.
Hey Guys! I passed you on the 4th descending from white wolf! Thanks for the heads up about the Rattlesnakes! We had a blast on this trip, and somehow the bugs didn't bother us too much. Better luck next time!
Hey! HA small world! Glad the bugs weren’t so bad for you guys and that you enjoyed it more than we did!
Awesome video. I enjoyed watching it. Thanks for sharing. subd & 👍9
Thank you so much 👍
How cold was it at night? (We are going a week earlier than you guys went)
Not cold at all. We have a double sleeping bag and if anything we were a little too warm.
What time of year did you go. Was the heat and humidity doable
We went in Dec. definitely humid, but doable!
What did you use to record????
My family and I were there this past July 2023 and it was an awesome experience!!! Thank you for sharing.
Very cool! Thanks for sharing.
We just got back from Matangi, and stayed at the exact same treehouse (Lomalagi). The wood around the tub is painted grey-brown now, and the deck furniture is different, but otherwise looks about the same as 5 years ago. (The Lomalagi sign is missing, though).
How did you know what direction to go once in Coyote gulch to reach the arch? Also we’re there any branches to the gulch or was it all one way to see everything?
There’s a map on our post showing the entry points and where the arches are: ourinfiniteearth.com/guide-to-coyote-gulch/
@@ourinfiniteearth thank you so much!
Does matangi island has white sand beaches?
So you really do need a rope in order to get down there? Is there any other way to get down there
Yes you need a rope. It’s a very steep rock face.
@@ourinfiniteearth how far you have to walk from where you park car?
Excellent video that shows the lakes and Sam Mack Meadow. My friend and I are going to try and day hike to Sam Mack Meadow sometime in 2023 for a geocache that is hidden there. This place looks stunning. Thanks for posting.
How much does that weigh?
What an epic adventure. Great video.
Is there any other trails that dont require me to do hike down the rope to get to jacobs arch
Yes you can hike in via Hurricane Wash which is 5mi along a dry wash instead
@@ourinfiniteearth would i need a 4x4 car or would my compact car do fine on the drive there?
@@rosiehernandez4194 Depends on the weather. We were able to make the drive in our Prius just fine, but we also had to cut our trip short by a day because it was going to rain and we didn't think that it was a good idea to try to drive the dirt road in our Prius.
Hi, which time of the year you did the tour ? Because we thought 10.30 was the best tour for photography tour
Good idea. Rubbish implementation. I think the 2.0 is out. Is that any better?
Wonderful. A very informative video with a warm personal touch. I'll be meandering through the Vermilion Cliffs area next week.
Enjoy!
Such a beautiful hike. Scenery is incredible. Very nice video.
Hey! Swiss Cheese Falls - a suitable name for the place. Beautiful places that Natural Bridge, and "Secret "Lagoon. Very different landscapes than we have in Finland. Thanks for sharing video!
Thanks for the video! Backpacking to Jackass Lakes with my brother July 24th, 2021. I'm thinking we might take the Norris Trailhead instead because I don't like being fucked w/ with false cairns and ambiguous trails haha. I really do want to do the Jackass Lakes Trailhead because it is more challenging but I don't fancy getting lost. Happy Trails!
Great Video - thank you for sharing !!
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
In what month did you guys go?
Beginning of Dec
Glad I found this video! Would you recommend the resort? Kid friendly? TY!
*Why are you wearing pants with giant satanic baphomet symbols on them you freak?*
Looks like a fantastic location. Do you have any more details or coordinates for this spot?
It was a place where my fiance went as a kid and we found it just from his memory. But we entered from Upper Lake, curved around the mountain for a bit, then it turns to a dirt road and crosses the river and after that there's a few campgrounds.
What did you guys do for tending to your shoes? wet, then dry, then wet, etc? two pairs?
We wore water shoes and neoprene socks. They were dry by the next morning each day. More details on the gear we used available here: ourinfiniteearth.com/buckskin-gulch-paria-canyon-backpacking-guide/#gear
@@ourinfiniteearth okay gotcha. thanks! We'll check it out
Looks like you also had a great time on the 4th in the MNF. I was up at Ocean View to watch the fireworks from 4 cities. How often do you visit the MNF? Cheers!
Thanks! We did have a great time! Sounds like you had an amazing view of the fireworks!! This was my first visit to MNF, but my fiance has been coming here for years ever since he was a kid
@@ourinfiniteearth Next time your both going keep me in mind. I go camping or on a day trip about every two weeks. Last weekend was a mission to find the B-17 crash, but I got distracted by N roads and dispersed camp sites. Safe travels. Cheers!
Any update? Did you return it or keep it?
I tried to return it, but they wouldn't give any refund and eventually just stopped responding to me. They offered for me to mail it back to Jerusalem myself (pay for shipping myself) and then they would send me another one. I saw another customer's Amazon review that had the same leaking issue and they offered the same thing to her, so apparently the "100% satisfaction guarantee" that they say on their website is just BS and you're stuck with it once you have it, even if it's a defective product. I write more about it and have screenshots of the emails and such in my blog here: ourinfiniteearth.com/rhinowolf-tent-review/
Shame, I love their ads.
rhino wolf
Hello. Thanks for the information and the great video. I have a question. How far is it to the drop from the trail head? Have a good evening.
If you're taking the water tank route like we did, the rock face where you drop into the canyon is about 100-150ft drop. We put together a detailed post with everything you need to know about this trip here: ourinfiniteearth.com/travel-destinations/american-southwest/guide-to-coyote-gulch/
@@ourinfiniteearth You guys are awesome! thank you so much!! :)
Thanks for the great info! How do I get exact directions to the water tank?
We have a blog post with all of the details: ourinfiniteearth.com/guide-to-coyote-gulch/
Just curious on the length of rope bought?
It was 200ft which was more than enough. 150ft would be totally fine
Could you please tell me how thick the rope was and how much it weighed to carry in/out. Thank you!
Thanks for your review, I saw it after my purchase. Did you also have an additional package? I got 2 bags for the 4-seasons version, the 2nd being the 560g down blanket which I wasn't expecting to be separate since I'm not sure if the one zipped inside is for 2 seasons and this goes on top for 4?
Interesting! No, I didn't get the 4 season tent, just the 2 season one, so it only came in one package. My guess would be that your additional blanket is supposed to be zipped in since their whole thing is "all in one". I would guess that the 2 season tent is the "stock" version that they just have laying around ready to go, so then if anyone orders the "upgrades", all they have to do is send the upgrade separately and not worry about repacking the "stock" version.
@@ourinfiniteearth have you been able to look at the REI Co-OP backpacking bundle? It's on sale at the moment for $225. I shied away because of the listed weight and extra pole (I'm a beginner tent builder)
Is this a rhino wolf 2.0?
Nope it's not. This is the first iteration afaic. My 2.0 does not look like this.
My Rhinowolf doesn't look like this either. The cross pole on the top goes on the outside on mine and the quilt and mat are branded with the Rhinowolf logos. I wonder if this gal got a knock-off version somehow...
These were RhinoWolf 1, purchased directly from their website, so I'd be surprised if it was a knockoff. Maybe they had different versions of 1?
@@ourinfiniteearth Mine is the 2.0 version. It works fine. Sorry you got the shoddy first version.
This is the 1.0 - not a knock-off. I stumbled over here while considering the 2.0 version. I'm disappointed the bags don't come together very well on the 1.0, also I understand the concept of reducing weight by using the pad and as the bottom of the "bag" but I would rather see at least a thin breathable something between my body and the mat. Any of the other people here, can you confirm please if the 2.0 has fixed the leak issues?
this actually looks like one of those beginning to a horror movie kind or something lol. jokes aside what was that waterfall btw?
The waterfall was a day trip from the resort. It was on the main island after a short walk through the jungle.
did u exit the same way that you entered?
Yep - took the water tour route both ways, which means going down and then back up the rock face.
@@ourinfiniteearth did you leave the rope hanging there?
@@nicolefath6230 While we were down in the canyon, yes. I think it would be impossible to undo the tie around the hole in the rock from the bottom. It was still there when we came back a few days later (and others were using it) and when we left then we took it out with us. When we first got there and went down someone else's rope was also there, but it was gone when we went back up, so they must have taken theirs and it was a good thing we had brought and tied off our own, otherwise there would have been no rope for getting back up!
@@ourinfiniteearth What length rope do you need to make it down safely?
@@Whhhpssh maybe 150ft. 200 was too long
I hiked up to this lake when i was a kid and loved the entire journey! Thank you for posting!
Awesome video
