Happy New Year from Canfield Family Farm!!
Watching this while making oats for supper 😂
Another Awesome Canfield Family Farm video. Good job Elijah's
Thanks man!!!
When do you combine them ?
We combine them about a week after we swath them.
I think there is a pent up demand for a new manufacture pull type combine that a 150-200 hp tractor could work with
Absolutely
Another awesome video
Thanks bud!
how many small square bales did you get from a big round bale?
Usually we get about 18 small bales from a round bale. Sometimes that number can vary based on how short the hay is.
I like to mention no JT The Ag Guys where harmed in the production of this video
Como puedo conseguir una
You need a bigger shop
I definitely do. But the funds for that are not sufficient at this point in time. Also that shop has been the home of those tractors for many years and was the shop that my Grandpa and Great grandpa also worked out of.
And if your a diyer u can make own decals with a cricket sticker making machine or find someone with one u can get to make u some if u live in Canada I can ship u some from my grandmas machine
I have one can’t find any videos on it if u have Facebook can I follow u I’m 17 did top end on it and wiring need help getting her to be smooth try’s to run away on my idles really really high only in neutral once I get in gear goes normal and launches forward when I shift into first

How bout that! you planting Oats and ours are days away from Seed heads emerging....

Part 2 is out! th-cam.com/video/4vBGaB3t6j4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=tjgeveNVa-YJKZab
Another thought being that I am at home recovering from a heart surgery due to metal valve failure,. I am bird dogging for a friend of mine who specializes in water management for farmers. The results changed my cousins farm drastically for the better. Any interest in getting more information
Great video. Be blessed and have a safe planting season
Thank you! You too!
The material that falls out during the conversion process was at first loaded ito a front end loader and dumped in a low wet area.... But we were approached by a neighbor with Cattle and asked if he could get it to feed his cows...... Deal.... $100.00 a 14ft dump trailer load..... They inhale it!
👍
another great Canfield video
Thanks bud!!
love the new camera
It’s in excellent condition for 40 years old!
How would it go with a small turbo?
I don’t think they made a turbo for that engine.
Get ya a 12-15’ Brillion Cultipacker to pull behind that JD Drill. There are a quite a few guys that run that style of setup, either behind a End Wheel Drill or a JD 1560/1590 15-20’ Drill, and behind Other Brands such as a Landoll, Great Plains, Sunflower & Krause Drill. th-cam.com/video/gpBU8mvHICc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=XZTyUVmj1A-kwWBg
Nice plow! It looks great
Thank you very much!!
Sorry about to editing mess up at the end of the video.
Wait it folds I literally had no idea
Slow down your camera movements. It is hard to watch.
Thanks for pointing that out. I’ll try to slow down a little.
Keep up the great work buddy. Can't wait to see the spring videos
another awesome video
Thanks man!! I’m so glad you were able to join us!
You would think that if they can cast these they would cast them for the distillate models.
I’m guessing the reason they don’t is because there probably isn’t a big demand for them since most People started only running Gasoline.
How many hours does it have?
It has roughly 10,000 hours on it between two tachometers.
You guys own a JD ATV??wow those are pretty rare!😍 in general...you guys seem to have a nice fleet of deere.:)
Thank you! We try our best to keep them running strong. Since this video we have bought a 2nd 757 Ztrak Zero turn mower.
I put over 4K miles on a new one back in the day. Great sled for the time and technology of the time.
Yes indeed! These sleds were ahead of their time. My Dad’s cousins rode those sleds back in the day too.
Looks awesome
i love the tractors
Do Steiner Tractor Parts sell turbos? Maybe put a turbo on one of the old girls?
As much as I would love to put a turbo on those tractors. It’s just not something that I want to modify on them at this point. I’m trying to keep stuff like that original.
Should get that Oiler Working, it puts Oil Directly on the Crankshaft Bearings, pretty easy to work on, might just need cleaning out and New Lines.
After running it some more I’m pretty sure the oiler does work. And also cause the guy who we bought it from said to start out by running premixed oil and gas.
@@CanfieldFamilyFarm Might wanna Pull the Carbs and Visably check that there's oil coming out on both sides, the orifices are so small they clog pretty easy, easiest if you pull the spark plugs out and spin it over with the recoil or with a drill on the clutch.
Sweet
The 300 is a 295s motor. You should search for the twin pipes and twin carbs. It’ll make that 300 as fast as tge 440 liquifire
Thanks for the info! I’ll have to look into that!
That’s a clean old liquifire. I’d love to find one of these.
Me too
nice old sled john deere version of the kawaski 440 invader
Yep! Although I personally think the Liquifire looks better than the invader.
Nope, Deere made their own sleds in horicon. The only thing it has in common with the invader is the 440 kawi motor.. and the 295 in the 300 is a kiortz engine
Did you build the conveyor and gearbox setup?
We actually did not. We bought it from a company in Georgia called Simpco. They build hay conveyors and round bale unrollers.
Where did you get the parts I have a f20 sitting in peices all I need is a piston ans sleeve
So back when I started this project I looked all over for brand new pistons and sleeves. And I. Found that no one makes then. So we found a guy who had a set of new old stock pistons and sleeves for sale and we bought them off of him. I would recommend seeing if you can get any old sleeves you have polished and honed. Pistons can be an easy find after that. Every other part I got was from either Steiner tractor parts or rice equipment.
What width?
The Lemken is 13 feet wide.
@@CanfieldFamilyFarm is the tractor correctly sized for it? I have a Heliodor 9/350 and tractor shopping. Worried I'm going too small.
@@oddioneThe tractor we’re running it with is a John Deere 8310 and it’s a 205 horsepower tractor. It works well for the job. It could definitely be weighted down heavier in the front but in order to do that would require a 3 point on the front. A slightly bigger tractor would definitely be a good option also!
@@CanfieldFamilyFarm and Lemken says 88-140HP for a 3.5 meter!
Just depends how deep and what sort of ground work you want to do. We have a heliodor 9/700 three point. It's all our 8100 can lift with a full rack of weights on front. We're only working 3 to 4 inches deep on untilled ground at 6.5 to 7.5 mph. On worked ground you can go faster, but 13th gear is an odd shift.
FYI. The tractor was only running on 2 cylinders in this video. Since then I have adjusted and tuned it to run smoothly on all 4 cylinders. I have updated videos of it now.
Crazy how much that 08 tornado destroyed. You guys have definitely bounced back
Yep! It’s been a long journey to rebuild and clean up!
