From the 1985 film. This ship or ships (Because the walnut ship would morf into the lightspeed ship) I always considered the designs very original, and still hold up today. Now the film can be watched as a period piece. Paul Ruben's did the voice of Max.

Excellent work. Palomino looks amazing! Wish we had snow…
Damn fine looking.
Cool stuff as always. What resin printer do you use?
Phrozen mighty 8K
Just WOW! LOVE your work
Thank you. I didn't make this model. But I am learning, and making al lot the upgrade pieces using 3D builder. It too is limited.
Hello there! I just watched your 1:6 scale TARS video and loved it! I wanted to ask if you could sell TARS because i really would love to own your work and id be honored to have it. It really looks professional and high quality. I would love to present it next to my 1:6 scale cooper that is coming soon and Dr. Brand too! Please let me know if you’re interested in selling or making one. Thank you!
@@maltememi_ Hello. Thank you, but I'd only sell it for a very high price, as it's a one of a kind.
@ can you please let me know the price you’re willing to sell it for?
@@maltememi_ $4,000 dollars.
Great work as always Randy.....
Awesome! What software are you using I am wanting to learn CAD for modeling. When I was kid we would build "mini" subs out of leftover model parts. I remember using a B-52 nacelle one time. lol. Jacque shows were the inspiration for the imagination!!!
My bad I read chitubox!
So much awesome! There were 2 dsrvs Mystic and Avalon. One stationed on the east coast one on the west coast. If you don't know a cool bit of trivia is their ballast system had a series of mercury filled tanks so they could pitch and roll it to line up with hatches.
Thank you.. No I didn't know that, and I love this kind of trivia. I wasn't sure how many DSRV's there are in the world.
@ ever see the movie “Grey lady down”? Late 70s if I remember correctly with Charlton Heston about a DSRV rescue. It’s not the worst and if I remember some actual footage of the DSRV. They were basically replaced with hard suits and diving chambers is my understanding .
@@FeralRabbit Yes I was watching "Grey lady down", and that's what made me look for an DSRV.
@@randallcooper3559 the DSRV is really a brilliant design using the mercury ballast system to allow it to hover in almost any attitude. I wonder how the idea came to the originator?
Mercury filled tanks. That's very interesting and smart.
Your Cutting Matt seen alot models Sat morning n it
models "Sat morning n it"? If I'm reading this correctly, your saying "My cutting matt has a lot of wear & tear, from a lot of models built on it?
I feel bad for those who can work on only ONE project at a time.....
I usually work on one at a time, but I'm having so much fun doing all 3 of these projects. I was going to scratch build 2 of these models, but It takes so long to Do scratch build models, It's great these are out there to have (With the exception of the Disney RM-1 rocket) The DSRV is a model I've wanted since I was 12 years old. And that's a Long time ago, when the Beatles were still together! lol.
super!! travail
My god, this thing could be screen used it’s so good
Thank you.
A true master at work, with all the correct expletives, thanks for the video 😉👍,i also like the longer format,if you can be arsed
I hear tell that ABS based resin is not as brittle AND that you can use a powered sander on the stuff. That's a fun size of the Yamoto! It's been a long while since you included us on a build like this. This is fun.
These longer videos are awesome! :)
I'll try to do more. Thank you.
Nice Palamino too
I love watching you work, Randy. Huge fan of your models. I wish I had 1/10th of your skill when I do builds. Keep up the amazing work!
Thank you.
Totally awesome.
Thank you.
That looks awesome! Your skills are out of this world!
Looks awesome, Randy!
Cool.
I've always wanted a version of this ship - can't wait to see what the finished version looks like.
FANTASTIC WORK AS SLWAYS RANDY..... GREAT THE COMMENTS ARE ENABLED.
cool model effect but now i'm sea sick from watching your camera work!
Very cool 👌
Can you make a tutorial on how to make a handle?
Not really. The site that makes and sell light sabers, has a library of parts, so I picked what I wanted, to make this version. I don't remember the website.
Needs a corduroy grip.
Nope. it would ruin the design esthetic.
@randallcooper3559 Looking back at the 70's. Was that not their intention? If not then they failed.
@@psychodboy1511 ... What??
@@randallcooper3559 stupid jokes. nvm
Straight up gorgeous
Do you have a suggestion for the best lightsaber anywhere from $100 to $300? Perhaps a tad more.
Not really. It was 6 years ago, so I can't remember what company I got this from.
Beautiful saber! It really does evoke a 70's feel. Nice!
You Sir are a master of your craft. Thank you.
That looks (and sounds) awesome.
unique saber I like it ! oh and nice to be able to talk to you now in the comments too :)
You should post a vid someday of your room of SW collectables showing them all!
I believe there is a video in on my channel, under theater room.
Very nicely done my friend neo pixel and 28mm speaker sounds awesome🫵😎🤙
Nice!
Cool Starship, really well designed and thought out. Love how you built it to how you wanted it to look like!
Thank you.
I remember watching Troopers for the first time thinking: "Man those must be some big models!"
I am not on this video because this is end of project time. I made so many models for this film mostly the smallest size models. It was the most fun time of old visual effects age.
Did you do the tiny Roger Young's, Tach fighters Etc.?
HEEEEEEEEEY......COMMENTS......ALL RIIIIIIGHT. HEY RANDY, LOVE YOUR WORK(S)....
Looking so good greeble goodness! definitely inspiring me too get back into 3d modeling again!
Very cool!
Will the cockpit be rotating from landing to flight? Love the design.
Yes it does rotate.
Can i buy this work of art?
I sell it as a kit. You would not like my price.
there's a round antenna that goes on the front. Check out "Colossus Pt.9"
Love the modified hole punch, that's a very clever idea.
If ever there is an Aliens and Star Wars crossover this ship would be in it. It just has the vibe that it's destined for a part.
Love something ROUND, like a big antennae, that contrasts the rest.
Dude......this is outstanding.
Thank you.
I am subscribing.Anyone who can put in that much love and detail into a model just shows what the TV series meant to many of us baby boomers. We got to see the reruns on Australian TV for decades so it was hard to miss. Your skill levels are astounding and I loved the Land Of Giants moment.Spindrift next?.
