I had a timer running for 9 hours of the painting, and then I forgot to do it, and then I just guessed on how long it took all together. This was a blast. Silver was awesome. I look forward to silver in future paintings! Music created by me.

I love this guy. He turned out just how I pictured. What a fun change, tiny to huge. Fun. In the final shot of this guy, I didn't realize there was a slight shadow on the bottom left corner, running up the painting.... but I didn't catch the shadow until after I posted. That looked like fun! The texture is neat. I liked it the best after the first step. But thought the experiment with paint paper and transfer onto the canvas fun and cool! Yeah not sure it is a keeper but a fun learning process.

I love the colours you’ve settled on in this! There is something so joyful about redoing a canvas that doesn’t quite make the heart sing and giving it new life. I’ve just spent the weekend absorbed in collaging over a painting I didn’t feel happy with and I love it now! Keep creating! Thank you for sharing Avery🙏

Thank you🙏 One thing I’ve realised too, is that the less hypercritical I am of my work, the looser I paint. I think my own procrastination comes from some need for ‘perfection’ and so now I’m trying to be more spontaneous, less controlling and not worrying if anyone else likes it! Taking this almost childlike stance and just laying the paint down intuitively is pure joy and I’m starting to feel the fizz again ( that’s what I call those little exciting moments when I think wow! Where did that come from? 😂) As ever, gratitude for your inspiring words Avery!

Inspiring words, especially as I’ve been in that place lately where I’ve spent more time thinking about what I want to paint rather than actually doing it! This will encourage me to just play with colour today and see where it takes me, thank you🙏

I love the way your painting turned out! It's colorful and vibrant. You're right about adding the shapes. It really makes the piece pop. I tend to overwork my art pieces. I guess I don't know when to stop and call it done. That's why I work on heavy paper. If it turns out to be a mess I can tear it up and use it in a collage piece.
Makeitstop, I love the idea of re-using something that you might not have wanted to keep. It's all part of the process. I say, the more you work on your art, the more it's gonna work for you. Try to view the idea that sometimes you don't know when to stop is a good thing, some people can't start. Id much rather "paint too much" than be unable to put paint down. Keep going. I appreciate the comment and good vibes are sent your way.

The whites really make this one. I see a couple of birds in the upper right. A tall swan-like bird and a short pelican- like bird both looking towards that cyan area
Love it. I agree completely about the white. I feel like adding white in here and there just helps the painting pop. Yes! I love how our eyes can see different things, and then once I hear something new, it can change what I see as well. Love the comment, have a good day!
