Robert Mitchum was like the Tommy Lee Jones of that day. Could play good guys and bad guys equally as convincing. Go from drunk, to nice guy, to ape shit in about thirty seconds. Gene Hackman was the same way.
I was in elementary school, everyone else was watching things like XXX, Fast and the Furious, and other late 90s/early 2000s films, and I started my life as a John Wayne fan with movies like El Dorado, McClintock, Big Jake, Rio Bravo, etc.
I have it on DVD, enjoyable escapist movie. Must admit that I cringe at the 'injun fighter' comments and zoom past the James Caan 'Chinaman' caricature, they should have eliminated that scene even back in the 60's.
Robert Mitchum's son Christopher also acted in two of John Wayne's films Big Jake and Rio Lobo. Fine acting Family, both of them the Mitchum's and the Wayne's.
The Duke, Bob Mitchum, James Caan, Edward Ashner, Arthur Hunnicutt... what a cast! One of my favourite westerns of all time, and with plenty of laughs! 🥰🥰🥰🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍
At 1:08 there is a gun man holding a Colt Revolving Rifle. That was "British" model in .56 caliber. That rifle has a reputation as a "chain fire", the open powder in all the revolver cylinders could go off at once, usually blasting the left hand of the shooter off.
Arthur Hunnicut!
Don't laugh at someone
En español por fabor
Wow, the DUKE! John P.
Same plot as Rio Bravo to the point... Great Movie though!!!
One of the Duke's funniest lines , Mississippi said he was limping when he left , Duke says he was limping when he got here , lol
IF TH-cam OR ANY OTHER OR ANY OTHER INTERNET COMPANY STARTS SHOWING JOHN WAYNE MOVIES THEY WON'T KNOW WHAT'S HAPPEN TO THEM ! 👀✌️🦬😱🤪😁💯🇺🇸 DOC 🇦🇺
When a bad ass is needed there will be two.. great view of people doing the things they do... John wayne is the ultimate .

"They laughed at him Mississippi, that'll make the difference "... proceeds to punk out the whole crew like a stud. Love the dialog!
Wayne did two movies like this. One with Dean Martin and this one.
Best Western ever 👍❤️
don't make classic s like this anymore I've seen this film over and over great American western ❤
I loved John Wayne, but then I reached puberty.
They just can't make them like this anymore 😂
El Dorado and Rio Bravo, same movie, different players. THE DUKE Was in both.
El Dorado > Rio Bravo
This was a remake of Rio Bravo with Dean Martin . Ricky Nelson.Walter Brennan and of course the lovely ANGIE DICKERSON

What is the saloon song that plays from across the street when they're in the jail that Mississippi starts whistling?
Bad Bob Mitchum. He's the scariest movie Marshall.

The Cowboys was one of his best i reckon as well
@@stephenbartley8133 that movie made my Nana hate Bruce Dern for the rest of her life.
What movie is that?
El Dorado (1966)
@@mortytheorgre1500 thanks
Same scenario as with Dean Martin in Rio Lobo
Everyone knows...
My favorite scene! They don’t make movies like this anymore.
Love Robert Mitchums shirt. Must have borrowed it from Otis of Mayberry.
Bull Harris and Stompy. Referee and Judge Roy Bean. RIP Hunnicutt and Brennan. FreeState from the Revengers Arthur Hunnicutt.

Gran film...uno de mis favoritos 🇺🇸🇺🇸👏👏❤❤
I saw it last night. What a movie, folks
All these old western 🇺🇲🇺🇲📽️🎞️🎥was much better than the 🆕📽️🎞️🎥ones . These 🆕🎞️🎥📽️all suck🥵🤐
I still say Robert Mitchell should have killed him it would have kept the whole second half of the movie from hapining
lv them all';'
Hunnicutt stole every scene
Saw this in France dubbed with that French lingo while drinken a French margarita and a French burger but no fries
Robert Mitchum's son Christopher also acted in two of John Wayne's films Big Jake and Rio Lobo. Fine acting Family, both of them the Mitchum's and the Wayne's.
My all-time favorite Western!!!
This was recorded in front of a TV screen. I like the subject, but it's a crappy recording in video and sound. Just grab it off the disc.

"He was limping when he left." "He was limping when he got here!"
These guys didn't need to empress or even try to impede thier will just looking at them you new they met business with out even showing it
Al Dorado Very nice movies ٠٠٠
Al Dorado Robert Mitcham
Too mad to be scared and too sick to worry about it..loved that line
Lefty Asner and Wayne probably had a few, very animated conversations.
The piano player. Hoagie Carmichael. Same piano player in Casablanca with Humphrey Bogart.
Another good movie I have on DVD 👍
Good movie, but imo Arthur Honeycutt (Bull) was the one to make it so. One of the best character actors there ever was.
Mitchum clearly hit Asner on the chin with his rifle, yet the wound is over his eye!!
No he didn't. It is clear he hit him in the head. To me, anyway.
