    • @KJMill3r

      Couldn’t be more wrong, even if you put more toxic in. 😂

    • @Charles-wz9sd
      @Charles-wz9sd ปีที่แล้ว

      I mean, they are good for the frontside of the mountain and that’s about it. If you ride backcountry or need a really stiff setup they won’t work for you. Step-on limit what boots you can use and what boards you can ride. Ankle flex toon is out since the heal locking point is way higher so street boards are kinda out the question and the step on x is not stiff enough for big mountain free riders. Basically your limited to a couple boot options and limited in setup options. Good for people all the way to intermediate and maybe advanced-ish but not for those pushing it.

    • @Charles-wz9sd
      @Charles-wz9sd ปีที่แล้ว

      In addition, step-ons won’t let you run splitboard setups since there is not enough aft movement when touring. Plus high powered riders already blow out high end boots in 50-75ish days. Considering that the setup relies on the boots stiffness quite a lot, they don’t work for those who puts a lot of power into their riding.

    • @Charles-wz9sd
      @Charles-wz9sd ปีที่แล้ว

      So yeah, considering that there is a lot of flaws in the setup due to stiffness and flex points. No one who rides hard uses step one. If they did you would have seen Zoe Sadowski-Synnott or Mark McMorris use them at natural selection. Honestly, Burton’s key riders uses step ons other than for promotional videos.

    • @bela2828
      @bela2828 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ReinLable i tried and they were super difficult to adjust to but after a week a i grew to like them more than my straps. the response was not just determined by the flex which threw me off, its a different feeling. ended up keeping them and havent looked back. this year was my third season and ive only had them since feb but i go once or twice a week at mt hood. i went with the escapade binding and ritual boots (the mens versions are the genesis and swath) because its the lightest setup in weigh with the softest flex (still medium stiff-stiff). ritual/swath also allows you to adjust upper and lower sections of the boot while the felix/photon does not. so my setup allows for some lateral movement when the top is looser, and when i tighten the entire boot theyre much stiffer. being able to essentially adjust the stiffness of the setup whenever i need is very nice. and leaving the upper section loose doesnt make it feel like i have less control because im still attached the board directly. the difference in flex and weight usually goes completely unnoticed by men but for women its very noticeable. stiffer boots and bindings for the step ons make it difficult to get any lateral movement for me, and other step-in style bindings that allow for more lateral movement with straps (clew and nidecker) are much heavier. my setup is perfect for me, but its not for everyone:)

    • @KJMill3r
      @KJMill3r ปีที่แล้ว

      That makes a lot of sense. I switched to softer step on boots (Ruler) and noticed a HUGE difference in control and the movement needed to get the same response on the snow. Amazing how changing one thing can throw everything off eh 😂
