does the mount come with a bubble level?
Hey. I just bought it. Description says it has its own mobile phone app to control it. Could you please tell why ASI air plus is needed?
You can use either but the asiair is nice to have because you can do basically everything from it like control your mount, guiding, camera etc where as without it you need a computer to control the other stuff if you’re using a dedicated camera
Sir, does it require guiding? if not, how to maintain the moon stay in the FOV?
What if I were to use my Z9 or Z8 mirrorless, both full frame and shooting in monochrome mode? 🤔 And then shoot a couple of images with my Dual Narrowband filter?
Great! Did the day time conditions lose you much contrast? Or could, as it looked like you did, recover it?

I always thought a Celestron C 9.25 or 11 edg Hd is a very nice telescope. With hyperstar they are good on bigger objects too and collect light very fast
I would recommend a goto mount like the Star Adventurer GTI which is more expensive - but not a lot!
This is so cheap! I think JWST would be a better choice.
A good rule of thumb: you can never have too much mount.
Noise gets even less with higher ISOs, the downside is that u get worse High dynamic range. It just looks noisier because the image is brighter.
That gear is crazy. Am looking to try astro but only with DSLR and 14mm f2.8. Not sure if it’s a mistake, but don’t want to spend on a hobby I might not like or have time for.
Thank you for your comment! That is very smart. With a DSLR and 14mm you can get stunning shots of the Milky Way for example. With 14mm, timelapses look awesome too!
First
Eka😊
I started in April 2023 when I decided I wanted a telescope. I somewhat knew I wanted to get in to astrophotography. As a child in the 1960s I had a 2.5" refractor and live in Los Angeles, CA. I viewed Jupiter, Saturn and the Moon. No photography. Fast forward to 2023, I knew visual wouldn't keep me interested very long. I ended up purchasing a C8 SCT with AVX mount package on sale. While I'm pleased with the C8, not so much with the AVX but I'm getting by and since October 2023 I've managed to take photos of various galaxies and nebulas. The processing is a major part of the hobby and I have just scratched the surface using Siril, Sirilic, GraxPert, and Affinity Photos 2. This is what I like about the SCT. It's truly a multipurpose design. Great for planets, moon, galaxies, and smaller nebulas. For large nebula, instead of purchasing a dedicated refractor first, add the Hyperstar to the SCT and now you get 390mm focal length at F/1.9. Maintenance on a refractor is a lot less than an SCT. With the SCT you have to learn how to collimate the secondary mirror and you may hav to learn who to adjust the corrector plate collimation. I also use an Off Axis Guider (OAG) for guiding which is harder to use then a separate guide scope. I notice you have a CEM40? Would you recommend this mount for someone with an SCT? My main goal is to get stable guiding below 1 arcsecond. Thanks.
Hey! Thanks for the story and the comment! The C8 is a great scope, and I usually recommend it for visual observation and planetary imaging, especially for beginners. Its SCT design really shines in those areas. You are also correct that SCT can do so much more. It is just a challenging optical system to get perfect performance in all areas. Deep-sky imaging with SCT is more demanding, and good guiding is crucial for capturing quality images: 1. The scope's long native focal length makes guiding more challenging. 2. Since the main mirror in SCT telescopes has a "floating" design, it can shift slightly during use. If you guide with a separate guide scope, it won’t detect that mirror movement. The best guiding system for an SCT is an off-axis guider (OAG). We actually used GEM45 in the video. I personally love iOptron mounts as they offer really great machined mounts that are light weight and can carry a lot of weight. The greatest thing in them is that you dont need to be adjusting the wormgear distance every time temperature changes to get backlash off or striction problems sorted. For optimal guiding the basic's are important: 1. Good PA 2. Solid mount base 3. Not Flex in guiding system 4. Good calibration (12 steps with similar steps in PHD2) 5. No cable drag
As a child in the 1800's I traveled to space on a Chinese rocket and got a first hand look at the man on the Moon. Today, my soul just teleports anywhere I want to go so no more need for a telescope here.
My sincerethanks, this is a fantastic rundown for me
Thank you, so happy to hear that!
Yes while this is very good subject matter and good advice, it's incorrect in the naming of the reflectors. As the Newtonian Reflector can be mounted on a dobsonian mount or an equitorial mount. Actually it can also be on an Alt-Az style mount and the Dob is a type of the Alt-Az
good info thanks
Glad this video was helpful!
It looked so wierd to see your scopes pointing almost straight up in your house but then i realized you're in finland and must be 55-60 degrees north :-) Thanks for the informative video, you have a new subscriber
Thank you very much and i'm happy to hear that you enjoyed the video :) And yeah, 60 degrees here in southern Finland!
I'll give my first opinion, If it is heavy and you resist dragging it out on Fair nights, Then no! Get something you are egger to use. If that is heavy Excellent, If not you got Aperture fever and it will pass. Expectations verses realizations, You are NOT going to see anything close to Hubble
I wish i could keep my corrector so clean. Breaks my heart taking it out in the day time and seeing all the dust and dew stains :D
It's impossible to avoid dust :D Have you tried to clean your optics?
Very good.👌
Thank you!
Excellent video, and very well presented….you have a new subscriber….👍🏻
Thank you so much and happy to hear that :)
I just got mine yesterday 😊
Awesome! :)
I own one of these. It's a little pricey, but worth every penny. New sub!
Thank you very much! And we definitely agree :)
I think you just sold another ASIAir. Excellent video: thorough but concise. Thanks.
You don't have a hill !?
I like videos
F*ck, imagine having money... Life would be soooo easy 😢
Question : what is the interest of that filter as a quark chromosphere not turned on roughly give the same result ?
Lindas tomas amigo yo tengo un telescopio meade LX10 tengo 20 años de usarlo y la óptica muy buena saludos desde comayagua Honduras
Trevlig sommar! 🎉
Ghst❤
Very nice. I have left my scope set up to look at planets in the day but haven't done any imaging of them. Your moon looks great. Subcribed.
Moi Allu
I managed to make a 150 megapixel moon image, with a dobsonian telescope and a phone. So remember that you don't always need expensive equipment to make a great image!
Agree!
I'm doing astrophotography with 39$ Telescope and phone. Hell yeab😂😂
I just tease my bought it and am looking to get a telescope, do you recommend one?
redcat 51
I’d say the redcat 61 or 71 if you got the money
If you’re looking for a cheap option the Svbony sv503 telescopes have done me well
@ oo thanks, I originally wanted that one but it was too heavy with my r6 mk ii so I got the sky watcher evlolux 82ed instead. It’s good for the moon but for nebulae and galaxies I think I need to get the field flattener.
@@Bodhiscott22 nice I’ve seen that one and actually wondered how it was.
Muy buena camara y linda toma amigo yo tengo un meade LX10 y muy buen teléscopio tengo 20 años de tenerlo y la óptica impecable saludos desde Honduras
