Haserot Angel AKA "The Angel of Death Victorious"
Welcome to another episode of North Coast History and Haunts. Today's episode takes us to Lakeview Cemetery in Cleveland, Ohio where we visit the Haserot Angel or "The Angel of Death Victorious". The impressive memorial is cast in bronze and sits on a granite base. It was created in 1923 by Danish born artist Herman Matzen in memorial for the wife of Francis Henry Haserot whose family owned a successful food distribution concern in Cleveland, Ohio. Francis Haserot (1860-1953) was among Cleveland's wealthy businessmen at the turn of the century and is buried here along with his wife and four children.
It is among the most popular graves at Lakeview Cemetery. People reported feeling strong emotions when visiting this impressive sculpture. It appears to be weeping or crying due to the aging of the bronze specially around the eyes. Its gender remains in question and adds to the mystique. The torch is held upside down extinguishing the flame of life.

    There's something creepy about seeing the location of these missing people knowing something sinister happened within just a small distance between the person's home and the place they were heading/went to.... You're left wondering where the exact spot was where the person met with something chilling. In addition, they grew up in the area their whole life and must've felt safe, yet something brought it to all to a grinding halt 😢

    • @LarchmontDan

    Was that one KIDDY PARK, not too far from there, in existance, in the 1950's? Perhaps,she's buried, near there? That park is closed, for the season, so now would be a great time, to look?

      Good call. Memphis Kiddie Park opened in 1952 however there is a park next to the Kiddie Park that has long been tied to predators and other demons. This area was searched for Beverly during the investigation. I used to work very close to this location and would often wonder exactly "what if"...

    DUCK-LIKE walk? Did Beverly have sort of trouble, with her feet? Perhaps these performers, saw Beverly walking, and thought that they could amse an audience, by having poor Beverly, walk that way?😞.

    • @LarchmontDan
      @LarchmontDan 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Im not 100% sure on that but I like the idea of thinking outside the box if you will. I believe the entertainers were local high school kids so the idea of mocking her and otherwise subjecting her to ridicule probably didnt happen. But flip that coin again. What if the entertainers were grown adults, maybe they could have watched the crowd more and been aware of unusual things.

  • @danielwilkins7509
    @danielwilkins7509 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Not to accuse anybody, of a crime they did not committ, but since a TRAVELING show, came through town, perhaps some of the performers, caught sight of Beverly, in the audience, and came up with a story, that they were looking for some kids, for some of their productions, and thought Beverly should try out? Just wondering. Would most likely be performers, with criminal records, or noted, as showing odd behaviors, every now and again?

She was only a couple years older than me, so I remember seeing her missing posters around. I am so glad that someone is bringing attention to her story because I’ve always thought there needed to be a podcast or something about her. She was also originally treated as a run away and her disappearance wasn’t reported on in the local paper until a few weeks after she went missing.

      Thanks for sharing those stories! Hats off to the Murder Road Podcast team of keeping this story out there. I agree Sarah deserves to be remembered and hopefully her family can find peace and closure even after all this time. At this point I know it's a long shot but finding whoever did this would and applying suitable justice be a fitting end. Im not sure how much you are up on this case but I know the FBI raided her house (and the house next door that her Dad owned too) once the whole "runaway" story was proven false. Plus the whole letter seemed fabricated to me. Most reports don't paint her Dad in a very flattering light. The whole story is just so sad, lots of heartbreaks and loss, too much to go around. I know a lot of people are holding out hope for the DNA results to be announced when Kathryn Menendez was exhumed earlier this year.

    Initially when you come to the road and go left and then backtrack and go the other way, why not go straight along the side of that farmers field? You are 100% correct and that's what I did when I was driving (but not shown going straight in the video. I don't really like the way that turned out, it seems a little "clunky"), I was just trying to illustrate the point that he may have paused to decide what to do, which way to go. But judging on his past, you are probably correct in that he made a beeline to somewhere deserted out of town. Lots of fields, lots of dark, out of the way places especially as you head closer to the lake. I still have questions about this and would welcome any opinions. 1.) Did he intend to do this when he left the house? 2.) Did he have a spot in mind or was a matter of convenience? 3.) Did he have help?

I believe he took/did what he wanted and disposed of the poor girl. His insistence of taking her home was his beginning the plan. I grew up in Northern Ohio farmland and there was a couple of old wells and cistern that here dangerous to mess around near. My parents put the fear of God in me not to go near them and I now I see how easily one could fall in and nobody would ever know. But if you didnt know they were there it would take a long time to find them. I really don't think he was that smart and/or was never around them to know exactly where they were. IMHO, the murders of Hussey & Watters were not spur-of-the-moment shootings. Isn't it likely that in consideration of the killer's success in avoiding apprehension, I think we could expect him to commit future murders in similar fashion if these two murders were part of a series or pattern. Loved the video but listening to the narrator and the other person walking in the video is annoying. I don’t know about you but I can only listen to one person talking.

      Great point and I honestly it's sometimes difficult to know what to leave in or out. I did clip a lot of dialogue out but I still wanted the walking/nature sounds. Thank you for the feedback and I will watch out for this. 👍

    that first guy it seems as if he may be responsible for two incidents all through this video i couldnt help but think maybe the guy moore was the culprit of all incidents or at the very least knows/ or has something to do with 3 of the incidents i use incidents only because its generally a safe word to use in the comments section

      So Robert Moore was in prison when the 4 murders occurred but there have been whispering that he or his family may have knowledge of the murders but it's little more than reckless speculation. I think the prosecution team of Moore's trial would be excited to learn more about the cases during the trial should Moore lose his mind.
