Well the. Atom ( Japanese made ) Came out before the Wyze pan V3 They are identical except for the speaker holes on the back I think Wyze must have made some kind of deal with them I like the pan V3 but They need to do a update and get some of the bugs out I have 4 but only 2 in use at the moment But it’s definitely not perfect yet Hopefully a update or 2 will fix its problems

Thanks for sharing. I don't recommend anyone installing this deadbolt for several reasons. First, it's Wyze, which isn't exactly known for quality, good customer support, or even halfway decent deadbolts. Second, it's grade 3, the lowest grade. Third, there's no manual key override. As a locksmith, I see (fix, and remove) deadbolts like these all the time. The electronic fry, short out, the plastic servos break from the heat of the sun on the door, and so on. When the batteries die or the servos malfunction, how are you going to get in without a key override? Spend your money on a good grade 2 or grade 1 deadbolt. If you're really concerned about security, spend some money and have a locksmith reinforce your strike and door. The Schlage Encode, for example doesn't have fingerprint capabilities, but it's a grade 1, has wifi, and new plus models have nfc. Also, the cylinder on the Encode can be switched out for a high security cylinder if you're really, really worried about security.

In many ways, not being on wifi means it can't be hacked over the internet or via a software exploit. Some people have severe concerns of having locks /cameras etc connected to the internet. Having no keyway means that someone can't swing by and bump key the lock or pick it otherwise. Most people will choose to use auto-lock with the device as well. However, I personally would not be opposed to notifications over wifi; or if they came up with some sort of wi-fi bridge for this device to give that reporting. I really think the main reason that Wyze decided against wi-fi was to avoid scrutiny plus it provides longer battery life. Adding rechargeable batteries would provide longer life, but also would have increased costs. I actually have a camera near the door anyways that I can use the PT function to swing to view the door anyways.. The biggest complaint I have - it really should have an option for other finishes, as I see many satin nickel and chrome variants, but rarely see black door knobs. It will just look odd, or spur purchases of matching door hardware.

They already have a full featured lock. It's double the cost. I just bought two of the Bolts

I appreciate that you showed how it's actually used, both the bolt and the software. I don't need to access the lock remotely and have cameras to see who's coming and going if needed, so this seems like a good solution for me.
