Despite the similarity in design, they were designed for different functions. The P-51 was a fighter and therefore aimed to achieve the highest possible speed combined with great maneuverability, while the Super Tucano is a light attack aircraft (1.5t of weapons) capable of launching intelligent weapons, advanced training, armed reconnaissance and patrol - depending on the sensors you are carrying.
