Insights On Litigation From A Business Owner's POV | Founder, HipBar | Prasanna Natarajan
How does law interact with business? How do entrepreneurs have to navigate through regulation and bureaucracy while launching their own start-ups, especially in industries where regulation is yet to evolve? Being lawyers we’re usually aware of just one side of business and regulations. It’s important for us to understand the other perspectives, which is that of the business owner, and who's better to share insights than a business owner himself?
We have a very special guest. He's not a lawyer. He’s a serial entrepreneur, a visionary, a fervent litigant, and moreover, a dear friend.
Mr. Prasanna Natarajan has been involved in the alcoholic beverages industry for several years. Having started his own company Sipping Spirits in 2007. He launched many of his own homegrown brands of vodka, tequila, and gin.
An understanding of the market and upcoming trends in technology led him to found Hip Bar, a start-up focused on home delivery of alcohol in 2015. Despite 6 years and counting, home delivery of liquor has still not become mainstream.
We have Prasanna to share his perspective on setbacks and challenges in dealing with regulations and the law as a business owner and provide insights from the perspective of a client to lawyers and legal professionals.

Dismissal of an SLP Does Not Result in Merger | The Remedy? Review! | Naveen R. Nath | Experiences
มุมมอง 1.1K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Article 136, Special Leave Petitions, does not lead to (Doctrine of) Merger, and there is always the remedy to go for Review. Even after the dismissal of Special Leave Petition, a litigant can actually go back to the court against whose orders you approached the Supreme Court, and file a Review. This is because once a Special Leave Petition is dismissed, it does not result in a merger. The Doct...

Diversifying your practice to different branches of law to make full use of the Supreme Court’s powers vested under Article 136 It is important for a lawyer to have diverse interests. The Supreme Court’s power under Article 32, is by itself a fundamental right, as said earlier, but this power is not invoked by the Supreme Court very often for very good reasons. If every citizen approaches the Supreme Court under Article 32, it would result in clogging the court. Plus, one must also bear in mind that, the High Courts are equally effective in dealing with those kinds of issues...

The NLU part was bit saddening. However, I was expecting a solution to, at least, mitigate or bridge the gap, which, unfortunately, Mr. Ghose didn't cover up. I hope corridor.law becomes successful.
