I enjoy making and crafting everything. I do not have any formal training in woodwork or metal crafting but I do enjoy learning. I began this channel for my family to watch and see what I do and now I am inviting the TH-cam community to become apart of my extended family. I enjoy the feedback so comment away! All I ask is that you keep your comments clean. This is a family channel. Enjoy the videos!

Turning a walnut plate or a banana holder. You decide
Why didnt you just get an elbow?
The Beatles were prescient! Weren’t they? Who’d a thunk that way back in ‘69 they could envision a stunning wood bench arising from a pop song?
😂 still a great song! Not sure about the bench though! It is coming together though! Hopefully I’ll get it done soon and put out the whole video!
It is coming together. 👍👍
Slowly but surely!
I think you need to grow a little taller your feet barely touch the floor. 😊Looking good. 👍
I need Gavin’s genetics!
Only three more to go. 👍
Thanks for the encouragement! 😂
Only three more to go. 👍
Thanks
Makes for great family fun.
O’yeah!!
Can I get a woo hoo! 😂
I wanna ride😅😅😅❤❤
That’s my boy. 😂❤.
4 wheeler just don’t have enough power to swing him around!
I love the screams from Lainey. Looks like Gavin’s giving her a ride of a lifetime. 😅😂❤ so glad you got enough snow to play in.
It’s been fun. Wait for the full build… we might have wiped out! 😂
Great idea, thanks!
No problem!
😂
I wished!
Glad you got started. 👍
Finally convinced myself to get going! 😂
I threw mine away. The edge that sits on your work piece is beveled so the plate on your circular saw slides under the guide. I'm using a dewalt cordless. Whoever designed this thing is a moron.
It’s just a guide to get you close and it’s a lot cheaper than a track saw. That was my take on it. Thanks for the comment.
Makes me want to tell Bobby Cuttrell to grab a cup!
😂 making bubbles!
@johnnygsdiy1981 bubbles!!
@kevintolliver3525 😂
That cleaned up very well. 😊
Thanks. It works good to.
Makes me want to grind a cup.
Got to go get ya one!
Nice restoration, and a quality cup of coffee.
Thank you very much! It was a delicious cup!
Good on you for giving it a go, glad you came out of it safe. The bowl does look nice. Don't let the haters get to you. It's all a learning journey, using the right tools for the job usually helps/makes it less of a grind. Good luck with your next project.
Thanks!
Thanks for posting that fool’s ignorant comment! Guys like that are always good for a laugh! Great job on that bowl and you still have all your fingers!! 😂
Sometimes you just have such a great comment you have to let others read it over and over! 😂 thanks for watching!
Nice work man. Nice of you to post the negative comment at the start of the video. There will always be haters out there and you have shown that you move on and keep pressing forward. You have skill and an eye for detail. Keep turnin my brother!
Thanks. I get a good laugh from some of the comments and some just have to be posted again!
Beautiful. What is in that mason jar for finish?
Thanks. It’s a mix of bees wax and mineral oil. I made a video years ago on how I make it. It’s listed as cutting board finish. Thanks for watching!
hey there, great video. We just started learning to turn on a similar Shopsmith and I noticed you've DIY'd a better tool rest. Do you have any video of it? Edit: In re-watching the video I understand it better!
Unfortunately I don’t have any other videos on that. I have since sold my ShopSmith and bought a stand alone lathe. I sold it due to not being able to purchase any new parts for the mark v. All the parts I found were on eBay and I was not comfortable buying them because they were not new.
@@johnnygsdiy1981 Gotchya. Thanks. The sharpening wheel you had on the end, did you have it mounted in some kind of chuck attached after the pulleys? That looks ideal.
I used a little bit of everything around my shop. I used a random bolt I had and a washer stack up that came with a buffing wheel from harbor freight.
I've been looking all over TH-cam for a way to mount this thing that works for me. Thanks! Perfect solution.
Kinda janky but it works for me! Thanks for watching!
What a nice candy dish. Turned out great! See you very early Monday morning. First one there makes coffee
I’ll be there at 4:50! No more no less!😂
beautiful Glad you made it back safe
Thank you!
That's awesome!!! Need to put in an order for one!
This one is spoken for but I’m sure there will be more in the future!
Is that the bridge that separates LA & Texas?? 🤔
On I-20?
Close, but not quite!
Thank you.
No problem!
You really should never weld on a piece of machinery. You could damage the motor. Not so good for the plastic level either. I owned a Shopsmith. Not worth the time to set it up. Buy a good used lathe.
It was good for a free, but I’ve since moved on to a delta lathe and got rid of the ShopSmith. Weld at your own risk. 👍🏻
My poop is currently stuck
I just be glad when Johnny G gets to Texas. Johnny G’s at Texas, Johnny G’s at Texas. Quit messing around at Buccee’s and get yo-self here. 😊
😂
Oooooh....i think you've been locked in the truck with you kids for too long lol😂😂😂
😂
Watching you do that with gloves on makes me cringe. One mishap of the wood or spindle grabbing those gloves will change your life. 😬
Thanks for the reminder. There have been others that told me it’s wasn’t a good idea. I have not worn them since! I was a newbie back then! Luckily I listened to others advice and I still have all my fingers!
@ About 20 years ago I met a guy who’d been wearing gloves and the table saw blade grabbed the glove, sucked his hand in, and freed him of 4 fingers. Definitely a cautionary tale.
@@willtube61 most definitely a dangerous tool. I do my best to respect all of the tools. It just takes one mistake and you’re missing a digit!
I don't want a hole in my circle, how do you do that?😂
Draw the circle out and cut it freehand. Then sand down to the line. Or use a small dowel to plug the hole. Good luck
🎉Estupendo trabajo
Thanks!
I know what I’m getting you for Christmas now. A coffee mug😂😂😂
I’m pretty sure you already got me one a few years ago. 😂
Great ideas. I just got a "greatest Dad" shirt for Christmas
I’m sorry! I bet that’s not the first one you’ve ever gotten! We all know you’re the greatest dad, but we can’t be great without tools to operate! 😂
So NO more coffee mugs. Got it. 😂😂
One #1 dad cup is enough!
save some for me 🤤
Outstanding job Gavin. Your parents are proud of yo as am😄 I.
Most certainly a proud dad! We are blessed.
Did you let Gavin have any?? 😅
Him and Lainey ate 3/4 of it!
Great job fill the freezer, you want go hungry this winter. 👍
O’yeah!
So awesome!!!
Thanks, blessed to have a great son with a great aim!
Congrats Gavin, awesome job!
Very cool. 😃
Thanks buddy!
👍👍
That's a very nice shoe rack. My knees make the same noise.
Snap, crackle, pop! My knees!
Thank you for being my office neighbor.
I couldn’t ask for a better neighbor!
