One of the main cultural venues in the greater Kingston region, the City of Kingston's Grand Theatre serves as the prime performing arts venue for hundreds of professional and amateur performances annually including ballet, modern dance, theatre, variety, musicals, comedy and more. The Grand Theatre is a community-based, professionally managed civic asset that builds and fosters cultural vitality in Kingston. It creates a partnership between the City of Kingston and the community that sees arts and culture as an important component of everyday life in the City of Kingston. The Grand Theatre also facilitates and supports presentation and production, community development, artist support and the creation of partnerships and collaborations. HYPROV - Improv Under Hypnosis Featuring Colin Mochrie and Asad Mecci

Here’s how it works:
Hypnosis: An expert hypnotist welcomes 20 volunteers onto the stage. These “Hyprovisors” undergo hypnosis, a process that takes about 20 minutes.
Improv Comedy: The most receptive Hyprovisors then join a world-class improviser. Together, they create an instant improv troupe and perform the rest of the show-all while fully under hypnosis! The results are hilarious and unexpected, ranging from singing opera to juggling chainsaws2.
Audience Participation: HYPROV is the only show where an audience member becomes the star. Whether it’s your friends or even yourself, you’ll witness hypnotized individuals performing random acts of hilarity, guided by Asad Mecci and the improviser.
WARNING: Live comedy performances are unpredictable and may contain content unsuitable for young children. Parental discretion is advised.
