Great video thank you....for the first fuse box that you checked..you checked the R12 cooling fan relay, should any other fuse be checked in that same fuse box for the same problem ( cooling fan not turning on)? Thanks!
Left his “customers” hood open and open parts laying out all night. What a great businessman 😂😂😂
Everything gets moved inside at night. Do you really think I’d leave my tools along with an open engine with the hood up at night outside…use your head.
Lmfao. People in the comments section think they know everything like wtf. First to make a negative snap judgement 🫣
People are outta pocket man
@@Thedealershipguy you clearly left the hood wide open along with all the parts just sitting out. Prolly destroyed your so called “customers” car. Do better!
@@Deadlybroom you are clearly a child. Go to bed😂
As for the ticking, engine was low on oil obviously. I added 3-4 qts and the noise went away immediately (lifters tapping is what it sounded like). We drained oil, inspected filter and put new oil/filter with an additive. Sounded perfectly fine and ran smooth.
I have a 2017 ford focus SE with the 1.0 engine. It is currently at the dealer for the oil pump recall. It was driving VERY poorly a few days before and then the brakes stopped working entirely. Hopefully the oil pump recall with cover any damages. Planning to trade it in for something else once I get it back. Great little car, just not happy with this predicament.
Any update? I think ford is reimbursing people now for the engines that people had to pay out of pocket for
are we looking at the miles?
Oil change, according to the sticker, should’ve been performed at 77k and the car is now in the 90k range.
Correct!
Would you say it's on par with 2012-2014 Ford Focus
Nope completely different transmissions, those at least you can easily rebuild with a 400$ clutch
Most people do not work on cars all day like you do. They have no idea that that is a crappy transmission.
Most people don't know any better, very misinformed when it comes to cars.
Ive got 106k on tr 580. Just changed my cvtf 2 fluid cause its 9 years old and oil shelf life is 5yrs. Fluid was prestine.....i think the big issue is quick lube shops pulling wrong oil drain plug during engine oil change.
I would never buy anything with a CVT
I drive a 13 year old, 180k km Toyota with a CVT and it's the most reliable car I've ever seen. It only had a couple of minor problems (alternator and valve lift controller). It's not about the CVT, it's the make that matters.
I owned a 2012 Impreza that had a transmission valve body go bad. Needless to say, the car I bought a few months ago does not have a CVT.
75k probably never serviced
Yep, you have to religiously change these CVT filters and fluid.
@@Thedealershipguy What would you recommend for a cheap reliable car, these days?
@@Apollyon67 Golf 😎 140k miles and just bedding in
@@Apollyon67 older Toyota Camry would be my choice
people would rather ride in a nicer feeling car now then have the same reliable one for years. common sense chases these people but they seem to be a whole lot faster.
Fix the car stop crying
Mechanics gotta be the only profession that are incredulous not everyone can do their job. Like if they knew how and/or had time you wouldn’t be making money lol. Don’t sell yourself short bub
Don’t get me wrong I love stupid people 😂
That was me for the last 2 weeks
You dont get it? You dont get that the customer doesnt know cars and has hired you to fix it?
Missed the point of the video, don’t let stuff go past there life expectancy, cause krap rolls down hill
pontiac, plus biden voter. people cant afford to maintain their cars because yall keep voting for thieving politicians lmaoooooooooo
If you're worried about this, you'd probably have a heart attack and die if you saw some of the stuff I have
You wonder why a car with defects is in your shop??
And needs shocks
Caliper is only pressing the inside and the outer is not touching so he need brake pads rotors and calipers
Recommend both calipers as well after the new pads and rotors. The left caliper was nearly impossible to retract, it was more than likely sticking which caused hot spots. The right pad and rotor didn’t have hot spots but was just as worn. So yeah you ain’t wrong
@@Thedealershipguy yeah I had one like that the other day and it was a left rear one and when I took it off the inside of the piston it’s came apart broken I was like wow they drove the van like that for 2 hrs I was like waaatt
Yep needs pads and rotors, do a jounce test on those shocks with the bad dust boots to actually determine the health of those McPherson struts, cause bad boots doesn't always mean bad shocks
Oem shocks with 280,000k on them 😂 I just advised to replace, since they did mention bouncy suspension. Couldn’t believe they made it that long
@@Thedealershipguy we can only go off details of the video, I was just stating a fact. I've seen those boots gone after 10 - 20k miles, especially in the rust belt where I live
It’s okay OP, if people who know anything abt cars, watch this video and can’t see what’s wrong then that’s their own problem.
“OP” this isn’t Reddit lmao.
@@tysonnochill5630the term ‘op’ isn’t exclusive to reddit
Like 10+ years ago I was kinda a 💩 head and I let my brakes get so bad that they got well past the obnoxious grinding and straight blew out one day at a stop sign and my foot went to the floor lol I even wore out my parking break by using it to help slow me down.. when u gotta go u gotta go! 💀
Been there done that 😂😂
Yeah, that’s probably why he brought you the car for service?
Yeah, I dont understand this video. What was he supposed to do? Stay home and not bring his car to you for service?
@@Allen-by6cithe point of the video is don’t let things go beyond their life. Could have very well saved 3-400$ if they would have changed pads out quicker. The rotors were still very thick and could have been resurfaced, instead they let pads go to far down to metal and warped and hot spotted the rotor. Not to mention now the calipers need replacing because they were overextended and won’t retract back.
I figured that was self explanatory. Brakes way past life, struts way past life expectancy. Has 280,000 miles on oem struts
We know what condition the commenters car is in now.
@@psym5570😂
Good thing people don't know what to start checking or wouldn't be doing this. Cant everybody know everything about everything. I'll come to you when my car's doing weird shit and you come to me when your laser's doing weird shit
What? You gave literally zero information. What caused it? What were you pulling out? What was the issue?
Brake pads way beyond their usage and the struts are so overused that the rubber parts of them are dry rotting off
@@TraeBaldwinexactly idk what this guy doesn’t get lol
@@TraeBaldwin thank you for being more descriptive than the uploader
@@Thedealershipguy i covered exactly what i didn't get in my original comment.....
Most people are not mechanics, and that's why you can charge whatever you want. If you want more views and likes, you have to play to the type people you do the work for
Greed is disgusting
Ain't got no oil in it.
midwest stoner activities
What an idiot
No comment.
I’ve showed this shot to at least 5 people and nobody could explain it to me. In 2022 idk how that is even possible
Just imagine how many ppl are suffering by those just to make the buy here pay here dealership owners dirty rich
I totally believe it. Banks and finance companies are all the lowest form of scum.
But how? In Missouri when we finance someone the very VERY top is capped at 29.99%.
@@Thedealershipguy Gee whiz. Only 30% for a used shitbox car loan? Somebody would probably need a credit score of at least 50 to get that kind of competitive rate. 🤨🤔😂
Engine burnt timing chain probably snapped due to lack of oil
Had timing codes, still ran fine after adding oil. Codes did not come back. He got lucky
25year ase master tech here. ALWAYS have a vehicle inspected before buying it. If seller isnt ok with an inspection then red flag run away.
Very true. We always let people take them for a third party inspection.
Lol how you gonna sell a car leaking or burning oil and then make a video about the customer coming back going wtf.
If you couldn’t see the customer put transmission fluid in the engine oil it was the customers fault
Or, it was the shady dude that sold them the car.
No, we got the car in before it went thru service (customer saw it on the lot and wanted to buy it) and advised the customer it needed a oil change immediately since there was no sticker showing last change. He ignored that completely (it was in writing) and drove an additional 3 plus weeks. Hyundais with high mileage burn oil there’s no way around that. There was also 2,500 extra miles on the car lol.
@@Thedealershipguy bro, dont act like you're not the ass in this interaction. The absolute least you can do is spend half an hour changing the oil before you go to sell it.
low oil doesn't determine a check engine light, and if the oil is that low weeks after selling the car, you sold them a leaking car and did not educate them on refilling the oil every now and again
No he drove 2500 miles extra on oil that was already needing to be changed. We advised him in writing when he bought it, it had not gone thru service yet and the oil change was due and he said he’d take care of it. He didn’t….and he had timing codes from lack of oil. Oil was put back in and went on his way.
What's your time estimate for replacement ?
Can you replace the plastic cover only if cracked or the entire cluster needs replacing?
On the actual cluster? I think you'd have to buy a used cluster they don't sell it by itself.
Very helpful made my job quick and easy👍
Glad it helped
@@Thedealershipguy someone changed the cluster and came to me to change the miles.. I never thought I would be so lost trying to take out a cluster on a Hyundai.. thanks for your service
Hi. My engine demaged because of this problem. What should we do. Its too much to pay for a new engine. If buy new engine will Ford give my money back? Because Ford knows the problem. Ford!! ,If you know and cant do anything now you should give a new engine for free... I am going to go to file a lawsuit.
You have to wait for the recall fix to come out. Per there recall website a remedy should be coming any day now
Worst engine to ever have blue oval on it🙄
very true, see them at auction all the time with oil pressure light and timing codes. Indication of oil pump failure. Easy fix...if the camshaft isnt split in half lmao
How much was this kit?
around 2.5-3k If I remember. I have it for sale lol
Does the cluster have to be reprogrammed after installed or just plug and play?
Depends, if you are getting a whole new cluster from a junkyard.....with different mileage than your car has then technically yes. It'll have to be programmed to have your cars mileage. There's services on ebay where you send your cluster to them and they change the mileage to the correct mileage. But this isn't necessary if you don't care if it has the wrong mileage. You can plug it in and it'll work just fine. If you are just unplugging it to gain access to something else and are plugging the same cluster back in....you dont have to do anything.
$6,800 without the transmission? 😮
What turbo kit is that
Just about to do this install on my C5 in New Zealand. Thanks for the video it was very helpful.
