regarding asghar at buttershaw upper school. He always thought too much of himself the dickhead i remember when they used to call ambitach bachan. Anyway the only problem with asghar was that he was full of himself. remember asghar no one likes a smart arse. You need humble yourself. Once a jack always a jack.

What about all the amazing building that have been constantly torn down? Yorkshire Forward, BCR and the Council are lying, thieving, crooks. The death bell for this city will be the knocking down of the New Victoria (ODEON). We could have a world class concert hall, we do it is already there, but halfwits with grubby hands want to knock it down for some monstrous new building that will no doubt be filled with shit no one wants, cafe? hotel? finance office? yawn. We have enough of those.

MY Bradford...how about a follow up video or speech Asghar (ALI)!? "WE Bradford?" Food for thought? Take your vision and your dream and think about a thousand people and a standing ovation...make your Dad even prouder...and make it awesome and ridiculous...with help from the PSA (Professional Speaking Association) :)

Uhm I've been to bradford once and there doesn't seem to be much reason to go again... so, this whole statement seems a bit desperate. Joolz, why don't you sit in some of the real 90% of bradford architecture and tell us how we can live there just as nicely as we could in, say, Lyon or Dresden or Rotterdam (or anyplace that isnt california)... because, yay, actually we can! :)

Why shouldn't she talk about the city she has lived and worked in most of her life?

This video was uploaded 3 years ago, and still nothing has changed. The only change is the huge number of holes dug up everywhere. More false promises and wasted time from Bradford council.

What a well presented & interesting vid. Well done Joolz. (Love your wool baron voice!!!) I love looking at old buildings - always have done (I'm 62). I think one of the reasons I didn't learn to drive until I was 40 was because I couldn't drive & stare at buildings at the same time. Haven't been in Bradford centre for a few months now but have suggested to hubby that we go in one Sunday & just have a good walk around - if it ever stops raining.

What a lovely, lovely man. His passion for our city brought tears to my eyes. I only hope that when all the work has finally finished in the city centre, we Bradfordians can once again be proud to call ourselves Bradfordians and when we're away from Bradford and are asked where we come from we won't say "Near Leeds" but say proudly "Bradford".

excuse me but dont tar all us bradfordians with the same brush...we aint all "dodgy".ive lived in bradford (the nicer end tho) all my life,i do think its turned into a shithole thanks to the council who only care about money.just look at the odeon for instance.a once beautiful building and now its turned to shit all because they wanna build a a new ugly concrete building to house offices and posh bars that will only go unsold for years like the rest of bradford

We should cherish the old buildings we have left in this city and just get rid of the stupid people in the council that are allowed to have ideas. Joolz is great, she's someone who actually gives a toss about Bradford and she's not even from here. SAVE THE ODEON.

I had to give this a high rating, just because I adore Joolz! You wouldn't know she liked Bradford, reading some of her old poems. ;) She's fantastic reading aloud.

Excellent! The appraisal at the end was very upbeat. Lahore Restaurant is good: I've eaten there. I've posted a link to this video on the Facebook "born at bradford BRI" discussion group. Good. Good.
