First ride to the beach on the Thumpstar
Daytona 190 time. Was pretty good ride. Happy with the new bike. Had a wee case out, luckily on the soft sand. One of the guys gets a flat

Sandy Slide. Had bugger all gas here but will go again soon more prepared. This is pretty much my first look and putt around. Apparently heaps of tracks over the back in the pines. 🤙🏼

Thumpstar 140. Slopping a 190 Daytona engine in. It’s not as straightforward as it seems but when you know what your doing what an awesome upgrade! This is my mates track that is slowly coming together. There will be some good video coming out of this area 👍🏼

Forza 140 Pit-bike problems, diagnosis and fix
🤣12YR old Video still working it's MAGIC. Thank you for this bit of Knowledge. Darn bike was fine yesterday, today just a little pop , no start and noticed one header was looking different than the other 🤔even the ole pop start wasn't working. Just got one little fire and nothing.
@@touriston2wheels goes to show these bike are still popular. This bike still goes like it should. Thanks
Where do u get the parts I’m having the same problem it ran just fine the other day and now it won’t start
@@clintiverson4437 what parts are you talking about? Most parts are still available. They still make these bikes brand new in the states
LoL, I don't live too far away from you, just on the other side of the river just north of mititai
Any chance I can talk to you regards Nissan leaf batteries? I am in northland New Zealand
@@jasong7374 yeah I wouldn’t mind that. How do we connect without the world knowing though?
@@TheSlightlyaverage that is exactly what I was thinking, i could leave my number if you like
@@jasong7374 all good if you’re happy to do that 👍🏼

Same for me
This video saved my life for fixing a 600
Hi.......I also have a 2006 Yadonexr650R and I think that you are very beginner and your riding is not up to the level of this monster and I prefer that you stop joking with this dumb and hornless monster that will destroy you. Because you are very, very weak and this engine is not suitable for you, dear sir. I am upset with this video
Thanks very much for making this video, great info. I'm having a really hard time starting my 1991 XR 250 and I'm going to check if this is the problem. My question is do you think this condition (stuck pin) could be detected by checking and comparing the valve clearances on the exhaust valves? Also, is it the decompression lever that initially holds the button down when kick starting?
Hi, I’m pretty sure the 250 is different. I could be wrong. I would definitely disconnect your decomp and check the valve clearances though. The best thing you could do is a compression leakage test ✌🏼good luck
@@TheSlightlyaverage thanks 👍. Found an IPB for the top end of the 250 and it's a much simpler operation than the 600.
Also widely known as the Honda anti start mechanism, also what can happen is the cam follower slightly shifts to barely pickup the decompression cam also dumping compression this condition usually found on higher time bikes.
mine ran very hot over 300.!!. and couldnt get compression for a compression test. BUT STARTS NO PROBLEM!.. DID YOU SAY YOURS RAN HOT? WHY WOULD IT RUN HOT?
Na mine didn’t run hot, didn’t run at all. Fired once occasionally. Sounds like you’re timing might be wrong
I've got a Forza 140cc motocross bike my bro its mean and evil right now my bro 😊
Bro I own your bike now. It has a new updated carburettor. With new throttle cable. Seems to go a lot harder than before! a wheelie monster lol I like how you cut the back off. Helped me so much with my wheelies
All I can do is laugh as I get ready to take my engine apart again.
Yep that’s all you can do is laugh. It’s a good lesson in patience and double checking your work ✌🏼. Second time lucky 😂
I found this out the hard way. Buddy of mine was racing the quad with this motor and his timing gear bolts came loose. I jerked the head off at the track and sorted that. During I’d lost that pin and spring. So I just snipped the arm off the rocker and she fired right up and been fine since
Wow hard job to do at the track!! Go you. Hope you lock tight those bolts. Good fix, don’t need the decompression anyway, they start pretty easily. XR quad sounds loads of fun 💪🏼🤙🏼
@@TheSlightlyaverage I’m not a quad guy. I just had the van with tools lol. And I’d say that’s what they forgot was the lock tight. I did it all so fast I told him to take it apart and recheck it but seen him a year later and he said it was still fine. What’s funny is when I got back home and cleaned my van I found the spring and pin. I’d never been in one of these motors so I dint know to look out for it. There was another guy there said when you upgrade the cams they don’t have those and gave us the idea to chop that little arm off the rocker. I guess without the pin they just hold the valve open and without the arm it just allows it to pass. The quads that use that motor are the trx 400”s I think. Same motor tho. I guess the decomp would be useful on a kickstart setup. His still stated just fine
Thank you so much this is exactly what I need man
It starts but bogs down when I adjust one of the exhaust valve
does sound mean , what does it look like now, this being 4yrs old ?
Haven’t touched it lol. Looks exactly the same
nice terrain
Riding 5 minutes in sand equates to riding 6 hours on dirt😮 ...a poor sucker that buys your worn cogs😢
lol really? Are you talking about chain and sprockets or gearbox too? I’ve been through one chain and a front sprocket only. It’s all about maintenance buddy. And who said I’ll sell this bike….. I’ll ride it into the ground lol or sand haha. These bikes are 7 years old now, tough as 💪🏼
Well for a 5 year old bike 2 years ago... I now own the bike surprisingly.. THE bike from this video 😆. And it ran mint when I bought it. Just a slight bog issue that the future parts for these are now here. and chain tensioner bolt was seized. But it is a really good looked after bike. I’ve changed the carburettor to a new nibbi. And is now and absolute beast. I’m really happy with the way you e looked after this bike. Fell in love with it the day I seen it up north lol I raced from Auckland to get it. I couldn’t pass it up with how well it was looked after
@@satanisinmyblud8273 yep she’s an oldie but a goodie. Those rear chain adjusters are a dog, bad design really but they work. Some times I take the bolt right out of the swing arm and loosen the lock nut. The spanner just doesn’t fit aye. Dunno why she would be bogging but the nibbi carbs are goodies, can’t go wrong. The spare throttle and cable should work with that carb 👍🏼
@@TheSlightlyaverage I took it for a hard run first day I got it. I most probably got the carb dirty. But the nibbis are just easier to start with. She still kicked over first pop. Currently looking at a Daytona 190cc 😩 for it. Or even a pitser pro 190cc with 5 gears not sure yet. The Daytona seems like the more torque option, better for jumps and wheelies. Saw your thumpstar Daytona in person and I wanna do that to the bigfoot
My 1990 xr250r is hard to start
thank you bro that saved my lifeeeee
Hi i have a 140 bigfoot and the clutch isnt working gears wont change im a beginer any tips pls
Hi, good on you. Great fun can be had. Ummm pretty hard to say without seeing the bike. With the engine off sitting on the bike will it change gear, rocking backwards and forwards? Or is it stuck in neutral? If you have gears it must be the clutch, maybe cable or adjustment. Start her up and roll or get a push from someone while slipping into gear. You’ll have to find neutral to stop so careful!!
Glad to see you're having fun man enjoy your bike times haha :)
Thanks son. Always good times on the bikes 💪🏼✌🏼
if you have the owners handbook for this bike, read and follow to the letter the correct starting procedure, its not just get on and kick, find TDC plus one click, decompress and return the lever to normal position (closed) now full choke, no throttle and slow sweeping depression of the kick starter, or something like that, incidentally a few firms now make an electric starter for this bike, even the none battery version but if you own the battery version the kits are really easy to install, a new flywheel cover with built-in starter and some wires, you even get a new throttle body with built-in start button, kits about £200
Lol. I know how to start bikes mate.
Brilliant research mate
Yo brother I’ve got the exact same forza do you start the bike with the choke up or down?? Because when it’s on it doesn’t idle bro
When cold up, on. Otherwise always down, off. Make sure it’s not just the handle turning but the whole shaft cause the shaft can jamb
So when it’s cold start it with the choke up and when it warms up push it down??
@@petergriffin5292 yep 👍🏼
@TheSlightlyaverage hey my bike only runs well with choke up even when warm, but when i put choke down it boggs and dies
im trying to fix my pitbike last thing that ive got is a new carb but if that dont fix the problem im going to open up the engine which i have never done before XD
pit bikes are so fuckin cancer to fix im trying to diagnose my 150 ycf for like 0.5years now still no fix
how long does a full tank on a forza usually last 140bf
Good question. I’ve never run out. Sooo good on the Dino juice. Easily do 4 hours or more consistently thrashing if that is any help 🤙🏼
@@TheSlightlyaverage is 4 gears and are they all up?
Hey man, what exhaust do you have on that thing? Sounds awesome. Cheers mate
Thanks, yep great sound and performance. Big Gun header and silencer 👌🏼
Great videos!! I have a 95 XR600R and wondering if you have any information on getting the Clutch Cable arm out so that I can replace the seal. Located in front of the front sprocket with the clutch cable attached @ 8:09 in this video. Any information would be much appreciated.
Thanks mate. Great bikes. This old girl is still going strong. Yeah that lever, I’m pretty sure you just turn it back anticlockwise as far as it goes without the cable and pull. It’s been awhile though so I could be wrong. There’s plenty of rebuild videos on here that will show you Guaranteed 👌🏼. Do the bearing too mate
@@TheSlightlyaverage Thank you!! I didn't want to force it but I did not try rotating it yet. I'll give it a go tomorrow and see what happens. As for the rebuild videos, I'm not seeing them so i must be entering the wrong key words. Bike is a 95 XR600. Thanks again and cheers!
What air box is that and where do you get it from ?
Forza motor sport nz 🤙🏼
What air box is on your pit bike
It’s a factory Forza airbox. Different option from the pod filter. Keeps sand out
Where did you get your wiring harness?
It’s the original wiring. I just had to fix a couple of bits. The previous owner cut the plugs off 😠
@@TheSlightlyaverage Bummer! My bike was stolen and all the wiring chopped so i'm starting from scratch and going to build it myself. Any suggestions and tips? Thanks for the reply!
Jesus christ this spot makes all other spots look like its bitch, and ride all over Southern California
Yeah awesome place and…..hardly anyone else here ✌🏼
Nice riding.where is this.
Northland NZ thanks
Keen as to get back up for ride bruv
Absolutely 🤙🏼
Did the soft sand make you look stupid?
Dude! That's a life saver! Mine was stuck down cleaned a bit and it move smoothly. Now I have a problem with the timing, set the time in everything but in the top the left line and the right line doesn't align with the plane. I've tried everything, even pass a tooth in the chain, but it doesn't center. Keeps the line up or down. I've tried set the time after activate the cam chain tensioner.
Sounds like the tensioner or the chain and sprockets or both are worn. Set it so the marks are just past on the forward revolution 👍🏼. Will get her going but you should look at replacing chain
yikes.. that's why i don't ride anywhere but the california desert. I hate soft sand and grass.
My xr650l intermittently does the same thing but i figured out when its acting up and wont start with electric start that i can push start it and it fires up every time!
Dude how did you do the 2nd crash horrible
Yep was pretty bad. Chest planted the handle bars, was out of action for a bit. It’s hard to see but there is a 30cm mound in the grass right where I cut that corner. I think the forks hit bottom and threw me sideways as the bike went left lol. Was not nice as you can hear. Broken collar bone, 3 ribs and bruised kidney
Thank You!
what year
I’m pretty sure all the rfvc engines are the same 👌🏼
Wow , i felt both of those , i hate sand with a passion 😁 , more so on my BRP the 2nd off seemed as if you didn't know the track well , hope your ok mate luckily the old girl didnt land on you
Thanks. Yep first off is just the usual on sand. Good thing about sand is you don’t usually get too hurt but the second is on hard as f…k dirt and grass. I ride this track heaps but have never hit that rut before. Looking at the footage I’m very lucky the fat pig didn’t take me out. Could of been way worse!!
Banger video bro I make pitty vids aswell if you would check it out 🔥
I definitely will mate. Keep it up 👍🏼
thanks for making this video! i am wondering if this could be the same problem I am having. My XR600 will start cold and then become impossible to start when hot. I have tried everything else and wondering if my dowel is getting stuck when hot? When it does eventually start after I have let it cool down, then kick it, it runs well. Sometimes when it does fire up it then instantly dies.
Sounds likely. Could be a tight valve but you would of checked that surely. Get it hot and check the compression. Easy diagnostic. Thanks
Looks like a nice ride bro, go pros clear as always. Looking forward too more 👑
Yup looks like you could of hit a rut or partial ditch those things are hard to spot at speed aye, drop my xr650r at least once or twice riding trail.happens to most of us eventuall lol. but ohhhhh the power and torque.bike sounds crisp, rest up mate
Thanks for the comment mate. Love my 650, is usually so grounded and flowing to ride. Loads of power and torque. Yep been back for a look at the scene and there is a bloody great rut running along there. I just cut that line too much catching the front end. I actually chest planted the left side of the bars. Almost a 💯 again now 👍🏼. Will be wearing chest protector now. Can’t wait to get back on her!!
