Times achieved when practicing for this event by time trials didn't bode well: some 3.6 s off P1 who set a time of around 1'41"7 . At that time, this is P32 of around 80 people who set a time.
Qualifying was additionally hampered by frame rate stutter resulting in qualifying only on P16.
Frame rate stutter was even more severe all around the track during the race.
Nevertheless, a good start made me move from P16 to P10. Gotten hit by the same car twice over the course of the first half of the race made me loose P9 twice.
Racing got added difficulty by kerbs which when touched by a tire pull that tire to the outside, easily allowing for loss of control of the car. This has been an issue in Barcelona already, particularly the kerbs on the left side at the beginning of the start-finish-straight. In Laguna Seca almost every kerb my car's tires could touch when "going wide" at corner exit exhibited that trait. "Driving around" this potential hazard in conjunction with a low maximum brake pressure to avoid lock ups probably led to my times around Laguna Seca being "off pace" and my race getting compromised.
