Lost 13 blokes on the trainasium on mine. Never understood why!

Gen Jon? As depot was in catterick at least 3 years before 98, i was in 2 para then in bruneval bks an never done a trainasium in the shot or in colly when we moved there.

Anton Spivack we add obstacles and change them every year, mainly the minor ones.

This was a temporary structure, purposely built for a tv show. As civilians no matter how famous cannot go on the trianasium in the ITC, so we built one, it only represented the parts of the trianasium that they wanted to replicate. , those however match the exact criteria as the original now situated in Helles Baracks ITC Catterick. It looks deiiferent as it had no foundations so was a feat of scaffolding engineering to build.

I went through Para Reg Depot (319 Platoon 1967). The height is about right - I think. The spars (poles) in this video appear to be slimmer. The Tranasium I went through was made of your ordinary housebuilding scaffolding poles (Aldershot). The two scaffolding poles at the top which made the test - had an ordinary builders scaffolding clamp placed on each pole that one had to negotiate. Problem was they were placed about 2 ft apart (picture it you lift your right leg up to get over one clamp then shuffle along and lift your left leg etc). A lot of guys found it difficult - I think they lost their sense of balance due to the height. I'm not blowing my trumpet here - but I found it extremely easy to accomplish - and I put it down to my working class playground of bravado stunts jumping from air-raid shelter to shelter in my birthplace of Dundee. I make a point - in my experience (I am in my autumn years now) the hardest of soldiers will forever come from the lower classes of our society - they are our unsung mainstay that excel without a silver spoon.

On the old Red Trainaisium no, when they built this new one in Depot Para, yes there was I do believe. On the old one (which I did in Junior Para in 72) the thing that stopped you falling was hitting the ground.!!!!!

No sorry , it took me three months to design & build for a 3 hour filming session, before we dismantled it, but it was worth it

FAIL! On my course a Gunner slipped and fell off and broke his wrist

YOU could slip/fall and break many bones and be off the course, EE,JIT !!!
