A Buttonhole Finish for a Needlebook
In this video I go through all of the steps for one way of finishing the raw edges of a piece of needlework to make it into a needlebook. A needlebook is a pretty, portable way to store your needles. All you need is a small piece of needlework, preferably on linen (this method will still work on evenweave, but it is not suitable for Aida fabric), some #12 perle cotton. You may want to practice the fabric thread removal on a scrap of fabric, to make sure you understand the process before starting with a finished piece of needlework.

Needlepoint Stitches: Nova Stitch
มุมมอง 340ปีที่แล้ว
This tutorial is for a stitch that I call the Nova Stitch, since it's new (at least to me) and it looks like a big star. I came up with it to fit into a 12x12 diamond shaped space (October 2023). In this video, I stitch it using three different threads for a fun effect. It's possible that someone else has created this stitch before I did and if anyone has seen it before I'd love to know.

How to finish a small piece of needlework into a cupcake
I accidentally cut a thread in one of my bags and it's only a grey thread and suddenly there was a little bit of white after cutting that by accident is there a way to get that fixed I don't really know how to sew but is there a way to get someone else to do it or anywhere to do it
@@Anjali-bu2mk this video applies to needlework projects, so I don't know how to fix your bag, but you could try taking it to a tailor or seamstress to see what they have to say.
@gingerbreadgirldesigns7869 okay thanks mostly my grandpa and aunt knows how to do the sewing 🧵🪡

This is a wonderful tutorial! As I have been wanting to learn this (and do not know anyone who can teach me) I have been looking all over for a good tutorial and this one is it. It has given me the confidence I can do this too, so will definitely give it a try, thank you so much!
I'm so happy you've found it helpful! It's a wonderful finishing technique and I'm always amazed at how well it turns out. Happy stitching!
Amazingly helpful, wonderful tutorial. Thank you

What a fantastic tutorial on hemstitching!
Thank you for these stitch tutorials!! They area so beautiful!! You have worked them on canvas, could they be worked on Aida, and evenweave?
They could all be worked on evenweave.
Some may look sparse on Aida. My best advice is always to try something new in a small corner or "doodle cloth" to see how it works.
Caray! Que manos tan hermosas y tus proyectos son muy bonitos 😊 felicidades
Thank you very much! Those are lovely compliments. 🥰

Where do I find tiny patterns to stitch?
You can do a search for tiny cross stitch, or use part of a larger pattern. You just need two the same size with a backstitch border all the way around. My designs are available in my Etsy shop - GingerbreadGirlDes.
Ohhhhh my goodness👏👏👏 whodathunk!?!! I’ve never seen it heard of these. Thank you and I’ve included it on my wannado list🥰 ❤️😀
That makes my heart happy! Enjoy your stitching!
Lovely needlework!
Thank you!
What do you use a scissor fob for?
I like a fob on my scissors for a few reasons. First, it can help keep them from falling down between the couch cushions. I saw one drop between the cushion and the arm as I was stitching one evening, and when I reached in to retrieve it I found three more! Second, when I go to a class I always know which pair is mine. Third, this little pillow type makes a good tiny pincushion while I'm stitching. And fourth (and possibly most important), I think they're pretty and they make me smile!
Wow, I must agree with you!!!❤️😀
Замечательно,вроде бы можно и обойтись без этого,но я бы даже купила эту красоту. Вы умница. Спасибо вам!!!¡!!!
Thank you!
Thank you for this tutorial. I am very much looking forward to learning/ practicing this type of edge finish Your clear instructive voice and perfect camera angle and not rushed demonstration makes me think I can do this. Thanks

Hi Katherine, I love your channel. What size fabric you are using? Canvas?
Hello Lourdes. Thank you! In this video I'm using 32 count Permin linen in a colour called Sea Spray. It's stiffer than some other linen fabrics, so that may be why it seemed like canvas.
Wow, it's so neat to see how a pretty simple technique can end up with such a cool looking stitch. I love the almost 3D effect
It's a really fun stitch and very impressive!
Вот теперь все правильно. Удачи

Hi, I hope you don’t mind that I am reaching out to you about the beautiful couch caddy that you made for Hygge Stitcher. I hope you are selling those I would be so happy to buy one because I am so tired of dropping my stitchy stuff down in the arm of the couch. I’m not a great at sewing but if there is a pattern I would even be willing to try. I found your TH-cam in hopes to get one of these couch caddy’s but while typing to you I have to tell you while watching thank you I have always wanted to learn those fancy stitches. You are awesome about explaining the information for newbies like me. Hygge Stitcher also said because of you she doesn’t back stitch the same anymore because of your technique so I will be looking for that video. Thank you for your help I appreciate any help that’s possible.
Sorry I didn’t answer this sooner a I just saw it! Thanks so much for the compliments! It’s my Mom who made the caddies and she doesn’t make them anymore. She kind of made the pattern up, but there are some similar ones if you do a search on Etsy. Another tip - make some needlework scissor fobs for your scissors. They will help to keep those from falling down in the arm of the couch. I started putting them on all my scissors when I went “fishing” down there once and found three pairs!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😁😁😁😁🌷🌷🌷❤️
Very helpful instruction video!
Thank you Grace. I'm so glad it was helpful!
I’ve seen your caddy on Hygge Stitcher and am interested in purchasing one. Do you have a Etsy store? How can I purchase one?
