Today folks on California's north coast heard about redwood stave pipes built long ago in huge quantities by PG&E, who helped industrialists start a fake redwood protection organization in 1917 called "Save the Redwoods League", to prevent a large National Park being formed which would've truly protected more of the giants. I'm wondering which kind of tree was used for this huge Alaska pipeline-- possibly Western Red Cedar.
