How can we help?
Very good information on schedules. showed me something I did not know. Thank you.
I'm trying to rotate my plans to fit into the sheet and clean it up for printing so I thought to duplicate the view and ness with the one I want to print. The problem now is that when I delete a window or some other element, it deletes on the original as well. Is there a way to fix this?
Hello! How are you trying to rotate it on the sheet? By rotating a scope box/crop region or with a drop down?
@bimtechmngt I was rotating the entire floor plan. I tried rotating just the crop box in the sheet but that rotated the annotations and the grid letters as well.
@@kahidris Did you try rotating with a drop down?
@@bimtechmngt I'm not sure what that is... I rotated with the RO command though.
amazing and really quick too :) thank you so much
Hi, after setting up the Area A & B, is there a way to change the shaded region on multiple sheets? Right now I need to go to every sheet and tick/untick the Area A/B on the Properties tab. Is there a way to do that on multiple sheets at once?
There's a couple different ways to handle that. We can create a follow-up video to help answer your question!
i already duplicate view WITHOUT dependency, then i tried to deleted floor slab on duplicated view but it also deleted on original view ? any solution for this ? should i remodell the floor to not cut the beam ?
Hello there! All modeled elements (floors, walls, windows, conduit, pipe, equipment, etc.) are a part of the model and are visible in all views (with some exceptions for example: view range, visibility of model category). If a modeled element is deleted, it is deleted from the project and all views where it would be visible. Analogy - If you have a camera in your living room, all of your furniture is the modeled elements. You create another view (Duplicate, Duplicate with Detailing, or Duplicate as Dependent) this essentially will add another camera. Now, if you remove (delete) the couch, the couch is gone from both cameras.
What do you mean about cutting the beam?
@@bimtechmngt Im sorry, but it happen only on floor. If i try to delete like the other element for example the Beam or Column, it just removed from the duplicated view, but remains intact in the original view.
@@bimtechmngt Well you know, when floor intersect the beam, it will cut it off the section depend where i put the floor
@@myonice.3097 I am not sure I am following you here, I apologize.
you are making amazing youtube video content, I just watch it the video and your video quality is appreciable, I am so impressed by your content I watch channel and noticed that you are struggling with video views and video ranking me I share some tips on how you can achieve your goals.
I got my key plan to work in the families editor. I am having trouble understanding the steps you are taking from the part where you create the key plan instance where you can turn key plan off and on to where I can get the letters to show up in the project
Do you have a specific question? I would love to help you with this.
I figured it out by watching your video again. Thank you so much for putting this video out!
THANKS
Solved all my question. Thanks!
Low hanging fruit conduit length maybe, but when the shop guy can save several hours doing a take off is super valuable
You're right! Sometimes even the low hanging fruit can be valuable!
@@bimtechmngt I mean when I pick apples or peaches I don't get a ladder out so I think low hanging fruit get an unfair rap lol
🌹
🌵
Thanks for that. well explained.
Is there a way to change to be independent from the parent view? If yes, what does it do to the views?
The easiest way would be to duplicate with detailing the child view.
Thank You❤
What if I delete something on the original? Will it reflect too on the duplicate and duplicate with detailing?
Define "something" modeled elements yes, annotation elements no.
So if you draw in the children view View specific element they wont show up in the Parent view?
Anything you draw in the children view will show up in the parent view.
What if I delete something on the original? Will it show up on the duplicate and duplicate with detailing?
“Until then we’re just going to deal with what we got” ….i felt that
Thank you! So using the first two options I will be able to make changes to the floor plan without affecting the original? This is a renovation project and I want to maintain the existing conditions.
Heather, that isn't really best practices. If you are going to be doing a renovation I would suggest utilizing phasing and phase filters. Feel free to reach out on our website we would be happy to connect.
Excellent video guy! Gave me like five useful pieces of information I've been trying to find on/off in no time. Very appreciated.
No problem at all, let us know if you want to see anything else specific.
how much should be the ram as I am using navisworks and after sometimes it does closes. I have 16gb RAM and still facing some issues.
I would run 32gb of RAM minimum
Thank you, I agree with @ExiledEntity, Best Tutorial on setting up a key plan, there are a lot that don't show how to turn it off/on sheets you don't want it on, again Thank you for taking the time to make this and share you knowledge.
how do i get two extrusions to act parametrically with each other?
Haha, you're funny!
Best tutorial for this I could find. Thanks.
Awesome, glad to hear that!

Thanks this helps alot!
How did you adjust the elbow rotation with the control?
With the chunk of conduit selected, left-click the control and hold down the mouse button. You will be able to adjust the conduit as needed by moving the mouse. Let us know if you have any other questions!
Thanks🙂
Thanks it would be better without music it’s annoying
Yeah, it was a bit much... Thanks for watching and let us know if there are other topics you would like to see!
if i change one objects category both obj categry chnges why
I believe that will happen if you have the two elements joined.
