Japanese Tattoo 101: Amitābha (Great Buddha of Kamakura )
Amitābha (Sanskrit pronunciation: [ɐmɪˈtaːbʱɐ]), also known as Amita Buddha (Chinese: 阿彌陀佛; pinyin: Ēmítuó fó) or Amida Buddha (Japanese: 阿弥陀如来 あみだにょらい, Hepburn: Amida nyorai), is the principal Buddha of Pure Land Buddhism. He is also known as Amitāyus, which is understood to be his enjoyment body (Saṃbhogakāya). In Vajrayana Buddhism, Amitābha is known for his longevity, discernment, pure perception, and the purification of aggregates with deep awareness of the emptiness of all phenomena. Amitābha is associated with the Diamond Realm (vajradhātu), whereas Amitāyus is associated with the Womb Realm (garbhakoṣadhātu.
Attainment of Buddhahood
According to the Larger Sūtra of Immeasurable Life, Amitābha was, in very ancient times and possibly in another system of worlds, a monk named Dharmākara. In some versions of the sūtra, Dharmākara is described as a former king who, having come into contact with Buddhist teachings through the buddha Lokeśvararāja, renounced his throne. He then resolved to become a Buddha and to create a buddhakṣetra (literally "buddha-field", often called a "Pureland" or "Buddha Land": a realm existing in the primordial universe outside of ordinary reality, produced by a buddha's merit) possessed of many perfections. These resolutions were expressed in his forty-eight vows, which set out the type of Pureland Dharmākara aspired to create, the conditions under which beings might be born into that world, and what kind of beings they would be when reborn there.

Man I’m so happy I found your page. I want to do a full suit as well like you, but unlike you this is all very new for me. I’m struggling on choosing between traditional Japanese tattoo or neo trad Japanese, but to be honest I don’t really entirely understand the difference. How do I contact you to ask you a question so you can point me in the right direction?
@@drhonest7775 it’s very similar almost the same. It just neo traditional is more amine inspired instead of traditional Japanese character stories I highly recommend traditional Japanese characters body suit. Because I personally have traditional Japanese bodysuit. Because good morning and symbolism behind the traditional Japanese bodysuit so points in the right direction to the traditional Japanese bodysuit because there’s a lot of varieties of character that says dragon, crane, tiger, samurai, ninja, botanical flowers of Japan great stories that inspired Neil Japanese thing as a story of the samurai who holds the Golden Gate. That’s traditional Japanese story has inspired Dragon Ball Z. So overall, she was a traditional Japanese bodysuit is much more colorful, much more painful as much more ancient and more vintage, which is better for your taste. I have many videos on the Japanese tattoo list of each character and what they mean when you put it with your bodysuit. and thank you for subscribing to my TH-cam channel and looking for it share this among your friends and family members
Can you show reference where cherry blossoms work with w a koi fish swimming up against the current? Multiple people told me it only goes with fall flowers
@@sbshahin hi yes here’s a reference of it and to answer your question the common flowers are lotus flowers, cherry blossoms, and maple leaves(only in fall theme) www.kodamakoifarm.com/koi-fish-tattoo/#:~:text=The%20combination%20of%20traditional%20Koi,the%20fleeting%20beauty%20of%20life.

Cherry blossoms shouldn’t go with a koi. It’s a spring flower. The koi spawns in the fall
Your correct usually lotus flowers will go with Koi but however According to Japanese and Chinese folklore cherry blossoms and koi are the main theme in the golden gate story of china (which is where the koi fish comes) it’s symbolic for harmony. This is based on the Chinese story that influenced Japanese tattoo culture. Thank you and don’t forget to share my content and subscribe
I see them tattooed together more often than less likely, even with AAA Artists who profession in Traditional Japanese
@@sbshahin yes because it’s based on the ancient Chinese story called the golden gate (koi turns into the dragon) the cherry blossom symbolizes change and temporary changes resurrection so that’s why you see it together
@@KevinTheNavigator1 appreciate all the fast replies, i am planning a sleeve, and on my sketch i wanted a koi fish swimming upwards with Sakura then came couple of guys saying that they dont go together since the koi spawns in fall and the sakura blooms in spring, had to pause the entire project thinking i was doing something wrong 😑
@@sbshahin no your fine your not doing anything wrong. Yes get your koi with cherry blossom they traditionally go together. Those people are saying that from a western perspective and not the traditional Japanese story.

Awesome good luck mate! (Australian accent) tell your experience as a Australian sailor to a American
wait till you get to calculus lmao
Ooo yeah that would be fun
It’s not the water it’s the HARD parts around the water. In other words a big storm is not likely to sink a large ship in the middle of the ocean but the same storm near shore or rocky out crops or reefs sink more ships then capsizing or taking large waves (unless the ship itself fails some ships have sunk from a combination of load and weather broke the ship in half. (That could also be partly due to corrosion that was not seen but since deep sea salvage is a problem knowing that would require recovering the ship to do a investigation which is very hard so speculation leaves out causes that can’t be confirmed. This is why light houses exist they place them in areas of danger to warn ships to stay clear. If you are on shore and you see a light house you’re probably looking at a coast line known for many wrecks. (Cape Hatteras. If one known area on the east coast of the US. Some where around 1000 ships have been wrecked there.)
Yes 🙌 that’s correct! That’s why lighthouses are placed! As I went to a lot of lighthouses tours and museums that’s very correct

Thank you yes I was wondering what it was and one of the military personnel on deck mentioned it to me in the base!
Am getting a phoenix, enso and cherry blossom together. I have selected a very good artist. What do you think about it?
That’s perfect combination, however, in Japanese Tattoo tradition, you add a chrysanthemum, and a peony flower with the cherry blossoms falling above the Phoenix, due to the fact that the Phoenix represents resurrection and perseverance, and three of those flowers I just mentioned complement the theme of the story. Overall, I think that’s very perfect but you must add the chrysanthemum and the peony flower combined with the cherry blossom and also do you have the option to add a dragon with the Phoenix because they are part of the Chinese zodiac they complement each other. Thank you sir I appreciate it. Share my video to your friends and family and subscribe and tell others if they need with my Japanese tattoo video guidance
