What can you do with 6 megapixels? Photo-walk with 20 year old Nikon D50.
I was given an old camera, almost twenty years old Nikon D50. And since I had one problematic 24mm lens lying around on the shelf, I combined them and went for a walk. My preconception about 6 megapixels was very wrong, these are good pixels.
Maybe this video will encourage you to grab an old camera and go photograph life.
All photos in the video were taken on this photowalk with a Nikon D50. I have processed the pictures but modestly. The halo-like effect in some images is due to the condition of the lens.
A bit about the camera for techies:
▫️ The body and ergonomics of the camera are good.
▫️ The feedback of the shutter button and the sound of the shutter is nice.
▫️ The speed of automatic focusing is questionable, but with one point spot focus it was sufficient for me.
▫️ The sensor with its 6 megapixels and CCD sensor gave quite nice colors, even though it has a lot of trouble in the dark.
The middle of the pictures is blurry because this lens (Nikkor 24mm F.2.8) is a little broken. It has been scratched in the middle of the lens and whatever coating there should be is either gone or about to disappear. The lens itself is nice, it is small and light. With a Nikon D50 crop sensor, it gives about 35mm shots.
This camera and lens combination is quite nice, small and light. Invisible enough and fast enough to capture something nice in the picture.
Video was filmed and edited by Tanel "Metsakuramus"
We used a Samsung S24 ultra for filming and the sound from it as well.
📍 Location of photowalk: Pelgulinn, Tallinn , Estonia, Europe

Joy of Street Photography with Canon G1X | Exploring Tallinn
มุมมอง 4.2K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
Come along on a fun-filled adventure through the enchanting streets of Tallinn, Estonia’s capital! In this video, I’m diving into the world of street photography, capturing the magic of medieval architecture, charming cobblestone streets, and all those hidden nooks that make this place truly one-of-a-kind. Armed with my old Canon G1X, I’ll be snapping away, finding interesting angles and captur...

I discovered you on Instagram. You know how to compose the photography! I'm really inspired. For your Nikon D50, your lense have a problem and hallo. It's funny that small camera which you have do better quality photo like this endommaged DSLR 😀 I really like discovery Estonia trouth your photo. The country did made big progress. And every is clean and mowed! Sign that country works well. I keep inspired and waiting your next video!
wonderfully relaxing just watching you create magic with your camera!!

i'm in love
I had the same car
I love these old machines... I only use old ones too, I like the results... congratulations on your work. Hugs from Brazil 🇧🇷🙌🏻
Funny format, positive) And many interesting solutions in a seemingly simple walk. I also often take pictures of the street and landscape, but I try not to put people in the frame - I sincerely do not understand and do not know what to do with photos of strangers on my computer) What do you do with them? This year I started shooting with Canon G6 - a camera of the same era as D50 and I am delighted with this camera! The manufacturer has tried to put serious functionality of DSLRs in it in an amazing way, but with a small matrix. And the lens there is 35mm equivalent, the same as the effective angle of view of D50 with a 24 lens. This camera is now very undervalued on the secondary market, because everyone wants G7-9-10-12, but not 6. Therefore, it is the cheapest, although it can do much more than them. I would share pictures on my page, but TH-cam does not allow links =)
Excited to see these here as well!
I have 2 Pentax 6 megapixel CCD cameras a * istDL from 2005 and a Pentax K100D from 2006 I use both cameras at least one week per month. With modern photo editing software my pictures still hold up against my modern cameras
buy it instead of looking like a wierdo in public
nice
Great camera, lightweight, and the ccd sensor takes beautiful images 😊 Still one of my favorites of all time ❤
Love your stuff!
Cool man, every time you prove that, physical quality of the picture doesn't matter when the composition, story and perspective quality is great.
@@L-FITNESS Indeed, that is well worded. Thank you :)
@@geiteero1217 Welcome😄
I wonder if this guy speaks English. Like actually though I know he’s from a foreign country
@@jaredjds2011 I do speak English, but im not so good at it :)
Ofc he does
How do you handle street candids? Do you ask for people's permission before/after? Do people ever get mad at you? I love candida but im always uncomfortable when I try to take them
I very rarely ask for permission when I take a picture on the street, and sometimes it happens that someone gets angry. But this happens rather rarely, and most of the time people feel flattered that their picture was taken. Especially older people who have become a bit invisible in society. Assume positive intent, you mean no harm.
Another great video, thanks! It's a pleasure to discover you local area and your country through your videos and pictures.
That is awsome to hear, thank you :)
You're one of my favourite photographers. Keep up the great work!!
Im humbled, thank you :)
Love your work keep going, and glory to nikon 🎉
Im humbled, thank you :)

woooow
My very first DSLR!
Thats a surprisingly good camera.
I admire you very much, greetings from Argentina <3
Im humbled and cheers from Estonia ❤

Love you brother! You are amazing and inspiring.
Im humbled, thank you ❤
Geit, how many cameras do you have now? 😮
Wellll....i have no idea. Lately people have started to give me their old cameras. But i plan to sell most of them, its quite dragging to have so many. And im in urgent need of money as well, to pay some bills :D ❤
Hey ginger doggy 🔥
This is zaporoszech car 🙌
Loving these videos! Reminding me to appreciate and enjoy the process, worry less about the final product. Subbed and waiting for more!
That is absolutely correct! I think you worded it really precisely, because to me it seems that if the process is about the "final product" its not about creativity. Its sort of like fulfilling precise order, not creating something. ❤
Vapustav🤌🏻🤌🏻
Aitäh ❤
