Its a horrible generalization, but I feel if you have seen and appreciate this movie/book you are literally a better person.

They should cut this with the Leighton Meester version, which vocally is so much better, but regardless such a beautiful song from one of my favorite books/movies. Reading it now in fact.

I remember watching the last unicorn as a kid but my parents told me that they’ve never seen the movie, and neither has my brother, and I remember watching it with them. uhhhhh 😅

The beauty of this song is, it is written by a master musical composer, Jimmy Webb. Jeff Bridges has a vulnerability that is perfect in the vocal. Beautiful.

Her voice is pretty, but I prefer the original where the voice actress for Amalthea sang this song. The original isn't perfect, but that's why it's so moving. There's emotion, pain, sincerity, and a realness and vulnerability to her voice. I'm starting to grow up more and this is starting to kill me because I'm growing and growing and I'm being introduced to more of the stuff that robbed me of my innocence a long time ago when I knew nothing and now that I'm a woman, I'm starting to learn that someday when I'm 20 or 30 years later, my country will someday depend on me because I'm going to be a politician someday and that would mean many things will happen and many people will rob me of everything I hold dear because of what I believe in as a woman

They didn't have to have Mia Farrow and Jeff Bridges sing... but they did. It makes the music here mean more because it's the actors we have grown to know & care about, at least to me. I hope Amalphia & Lir still sing together, in another life in which they did stay together. 💜🎶 I suppose that's a tale for a different day.
