Calculating SPI index using R studio | Video Tutorial
Hello Guys,
In this video I will guide you through the R studio interface on how to determine the SPI index from precipitation data.

Steepest Descent Method | Visual Examples | Computational Technique | 1.1
มุมมอง 6094 ปีที่แล้ว
In mathematics, the method of steepest descent or stationary-phase method or saddle-point method is an extension of Laplace's method for approximating an integral, where one deforms a contour integral in the complex plane to pass near a stationary point (saddle point), in roughly the direction of steepest descent or stationary phase. The saddle-point approximation is used with integrals in the ...
Conjugate Gradient Method | Computational Technique | 1.0

In mathematics, the conjugate gradient method is an algorithm for the numerical solution of particular systems of linear equations, namely those whose matrix is symmetric and positive-definite. The conjugate gradient method is often implemented as an iterative algorithm, applicable to sparse systems that are too large to be handled by a direct implementation or other direct methods such as the ...
Please! How to solve #REF! when editing? Why 1978 -A in the table?
The title is correct, this is the conjugate gradient method to solve systems of linear equations. Remove the background music.
Lovely video, i wish u could please remove music in the future
great explanation but the music is so bad
Thank u so much, it was very useful.
Hello. How can you help me? I don't find months on mine.
Nice video! I liked that you explained it 3 different times at 3 different levels. Also, I liked the background music. To each their own.
How to change the study period in your file, would appreciate your quick response
great work but you did not solve the example ? and also remove the background music
the music in the background is so disturbing bro
this video is unwatchable
Hello. Why i can not see months in the result?

Hello. Why i can not see months in the result?
thanks a lot.🥰🥰🥰...wow wow😍 very interesting and useful video🥰
Very useful video and the Excel file sheet! Please, if you prepared a different kind Excel sheet for SPEI, kindly share with us.
Nice explanation but it would have been nice to turn down the background music a bit
Hi. I get this warning when I type the formula spi3<-spi(projectSPI$prcp,3): [1] "Calculating the Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI) at a time scale of 3. Using kernel type 'rectangular', with 0 shift. Fitting the data to a Gamma distribution. Using the ub-pwm parameter fitting method. Checking for missing values (`NA`): all the data must be complete. Using the whole time series as reference period. Input type is vector. No time information provided, assuming a monthly time series." Can you help me? Thanks.
Good vedio, but it is all about steepest descent method, while the title says 'conjugate gradient method'! I don't think these two are the same...
Thank you very much for your video on SPI. But, I have a question, that how to add missing values.
HI Thank you very much for your useful video. I noticed that there is some difference when you were calculating the monthly rainfall values here. I think it should be a monthly rainfall value, not a monthly daily average value. Each monthly value represents the total rainfall amount for that particular month. If possible please check. Thank you so much
Hello, I got SPI values but there are no months included along the values. How can i fix it?
Hello, have you figure out this problem? I am having the same issue please
@@yusufsidikarasuwa241 Still not yet but i believe it is in the coding of the upper left console, in his "Untitled7". We have to set values for it to display the months
Great work, Continue this valuable jobs !
Music made me leave your video. And that does not seem to be conjugate gradient method.
hello I like your video, I would like to modify your Excel because my chronicle 1984-2021 but it gives me Error when I pass 2017
Good morning, I ask for your help, not the PROCH function, how does the 1978 appear?
This is not gradient descent !!! Please don't do things like this. Remove the video or change the title
This is not conjugate gradient descent, this is steepest descent, please change the title of video
This video made me so happy. Very well explained. Gold.
Thank you it's so supportive video.
you makes a good video ...thank you ..!! what about Combined drought index (by using PDI, TDI, NDVI)INDEX how can i get it ??
Please keep the volume low of your DJ
I support you for your good information
Thank you very much for your interesting video. Please, I would like to know how did you set up the spei formulas in the different sheets to get the plots directly after adding data from R?
Thanks a lot this was very helpful. How do you then interpret the spi values ? do you like find the average spi value which you can use to draw conclusions?
This is most definetly NOT the Conjugate Gradient Method, but rather, the Steepest Descent method.
Hallo, can you help me process SPI data? I want to ask for an example of this processing in this excel
Deceived. No drawings, no intuition, only equations I can find anywhere.
watch next video
why music in the bg? it's an educational video and I got headache and it's Steepest Descent Method
The background music is super annoying.
Seriously? Music background to an education video?
I have 109 stations, for which I have daily precipitation values. Please tell me how to prepare data from this for SPI ??
Good video, but large red arrows were annoying!
@Red Fish I got a REF error from 2018 to 2020? what to do for that.
thanks for this amazing explanation
please how can I modify the horizontal axis value, to use dates instead of numbers?
shitty bgm. so distracting
Is that necessary to use all monthly rainfall data in excel sheet or I can take 5 months data (may- September)
Sir,which version of R studio you are using?
