I know what you mean but I've generally found it to be okay, you just use the white pen as you would a coloured ink one on white paper. That's a good idea, I will see if I can fit in an after the pen video 😊❤

Do you mean fusible wadding to go inside? If so, yes you can but you don't have to use it if you don't want to, it will work without but it can help to hold the brushes in. Or if you mean using iron on hemming tape instead of sewing it, that could work but it might not be very strong 😊

Yes it's definitely daunting to commit to a black paper journal but once you have a go it's not too scary, and there's more stuff that works than you might think, you just need to be okay with using white or light coloured pens for everything. Oh yes that sounds cool, maybe space or planets could work as its not season specific, or something witchy if you like Halloween 😊💕

Thank you! Ah yes, I've had Scribbles that matter suggested to me before so I should definitely check it out. I've tried tweezers with the stickers before and I seem to find it just as tricky, I just need more practice or something 😅 oh that's cool, I've never tried digital journaling before but have heard good things 💕

@@katencecreates Yeah, i know most people don't like digital journaling because the act of writing with a pen is more beneficial. But I have a boox note air 3c, which is a android tablet that has a color eink screen and pen technology built it. It also has a great built in notes software and I have so much fun writing in my journals on it. I could write for hours which I cant do on pen and paper. It's totally changed my journaling habit. I did import black paper with a dot grid on it for my journals which is so much fun to use.

@@katencecreates Yeah it's been so much fun trying to do what I used to on paper on a tablet. I never run out of stickers or washi tape now.

Omg! That's so awesome, I remember that book so vividly 😁 I don't think we had the colour theory one you describe but I'm sure I would have loved it too! Black paper can be tricky but there's more stuff that works than you might think, just takes a bit of experimentation. My September to December 2022 journal was also black if you wanted to go back to those videos to look for more inspo and also Savannah Scribbles uses black journals and her set ups are always so pretty ❤

Those books are such a core memory for me. I just googled them, and you can get them both on World of Books! The Ladybug and Other Insects by Pascale De Bourgoing is the one we both had (I think - it's the one I had, at least!) and the colour theory one was called, inspiringly, 'Colours' and has a very regal toucan on the front. Looks like there are a bunch more I never knew about, including on cats, birds and the seashore... Can you be nostalgic for something you never read??
