Prepare Peels: Wash and cut banana peels into small pieces. 2. Acid Extraction: Mix peels with water (1:3 or 1:4 ratio). Add dilute acid (e.g., 0.05-0.1 M HCl). Heat at 80-90°C for 1-2 hours. 3. Filtration: Filter the mixture to remove solid peel residues. 4. Precipitation: Add ethanol or isopropyl alcohol (2:1 alcohol to filtrate) to precipitate pectin. Let it sit for a few hours. 5. Collection & Drying: Filter the precipitated pectin, wash with alcohol, and dry below 60°C. 6. Grinding: Grind the dried pectin into a fine powder.
