Does this work for 2015 CR-V touring?? I just bought one and sad about the infotainment system

I have a Honda CRV 2015 EX and I tried to do everything as video but when I do insert a USB I get a message that the USB problem. I tried to change the USB but still the same message. Please please someone help me. I am 70 year old man 👍😜

Does this work on a 2014 Honda civic EX-L?

I just came across this recently. I installed this in my 2016 CR-V and it works like a charm! I do have a question though. I disconnected the navigation wire like you showed, but I still have the navigation arrow in my dashboard display, the display screen above the stereo,that shows the direction of travel. Is this normal? Should the navigation arrow still be in the dashboard display? Did I do something wrong? Thanks for taking the time to post this so use CR-V owners can have Apple CarPlay 😉👍

I am having issues with the USB portion of the instructional video: formatted USB 2.0 drives (1GB, 2GB and 32GB) to FAT32 and threw in the SwUpdate.mef file on each of them, however plugging them in individually to USB port 2 I'm presented with "USB Problem." I'm running it on a 2016 CR-V Touring with Navigation. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I have a 2016 CRV in New Zealand which has naviagtion as standard. Has anyone used this upgrade on a CRV head unit with navigation? US trim levels are not the same so I can't tell if any of the models mentioned have the navigation already installed.

Awesome stuff ! I just installed mine. I tried to remove the head unit but it was difficult. I installed the software directly and it worked well without removing the gps and the hazard light. God bless you in Jesus name !!!

Will this work on a Touring trim you think?

So helpful made the car so much better and amazing video. Make sure the USB drive is formatted to FAT32. Up till 99% took 1:15 and after took 3:42.

You saved us hundreds of dollars replacing a head unit to get car play on my 2015 CRV. I’m handing this car off to my daughter soon when she gets her license and I wanted her to have a more hands free system in her car. I did the update myself and it didn’t work at first. I think my USB port has some issues as it’s always gone in and out of charging when phones were plugged in. My husband happened to have a wireless CarPlay adapter and we plugged it in and boom! The adapter was discoverable on my phone under CarPlay and we were all set. We are all so happy with this upgrade. Thank you!

Followed the video to upgrade my 2015 EX trim CRV on 11/17/2024, I have to buy a brand new USB2.0 flash drive after the existing USB3.0 drive failed to read after the first plugin. I didn't remove the head unit during installation. Took a test ride to grocery store and Apple maps navigation worked like a charm. Hopefully I can save the efforts of removing the head unit in future. XD

Worked well! For my 2015 CRV EX-L I needed to plug the USB stick into the far left port in the center console--the closest port to the driver side. I plugged it into the center USB port and the car would give an error saying it couldn't read the USB. Switching it to the left port fixed the issue right away and the rest of the installation process was smooth! Total 30 mins installation time with dash panel removal. Thank you

Has anyone tried this with the Touring trim? I heard it might be different because it comes with built-in navigation?

I keep getting "USB Problem. Try Again" on my screen. I'm using a 16gb USB drive 2.0. Formatted to FAT32. Downloaded the software on there. renamed it to USB20FD. Ejected. Still getting this problem.

Not working for me. I have a 2015 Honda CRV and followed every single instruction correctly. The message on the head unit screen with the USB drive plugged in? ‘Unsupported’. This was the same trying both USB slots. I then researched further on Reddit and it’s impossible to upload software onto a 2015 model.

2024- works like a charm. Exactly like the video said. I had some difficulty getting the clips out, ended up using (and in the process destroying) wooden ceramics tools. My friend with a 2019 Nissan is now jealous of my 2015 CRV bc I have CarPlay and he doesn’t.

November 2024. 2015 Honda CRV EX-L. This works like a blast! I didn’t pull out head unit just installed without any issue and navigation works fine for me so far. Will update here if there are any issue and have to pull out the wire. My suggestion to everyone follow everything in the video except pulling out head unit at first. Just try yours might work without pulling out nav wire too. There is no loss on that. If you have issue you can pull out and remove nav wire and happily live ever after.

Worked for me. 2015 CV R without nav. I had installed a head unit in my mx 5 with android auto and carplay wife said I'd like carplay for the Honda cr v. Looked into a head unit that would work with this car 😮. Found this video, now the wife's got her carplay and best of all $0 cost. Nice job sir, thanks.

Anyone having trouble with clock working properly after this install? I replaced the battery shortly after installing this update and now the clock resets to what i set it to previously.

Am I just dragging the file he has here into the usb box? I opened it with a pdf reader and it just looks like coding so I’m not sure if I have to do anything on my end except drag the file over…

Did this and has been working for a couple years now. I just had my battery changed and my clock resets every time I restart my car. Any chance the compass wire not being connected has anything to do with this? Or any other ideas?
