Absolutely, it makes me very excited! I think there will be a few more that will start spiking, but they are a bit later… Maby you will have a few more as well, who knows. It is always fun to have some Phals blooming!

I think indeed it was a bit warmer this time of year… And funny I do have just the other way around. My Bronze maiden does have two spikes and the Schillariana has one. But not 18 inch long yet. Maybe this year? A spike that long must be such a good show! :D

Yes, all of them. I must say that the Catt. Types and the Dendrobium Phals (the warmer growers) do not like too much water in fall and winter. So, I do not fill up the reservoirs to much. Also, I try to give the roots as much air as possible. That seems to help. I am making a video about this subject next year. I will see how it works for me this winter and if I do have that experience, I will make a video about it! :D but so far, so good. :D

I do have a ‘how I care about my Vanda’ video. Maybe I will do a shorter one soon. 😊 But I water them every Saturday and leave the water overnight and empty the pots on Sunday. They do get a soak for about 24 hours. The feed levels are around 200 - 250 ppm on nice sunny days. On darker, colder days it is around 150 - 200ppm. The rest of the week I do nothing! As long as the humanity is above 60, the roots should be fine.

@@TheOrchidSaGa Mine get soaked for 24 hours every third day, feed is a little higher (400) I use the same water for 2 or 3 weeks because it's a large bucket and filter takes a long time. They get a lot of light and humidity is always above 70. So they should flower (they do grow though 😁

I can cut into these net pots very easily. I do not have to break roots or anything like that. That makes repotting not that difficult luckily!

I purchased a mini phal, it has 3 flower spikes and one of the spikes has leaves on it, so not like a basal keiki but you know, where the flowers should come out, there grew leaves out. They do! They take up so much space. If I remember correctly, you have room for a grid on your wall in your grow room, left and right? I think it would look very good I think! 😉 :D

@@TheOrchidSaGa First Phal is in semi-hydro and I have a big piece of wire mesh 😁I tried it before but it can only be done when they are in semi-hydro otherwise the dripping would rot the crowns of every plant

@YnseSchaap well, I am not completely sure about that. You could make a self watering pot without the wick. In that case the 'reservoir' is only there to collect water and you will still have a wet-dry-cycle.... Plus the dripping problem is solved too! Plus no need for repottings!

Thank you! :D I do have a big container that holds about 13 gallons I think, I fill that up with RO water and add feed and adjust the Ph etc. In that container I have a pump with a hose attached to it. So, I water all my plants with a hose and that does make my life so much easier! Plus, I do grow mine in a self watering pot, I only have to water them once a week. To do all my plants (not only the Phals.) it takes me about 2 - 3 hours most.

That is nice question and I would like to make a video about it. Because it will take me a bit to make that list (I do not have time right now) And then I thought I can make a video about the sellers I did sell from and talk a bit about my experience with them! So if you don’t mind I would love to use your comment to make a video! :D So, you and everyone else as the list. I did get my schilleriana from Orchideen Lucke (Germany). Not sure if it was already blooming size but it wasn’t far off. Not a big plant yet. It will not be that easy to find a bigger one for sale I am afraid. You always can ask Debby from Orchids for you, She did have them for sale once if I remember correctly but also young plants.

That is why I said at a certain point you just need to “do it” and find out what works for you and your plants. I would definitely keep the background darker, not too bright. Good luck, it might take some time but your wall will stunning, I am sure! :D

If you grow slipper Orchids you need a collection of other type of Orchids too, so you can focus on those while waiting. And then one day 'Boom' your Paph. venustum is flowering 🤣.
