Bill Hader and Penélope Cruz. Impressive casting right there. In all seriousness, I respect the downbeat ending. A lot of Christian movies are so preachy and "the good person wins because God" and that's technically not reality, faith doesn't automatically mean it'll all work out.

This is the problem in today's world where men have nothing other left but to be a slave to another man's business for money, and when all that fails they break apart while his wife also walks around in a 'man-suit', brings-in money and at the same time she still takes care of the kids and the house-hold-chores. Her husband 'John' is a real douche-bag, since instead of feeling sorry for himself he could have helped with the kids and the house-hold, after all his wife is versatile, too as a mom and should not be doing things all alone. The b!tch from around the corner does a real disservice to her fellow women while at the end it's the kids who suffer most from a separation when they have a good relationship to both, mother and father. Now all that 'just because of the money', while Mr. Feelingsorryforhimself should have man-ed up and support his wife hands-on with what ever needs to be done around the house, driving his children to school and picking them back up, actually mowing the lawn and doing some handy-work around the house etc. Doesn't 'John' feel stupid to pose as such a bad slacker-offer role-model through self-pity for his children as a father? I can relate to his wife's anger and frustration having to shoulder things all by herself, plus having the burden to deal with such a man-child who falls apart over a job-loss, not even making an effort to adjust positively to a new situation by grabbing every opportunity to what actually needs to be done, taking care of things that are 'right in front of his eyes', even if he doesn't have an income for quite a moment. A real man could handle it, even if it means to do the house-work for a while. After all, his woman is still bringing-in the dough, just how there used to be times when only the man went to work for money and the woman habitually stayed home with the kids, ... and that! was once considered a so called 'normal life-style' while out of my personal perspective it still is, because no-one can be at two places at the same time. Yet, it's expected of women these days (not from men!), and it's crazy! Instead of crying about his boat, at the beginning he should have found ways to sell as much unnecessary stuff as possible, luxury items that no-one actually needs for survival so to get the family through for a while, so to keep the roof over their heads. That's what a real man does, a strong man who will face problems head on with versatility, realizing that where one door closes, another one opens and this does not mean that looking for 'just another job' is the only thing to do in such a situation, then moping as a couch-potato for all the rest of the time. He acted very, very one-track-minded while also having fallen for this devil-woman from next door who has no respect for other women while that 'John' is a total weakling in character and mind. Maybe losing the job, it was God's hint to John to find his true self, giving him a chance for a transformation to possibly even discover talents that he has but never recognized and lived. That could have brought John upon a totally different life-path where money would have again flown-in as a welcoming side effect? Money should NEVER compromise ones integrity, not in regards to one's life-partner, children, or in regards to any other and especially NOT ever being the reason how and as what one values oneself. Not sure what inspired or motivated the author of this short-film to tell such a story, but if one cares to send a positive message into this already messed-up world, wouldn't it be better to tell stories of hope by coming-up with problem-solving ideas? ... hmmm 🤔 ..... and just saying ...

To be honest throughout the film I saw the husband a a baby-man with no backbone. He didn't deserve a good wife and children. There's only so much 'support' a wife can give a husband when his a lazy azz fool.

I would like to congratulate all the team who are related to this project. And i am so thankful to Luke Herchuk for making a nice video on the essential topic. I found everyone did a good job. The actors looked so professional. The screenplay was awesome. As a short movie, time duration was also okay. And the topic was so relevant in present christian practical life. It is so meaningful and helpful to all who have been suffering from this kind of circumstances. This video will be watched by every generation. Good film. Well shot and colour graded and sound/music also excellent.

Beautiful.. the way the parents react out of love brought me to tears. So many young men and women could get help if they were not so afraid to talk to their parents.
