Longlegs, Alien Romulus, & Nosferatu

I was apprehensive about the possible failure of this sequel due to the losing streak of Pixar....but it did take 9 years to develop ....At last the current artists and writers got their act together and made a great family movie...none of the "modern audience" trap that plagued the previous movies. I entered the movie with anxiety but left FEELING ELATED.... And delighted.

It's been a while since a film has grabbed me like this. I'm really looking forward to seeing it.

Is the plot easy to follow like Silence of the Lambs or is there a lot of artsy stuff to interpret

Is nicolas cage's performance oscar worthy?

I’ve said from the beginning the marketing feels like Silence of the Lambs meets Sinister. Sounds like that’s pretty spot on.

I think the marketing is genius! We know it’s not going to be exactly as it seems. Remember marketing for hereditary? It was perfect and flipped the script.

When I saw Maika Monroe was in this, it was an immediate yes for me. I'm so excited for this film.

Excellent! I'm so glad to hear this has a lot more depth beyond the "unrelenting horror" that the trailers are pushing - don't get me wrong, I did love the trailers, but they don't give away much (which is a good thing!) The mystery surrounding this film has had me interested for some time! I cant get enough Nick Cage lately - he's on fire!

You had me at Osgood Perkins. And a stellar cast in what looks to be great horror/thriller. Can't wait.

Is the "Birthday Murders" website a big spoiler for the film? It seems to be covering some of the murders that were teased in the trailer but leaves most of the aftermath to the descriptions of the crimes and our imaginations. My take is that the murders featured on the website won't be explicitly shown or detailed in the movie (it is only about 1 hour and 40 minutes long), but they will be touched on. Also curious to see what will be added on the site next week. Anyone got info on this? Also, how good are the jump scares and gory moments?

I haven't been this excited for a movie in ages. I've never seen Cage doing such a character before, so i'll just have to watch it. I don't think i'll be disappointed in the least. Great review!

Alicia Witt! I was just re-watching Twin Peaks where she plays Donna's prodigy little sister! They cast her because she herself was a prodigy that's why she could play piano so well so young. Anyways I was asking aloud whether or not she still had a career so its cool she's in this. Also long live Nic Cage!

I haven't seen it yet, but the impression I get from the trailers is: Silence of the Lambs + Zodiac, psychological thriller with supernatural & occult elements, slow-burn vibe with some quality jump-scares. It looks really good. It actually looks pretty scary too. I'm excited for it.

I thinks there's a problem with people confusing "tribute" and " "flattery" "passing of the torch" Johnny isn't a rip off of Jason Voorhees and Freddy Kruger but he's their lovechild to horror to birth a new characther. Remember in Freddy vs Jason we learn Freddy's element is fire while Jason's is water, the trauma Jason and Freddy share and how they lash put against a community. Johnny was phresh, human, animal, psyco, genius, hilarious passing of the torch from the OG slashers. Give him a chance cause he's creative, aggressive, rabbid, and a breath of fresh air.

I enjoyed 'In a Violent Nature,' but the pace needed to be tightened up a bit. The movie is 95min long; could have easily trimmed 15-20min off the runtime (5 from final scene and at least 10 out of all the walking scenes). Other than that, it has a lot going for it; the kills, the effects, the killer, the lore and the camera work are all very good. I really hope it gets a sequel.

This movie sucked ass. There is one decent kill and a shit ton of walking through the woods. A 20 minute ending where literally nothing happens. Id rather watch Madame Web again.

An interesting film for what it is... there are definite parallels with Friday the 13th, but it had its own unique style! Could have been called "A Stroll Through the Woods" as approx 25-30 minutes of the film is Johnny walking through the woods, back and forth from the campsite 🏕, to the Ranger station 🏚, to the cliffs 🏞, and back around again!! 😮🎉 I did appreciate the story overall, but was a bit confused as to whether Johnny was buried alive and breathing through that pipe (holding Mom's medallion) or was dead and resurrected once the medallion was taken (?). 🤔
