I have removed the old dash and clocks to see what is needed to fit the original units

Welcome to my first of (hopefully) many videos of my recently acquired Austin Mini (Sky). White body Light blue roof. One owner from new and held on a private estate until recently. It's very first MOT was on 14th Feb 2023, so 34 years after it was purchased. Yes it has a few issues, hopefully nothing to serious. So here we go on a journey....'Andiamo'
Any update on this? Would like to see how it sits and how u mounted it
Looking at the question toy asked on sinpsons classics . That wiring suggests that it was a centre speedo in it which would suggest an earlier car
Nice little update.
Thanks 👍
That’s a nice tip and worth knowing should the lights have this issue. 👍
Thanks for you're reply
Tony, I like the wood veneer but it‘s not cheap but a good vinyl will look good just make sure you leave enough extra to glue & staple the edges on the backside. Cheers Dave
Thanks Dave, this is the option I'm leaning towards 👍
Nice, but needs more revs!
Nice bit of info. That should help others if they experience a similar issue.
Hi Tony, enjoying your videos, I came here via comments from Dave Jag (Below). That interior light is a much earlier part, Mk1 Mini I think, the metal black 'crackle' switch makes it a reasonably sought after item I believe! I'm sure Mini spares would have the right light unit for your later car, or Somerford Mini....
Yes, you're right. I'm sure that's why it stopped working. Mini sport is not for, a trip out soon to replace it
Tony, Good to see you traced the fault this is why I don‘t mess with the dark art of electrics 🤣😂 Anything else I‘m game for 🤔 Cheers Dave
Cheers Dave
Keep on with creating the Mini content and I’m sure new viewers will start to follow the channel.
Tony, Good to see you have posted a video and given the viewers a small introduction to your channel. Maybe an Intro video to camera would help with what your intending to do with the Mini and the channel. Sorry we didn't make the 100 subs by the end of the month but it‘s early days yet. It would nice to see the car in full. Cheers Dave
Hello Tony, Dave at Classic Car Cave suggested giving your channel a look, and I am glad I took his advice - great video! I used to drive Minis when I lived in London in the '80's, and loved them. I used to fit the Wood & Pickett dashboard to my Minis - a much better look than the dash you have, easy to install, and you could definitely see the speedo too. In one of your future videos could you please provide a little more detail on how to use the electric test equipment to track down faulty wiring /defective switches? I have host of electrical issues with one of my projects and could use some advice. Also, if you could provide a link to where one can buy this equipment that would be great too. Looking forward to your next video.
Hi, just as soon as I can get the cover off when the rain stops, I'll get one out on here asap. The oscillator 87j is available on ebay you will need the amplifier 109j
G’day Tony looking forward to mini videos give it a good go mate
Well thanks, will give it a good go 👍 😀
Tony, I have subbed to your channel and hopefully you will take up a few of my suggestions, I have found you need to mention in the title what the video is about. Cheers Dave
My newly acquired Mini Sky, first run out after fitting a new alternator.
