Well-paved Jackson cul-de-sac to get makeover thanks to powerful lawmaker who bought home there
In a capital city infamous for its crumbling roads and lack of money to fix them, a powerful lawmaker helped steer $400,000 in state taxpayer funds to repave a small, already well-paved northeast Jackson cul-de-sac where he owns a house.

Millions in taxpayer funds flow to powerful lawmaker's country club and Jackson neighborhoods
มุมมอง 63221 วันที่ผ่านมา
A Mississippi Today investigation reveals that at least $7 million in state taxpayer funds have improved the private country club neighborhood and golf course where Rep. Trey Lamar, one of Mississippi’s most powerful lawmakers, lives. Taxpayers are also footing the bill for another state-funded project that will repave a quiet Jackson street where Lamar also owns a house. Read the full story: b...
How Trey Lamar brought home millions to Tate County
มุมมอง 16721 วันที่ผ่านมา
Powerful House chairman Rep. Trey Lamar brought home millions to his Tate County - even while similarly sized counties and even much larger areas across the state received little. Lamar’s earmarking is part of a system of legislative maneuvering that offers little transparency and fairness to anyone outside the reaches of political power. Mississippi is governed like a shit hole country
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL GARDEN…. In loving memorial of this GREAT WOMAN💋❤️❤️❤️❤️💕💕💕💕🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
mississippi state government is crooked deep down
She didn't CLAIM , he DID whistle at her ! Till's same cousins & friends said he did ! Stop with the BS !
Personally, I think they should’ve got more time 25 to life
Reminds of the song "Mississippi got da…" Nina Simone!!! I got the whole pic after researching the late queen Hamer !!!❤❤❤
Bird song is a gift from the cosmos.
Cassandra Wilson is an absolute gift. Her album New Moon Daughter is one of my favorite albums. Life is wild, I was listening to this album every day for 2 months straight while I was in Meridian, Mississippi when I was 19 while at my A school for the United States. The music is timeless, and her artistry is magic.
I am so happy that you honor her wish not to be buried on a plantation❤ I live here in Mobile Alabama
If trump would have won re-election back in 2020, I believe that Presley Would have won last year. The current president does effect on who will control the state and local elections.
Mississippi’s would simply not survive with a woke leadership
Just more corruption
This is one racist MF'er. Pandering makes you look like such a spinless liberal... oh, you are.
Thank you Anna Wolf for all that you do. You are a rock star.
*PLEASE INVESTIGATE MY ARREST IN OKOLONA, MS!!! I HAVE A VIDEO OF MY ARREST ON MY CHANNEL WHERE I WAS PUT IN HANDCUFFS FOR TAKING PICTURES OF TOWN HALL!!!*
The prosecution are obviously corrupt if there gonna reccomend sentences like this riddiculos
The goon squad going to be the gap squad.
😂😊😅😅😅😅😂😅
I have no issue with her. In both her court statement and later book, she stated that he put his hands on her and made a sexually suggestive comment. She told her husband. In 1955, women had little power over their husband's actions. When her husband dragged Till in front of her, enraged at his victim, she acknowledged him. That was the extent of her guilt. We act like she killed him. I told my husband when a bunch of black dudes followed me down the street catcalling me a few years ago. If he took matters into his own hands that would be his issue, not mine. Stop blaming the victim. It's misogynistic to see her as the problem. Her husband was the problem. She was assaulted by a kid from the north who didn't understand southern politics, and told her husband about it.
Actually, she refused to identify Emmett. Why would you think she identified him? Did you see it in some movie or something?
Oh you mean the stuff she later said didn't happen? Right, total victim here. Not the CHILD who was beaten and shot. She knew full well what would happen to any person of color who got accused of anything against a white person. Your comment reeks of racism.
This has been going on in Rankin County forever. One of my family members always said to keep your mouth shut. If not you risked getting your a__ beaten!! He said this to me 30+years ago. I still think all should have gotten more time, in regular prison!!
Anna is now being arrested for this.
They caught six police in Rankin County ( Mississippi) for abusing the men. One of the men shot in the mouth. A suot worth over 350 Million filed against the County!
I'm conservative but want to say who is to not corrupt these studies or with employers having biases. Let's cut funding and spend this money to give tax breaks making it more appealing for businesses, industries, churches, etc. to do business in Mississippi!
they must be linked to the KKK..where is Ben Crump? He would get to the bottom of it...these cops r homosexual..they r some of the sickest bastards I've ever seen
They not getting my vote
Shot a man in the mouth, and sexually assaulted and beat both of them.. Forgiveness, I think people have that word misunderstood and over utilized. You haven't even grieved yet, and furthermore your abuser does not need nor deserve your forgiveness, let alone publicly. Who else has been terrorized by this goon squad?
In a neighboring county, These sheriffs now are getting to where they hold this position then seem to be completely out of presence of the public eye. Can't get them on phone and their secretaries "try' to cover for them, "try" to handle confidential complaints, and then screen all their calls, and if it is a call that is confidential, 30 minutes later she blabs her mouth and others already know it thru the network of friends. . . It is unacceptbale. Unprofessional. Vote them out!
That sounds like a neighboring county's sheriff where he is totally inaccessible, calls screened, no one even knows he exists until its lunchtime and sees him meeting his deputies for lunch just about everyday. . It is ridicuous. The former sheriff gave out his cell # for people to call him, and he accepted all calls, totally accessible. This is based on personal opinion, actual personal experiences by many friends. Competition is needed at the voting booth, and always remember never to lazily vote for an elected official of any kind just because they are an incumbent (have an "I" beside their name). When you vote ask yourself, is your area patrolled or, are they just patrolling only just within suburb city limits where there is already munipality police available (does that make sense)? Is the only time you see a presence is when it's lunchtime and many deputy cars are in the suburb city limits far from othe rural areas that need patrolling? How many times do you see patrolling in rural areas? Whem the sheriffs dept tells someone to call the city police then why are they patrolling the cities (that doesn't make sense)? Is your sheriff accessible ? Is your sheriff and deputies consistently present around the community and in rural areas where there is hardly a presence at all? Do you see your deputies patrolling only a specific area of rural areas or all of it? Does your sheriffs dept complain if you call them to come and act unprofessional by stating I can't believe i had to drive our here in the country for this (demeaning the significance to whats important to the public)? Do they need to be reminded they work for the entire county not a few areas of the county! Do they needed to be reminded they work for the public that pays their salary? Need competition!
There is no way I would believe that the sheriff was not aware. My opinion.
They got 10-40 years she don’t know what she talking bout …!!!!!!
I heard of Christian and his precious family too many years ago just like so many if ya'll. That sweet face of his (and his Momma's) has never faded. I do check quite frequently too see if there's anything new or anything we can do.....but nothing 😢 Does anybody know anything in 2024? Please and thank ya'll 💔🙏🫶👋
He's the head goon, I don't believe for one second that he didn't know what his deputies were doing. He needs to be removed immediately and charged.
Stateless Traitors.
Stateless Traitors.
Very believable and horribly sad. Cops are violent. Like a gang.
This is a amazing thing your doing .
A evil woman she is.
Why would you think that?
@@Gurn-xh5fg she is the one who made this kid die, she called her husband to torture and abuse him which leaded to his death. The only thing that made her do it is because Emmett was being nice and called her pretty.
@Simply_maria24 Liar. Obviously you know LESS than nothing about this case. Carolyn didn't do any of what you said. When Roy returned from Texas, he overheard the young boys in town, bragging about Emmett sexually assaulting the tiny 21 year old beauty queen. Roy went home and confronted Carolyn, but Carolyn denied it. Roy then tried to get Carolyn to identify Emmett, but she refused. Carolyn knew that Roy was a racist Democrat, and was afraid of what he could do to Emmett. Roy and J.W. drove out to Moses Wright's house, and it was Emmett who identified himself to Roy. Shame on you for lying.
Guys.. dont say may she burn in hell because everything they did was wrong but god still forgives and he said if you dont forgive how can i forgive you? Forgive but dont forget.. no one should suffer like this kid.
Why are so many people defending gang members.
Umm She Lies About Him Too 😱😱😱
No 20 years
Since LBJ, and his Great Society, the Democrat party has done NOTHING constructive for the black population. They feed off the backs of others. This is not to say that the Republicans don't have their share of ruthless trough feeders. It is time we all wake up and put the the government back on the leash. Thank you for posting.
True Journalists. Thanks for your hard work and loyalty to fact.
Everyday I follow the reporting Mississippi Today drops into my mailbox. This was great and I would love to see more of them. Thank you!
Rip water tower rolling fork 😭😭😭😭
They should gotten this Troglodytes to flip on their leader(s) I am certain it starts at the top...No way the Sheriff is innocent of this... there's blood on his hand
I hope you never find peace.
Just demonstrates how confident cops are that they can do literally anything and get away with it
Is that what gang members do. Just a question.
As hunter Elward being my uncle I had a hard time that day he got married the day before court and after hearing what he did it kinda made sense why he went to jail but I miss a lot but that was wrong
She later recanted her accusations. But no charges were brought for perjury. What these self-righteous people fail to realize is that they will stand before their God to account for their lives and deeds.
Liar. Obviously you know LESS than nothing about the murder of Emmett Till.
