In this tutorial, we will be learning how to recreate the Bass sound that Of The Trees made in Spanish Moss. I love how melancholic yet powerful this bass sound is. Learning this bass sound unlocked new techniques for me, which I will be sharing with you in this tutorial. The techniques involve copying each sine wave from the original track in the bass and sub frequencies using serum's additive synthesis feature. This gives you precise control over the sound's harmonic content. Then we add a sine wave at a higher octave and run it through a saturator. It's a simple yet effective technique!

มุมมอง 1.1K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this video you can finally see how LSDREAM made his most iconic dubstep bass sound design. He used Serum but we can recreate it with any synth, including operator. Whoop whoop he’s back again
Much like
thanks for this!! love the channel!
why you on 11 still doggy
Goated tut
Good stuff, couldn’t you have theoretically gotten the 5th through raising the oscillator you’re using to fm up 7 semitones? And the plugin that gives that top end sizzle is erosion in wide noise mode with the width turned up at around 11khz
Yup! Just depends what harmonics you want to introduce & how hard you want to try lol
Super underrated channel
That means a lot man. Truly 🙏
This is so awesome! Could you do a tutorial on Love Rocket by LSDream for the part at 3:22. Much love 🖤
Thank you for the recommendation! I’ll definitely check it out :)
That one has a few layers to it! Would be a sick video idea :) Thank you
Epic!!
Hey if you could leave a quick “like” on the video that would be bomb 😊
bombdiggity
Absolutely disgusting. Ur a real one tysm 🤍

My boi making a living selling two sign waves through a saturator :D
😂
I’ll switch things up soon I promise lmao
@@ambshn nah man, two sine waves and a dream!
@@ambshn me viewing the Mona Lisa peacefully: Ambshn: Did you know this was made with two sine waves and a saturator?
Final result is at 9:41
Fuck that, PURPLE
O I a cat will come visit you tonight if you don’t take the blue pill
@@Evandaman1 Nah, id win
1: you did the meme wrong 2: it's terrible
Just take the blue pill bro it’s not that bad I promise
Bain tikle
No
Why you gotta be so serious QL.
Agreed, no from me.
Brain tickle
How do you have your SPAN presets set up in this? See it says "USER" and I have no idea what parameters you've changed to have it display that signal.
It’s always such a pain to find the mid-side option on SPAN. I don’t use it too often. I think I clicked on the “USER” option while I was trying to pull up the mid-side option. I didn’t change any parameters aside from switching it to mid-side
I’m so late to the party lol!
Definitely!!!! It's been too long🙏🔥
great video always wondered how LSDream gets these gnarly bass sounds. super simple video as well
Dude has two videos and changed my music career. Goated
That’s what I’m here for doggy g. HMU on ig!
Best video of all time?
Bass music?
many things missing from the tutorial I believe it was hard to watch the whole thing: things I had to do my own: turn up the damn sustain in the second osc to hear the second oscillator he doesn't explain this, and also doesn't mention to turn off the lfo section on operator or adjust the attack and decay times as well, BTW glide function between notes needs to be turned on in the "pitch env" section.
sorry man. I'll definitely do better on the next one. These were my first videos lol. I appreciate you sharing this feedback
Dude please keep making videos. Your teaching style reeally is helping me become a more refined sound designer. I’d love to learn more you. Definitely earned a sub
That's honestly my favorite thing to read, man. Thank you!! and I'll be back soon. I'm just in the process of moving lol
@@ambshn ngl dude i make Barely Alive and AUDIOWEAPON growls using Operator no cap
Second this! You have a great way of explaining things
Good idea man. Thank you !
this is sick
Awesome!!! Thank you so much, been wanting to recreate this sound for so long haha...
Right??? I felt like I had discovered fire 😂
Dope
I gotchu doggy g
Nice job bringing it together man, thank you. Ive also found working with sine waves in serum is very difficult. I think the serum distortion is pretty bad and ruins most sines
Something about operator sounds so clean 🧽
Crazy 🔥
Thank you!
JESUS FUCK, BUHD
got my toes moist with this one m8🔥
Lmao what does that even mean 😭
This sound making me sweat 🥵🙏🔥
That’s exactly what I was going for 😎
🦉🔊🔊🔊
🦉
I mean, definitely a good start to the sound. Have you played with layering/fx to actually recreate the bass? there's obviously a lot more going on than a sine wave. No hate, loved the vid
Hey thanks for the comment :) are you talking about the owl sound during the build up or the actual bass sound at the drop?
@@ambshn I suppose at the drop. Would love to see you dissect/recreate. I'm terrible at reverse engineering by ear lmao
@@ambshn I hear forms of saturation, white noise, etc but there's a million ways you could go about it
@@Fridgebass hell yeah. I’ll be doing that in part 2. I’m planning to post it soon. Life has been hectic. But basically this channel will be dedicated to breaking down main bass sounds of popular dubstep/dnb/midtempo songs
@@Fridgebass yo he just posted part 2 actually
First upload and I'm already subscribed. Great video man!
Hell yeah!! Sound design gang let’s get it! 🔥
Hyped for part 2!!!
I actually used pt 2’s technique in our track lol
he just posted part 2
🌶️🦖
🦉🤍
This some real big brain activity sir
Lmao it’s literally just a sine way
Stoked for the next one!
The next one is going to be dope. I’ll be showing my favorite bass sound ever. I’ve been using it a lot lately
Yoooo sick content man! We need more of these!!
You got it doggy g 🫡
