Military Reunion 2024
After losing and then finding a memory card... I finally finished the edit from our military reunion from memorial day weekend. So good to see and cut up with my brothers that I served with. I can't wait until the next time we are together. ✊🤙

OC-1/OC-2/V-1 Race from Sunset Beach to Haleiwa. Huge turn out for a downwind race. I decided to take an inside line, maybe too inside... Either way it was a fun one with a decent result.

1st annual Wa'a invitational Ma'ili Oahu. This was my first time participating in an OC-4 surf contest. We didn't make it to the semi-finals, but had a blast. It was definitely a day to remember!

On July 4th I competed in the 44th annual Da Hui Paddle race, in memory of Tamayo Perry. Tons of big names showed up in his honor. Including Jack Johnson, Kelly Slater, John John Florence, and Nate Florence. There were a 137 total competitors for stand up paddle board. Na Keiki O Ka Moʻi Canoe Club regatta race. Battle on the west side of Oahu. It was some rough water, close race, but our crew pulled it off! Stoked to be part of this crew and paddle for Manu O Ke Kai 🤙🚣💪🙌

Was blessed I was able to race twice today. This was my second race of the day. Challenging conditions made for a tough race. Finished 4th, one second from 3rd place.

State championship from Hawaii Kai to Sand Island. Had to work night shift the night before, and after the race. But being it was the last race of the season for me, I couldn't miss it. Very windy but fun run, gps had me at 14.3 miles total distance.

Fr half that race shoulda dq-ed😂. Nice to see what that inside line looked like, I went way out and kinda hit a dry spot then a bunch of boats passed me up coming around the bend. Cool seeing these kinds of videos though.

Howzi't, hey good video. I was the guy with the nsp that you pass almost at the end. I believe you came in 3rd and I came in 4th. I think I came 2nd in 50 to 59 age division. They don't even recognize my placement. With this vedio is the proff, with my placement. Thanks.
You did really good! I followed your line most of the race. It was pretty much team NSP vs Blue Planet for the top haha. Their boards were much bigger than ours too. We were on 14'.. they were on 17'6" boards. 🤫🤙

That's the truth! We were so close to DQ on both flags on the turn 😬. When he called for Une I hesitated for sec on purpose because we would have hit the flag. Was a nutz race, wind and chop hit so hard on the turn. Never been stuck in a turn so long before.

Condtions look a bit gnarly to me... I'm used to paddling mellow southern California waters. The huli recovery was quick though; cool heads prevailed!
Yea it was a bit rough. Had it not been race day I don't think we would have been out there. But it was a great learning/confidence experience. 🤙
as a new paddler, what is the hand drag for?
I do it during the drop to slow me down enough to not sink the nose, but not come out of the bump. 💯 Not necessary, but I like the control of it. Also helps not spinning out since the rudder is sometimes in the air during the drop.

I hit a few walls 😆. First at mile 10, took my hammer gel. Then again a couple miles later. Then the last 2miles trying to push harder was hell. 😅
