O The Deep, Deep Love - jazz guitar cover
My friend, Bill O'Grady, went to be with Jesus in June of 2020. Bill served as a worship leader in a Sovereign Grace Church, and one year came to a Worship Matters Intensive. It was there I learned he was regularly working on jazz renditions of Sovereign Grace songs. He sent me audio versions that were so good I wondered about putting out an album of them one day. That never happened. But here's a video version of O the Deep, Deep Love of Jesus.
I still miss Bill and the joyful, faith-filled trust he had in his Savior. But I'm thankful he left a little of his music behind for us.
You can find the Sovereign Grace version here: sovereigngracemusic.org/music/songs/oh-the-deep-deep-love/
VERSE 1
Oh the deep, deep love of Jesus
Vast, unmeasured, boundless, free
Rolling as a mighty ocean
In its fullness over me
Underneath me, all around me
Is the current of Your love
Leading onward, leading homeward
To Your glorious rest above
CHORUS
Oh the deep, deep love
All I need and trust
Is the deep, deep love of Jesus
VERSE 2
Oh the deep, deep love of Jesus
Spread His praise from shore to shore
How He came to pay our ransom
Through the saving cross He bore
How He watches o’er His loved ones
Those He died to make His own
How for them He’s interceding
Pleading now before the throne
VERSE 3
Oh the deep, deep love of Jesus
Far surpassing all the rest
It’s an ocean full of blessing
In the midst of every test
Oh the deep, deep love of Jesus
Mighty Savior, precious Friend
You will bring us home to glory
Where Your love will never end

If Lydia Were Here
มุมมอง 3.4K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Years ago, I was deeply moved by the song, "If Lydia Were Here," by Michael Kelly Blanchard. Recently, Michael told me that it had never been recorded. So my daughter, McKenzie Fuller, and I put together this version in our piano room. It's a song that helps us imagine what a life that was never lived might look like. And it reminds us of this precious truth: “For you formed my inward parts; yo...
A Mother's Song - for Julie
มุมมอง 2.2K4 ปีที่แล้ว
32 years ago I stayed up most of the night before Mother’s Day writing a song for Julie, who at that time was mother to our four children. Since then God has given us two more. Now they’re all grown, and most of them have children of their own. This year I was freshly reminded that God has graciously answered everything I prayed for in this song. He has used Julie’s years of love, affection, pe...
Christ Will Be My Hideaway (Psalm 91) HD 1080p
มุมมอง 62K4 ปีที่แล้ว
As the coronavirus pandemic began to affect the world, my good friend from the UK, Tim Chester, sent me some lyrics he had written, taken from Psalm 91. He subtitled it: "A song for the coronavirus outbreak based on Psalm 91." I began working on a melody but couldn't land on something I really liked. So I ran it by a few people and after a number of lyric and melodic changes we ended up with wh...
Be Ye Glad - Cover
มุมมอง 36K4 ปีที่แล้ว
A very long time ago, I was in a group called GLAD, and one of our most well-known songs was "Be Ye Glad." It was written by Michael Kelly Blanchard and is still one of my favorite all-time songs. During the COVID-19 self-isolation season, my daughter, McKenzie Fuller, and I recorded a version. Hope you enjoy it. “Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of...
Learning Gospel Piano from Jarvis James
มุมมอง 2.2K5 ปีที่แล้ว
In the process of recording the Sovereign Grace Music album with Shiloh Church, "Behold Our God," I had to learn a few chords. My friend, Jarvis James, was kind enough to help me out.

Wow 🎶🎸🎶🎸🎼🎹🎼🎹🎼🎹🎶🎸🎶🇵🇪🌄
Amén 🇵🇪 🙏 ♥️ 🎼🎹🎼🎹🎼🎹🎼🎹🎼🎹🎼🎹🎼🎹🌄
I sang this song at my church the Sunday after 9/11. I lived in NJ at the time and most of us were somehow connected to a loss at the Trade Center. It was a devastating week and wonderful to be together that Sunday. This song perfectly captured the hope that we still had in Christ despite the grief, fear and anger. Now I am drawn back to this song and its truth in these uncertain times. I loved GLAD, saw you in concert (80's) and still listen to your music. Bless you sir (and daughter).
Are you guys from my home town of Hartlepool?? Wow God saved me from Heroin and Crack as well as many other things.. I am now free and serve Him ! ... Tell me more please 😀🙏🏻 Oh I may have got mixed up.. this song was in a playlist with Hartlepool written on it !!! I'm just longing for Christian things going on closer to me... Maybe I need to be those "Christian things" Maybe WE ALL DO!!!! ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊😊
Hello 👋 my name is Robbie Britt (baritone, vocalist) from Arizona. That was a Beautiful rendition of that song. I totally remember you from GLAD and GLAD Acapella, and still listen to your songs from that music era. Thanks a million for sharing. 👏👏
"Oh, your cry has been heard and the ransom Has been paid up in full, be ye glad" 😭😭😭
Beautiful! Very well done!
We love you two singing this song so much. I would buy a studio version and listen to it over and over again!
So beautiful and one of my all-time favorites! So much truth and healing in this song!
Oh my! How you blessed me so! “Every debt that you ever had, has been paid up in full by the grace of the Lord be ye glad be ye glad be ye glad!”
beautiful... i became a believer in Christ around the time this acapella album was released - and this song has been in my heart ever since ❤ arrangement, harmonies - heavenly!
I would love a studio recording of you two singing this!
So wonderful. Thank you 🌺🌺🌺
Beautiful version, Bob! Dad always spoke very highly of you and the shoes he had to fill in his time with GLAD. I listen to your tracks on Captured In Time often and just love the way the piano drives the mix (Light Up Your World, in particular). I've heard rumors that you used to play with such gusto that you'd snap piano hammers, lol, fact or fiction? I'm certainly not one to be gentle on the keys either... lol
Eric, great to hear from you! I think I might have broken a hammer once…but not normally. I respect your dad greatly! Thanks for your encouragement!
@@bkauflin ofcourse! Well I'm glad to hear you weren't on a piano rampage back in the day... guess I'm worried I play too hard now, lol at least I can't snap a hammer in a Nord. Ha!
This is beautiful. What does the line, "From the grave of the innocent Adam" mean?
The innocent Adam is a reference to Jesus. His grave is empty so from that empty grave comes a song bringing joy to the sad.
Such a wonderful hymn of trust in God's faithfulness and mercy! Thank you!
What a blessing. Just beautiful. Thank for doing this song…. Very timely.
Beautiful❤😊 love it so much! Greetings from Germany!
Still so encouraged by this song and praying for so many in the battlefields. Loving your singing and may we all have this assurance. Thanks.
please make it accessible on spotify/apple music.. more of us sinner need to repent and cry on it..
As a fan of Glad, I was so excited to find this rendition and YOU on TH-cam!
I found comfort in this song during covid, thank you for writing it! I know there's the studio released version now...but there's something super special about this one.
Very nice song do you have an email where we can write and ask questions about your book worship piano
What a Beautiful song! This means a lot to me. From the dungeon of sinful passions and desires, the Lord Jesus took me out and now, I can see faces of friends who are in Jesus. Soon I will see the Lord who paid that high price to justify and sanctify me. Mah his Holy name be praised today and for evermore. Maranatha!
@BobKauflin. There was a song I believe Glad sang-but I can’t find it anywhere. It was a lullaby I think. “The thunder and lightening gave voice to the night, the little lost child cried aloud in her fright” Does anyone know the name of that song?
I love this song so much that I'd smite the like button thousand times if it was possible
This is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard, the lyrics describe the scenes, the singer interprets them categorically, the melody of the song is soft and precise, leaving everything so harmonic! even the choice of final chords on the piano express a tone of hope that matches the last words of the song. What a beautiful partnership! What a beautiful interpretation! Angry! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I am absolutely delighted!
Thank you Jesus, you delivered us with love and power!
BEAUTIFUL SONG SUCH HOPE AND REASSURANCE IN CHRIST
Thank you for reviving a song that was and still is a favorite. I used to sing GLAD songs to warm up for band gigs in college.
More appropriate each year. Thank you
Thank you for this song Mr Kauflin. I still sing this song at worship with my son on the piano. It's truly a blessing.
Love this
was this written for you wife? Beautiful encourage words!
Indeed it was!
Love the sound of your piano!
I love this song....! Thank you....! The beautiful young lady singing with Bob, has a beautiful voice.....!! And her love for The Lord shines out of her....!!
Thanks, Rosie! That's my daughter, McKenzie.
Beautiful rendition of psalm 91...... All of you, singers and musicians, are a blessing to the body of Christ...! Love from South Africa...!
Beautiful!
A song for our time. Praise be the Lord!
This is a gorgeous musical statement, doing complete justice to this meaningful hymn. Thank you so much.
I keep coming back to this song - the lyrics and the presentation are so encouraging, thanks you so much for sharing your talents with us.
A year later, we need this song with it's profound notes, voices and most important words of Psalm 91 made alive. Thank you
Thank you For this Music Message! I've posted on other Video's and as always, Keep up the Good work in Jesus!
