Shelter cat became MOM to a lonely meerkat😻!
A miracle happened at one of the shelters: a shelter cat named Mila adopted a meerkat! However, there were 2 tragedies that led up to this happy day.
Meerkat Surik was surrendered to the shelter after his owner realized that keeping him in the apartment was too much and the aninal was really unhappy. Meerkats are highly social animals and are very sad when left alone.
And Mila lost her kittens in labor a few days ago. And her instincts were still working. She searched for her babies and found them in the form of a naughty meerkat. It was an instant connection! 2 lost souls bonded instantly. These two, though completely different species, became a family!

It makes sense that she immediately could tell that the imposter babies weren't hers. Cats are very scent oriented when dealing with their pack. So she could probably smell that these were different babies right away.
