Where did Trey Jorski finish?
This is a link to Jorski’s race results for all races this year and his final standing for the season in Vintage and Post Vintage. resultsmx.com/ahrma/racer.asp?n=4181
Thank you. My husband Michael would watch Trey tear up the expert class in the late 70's while he was stationed at Tinker. Michael raced the open amateur class.
Was that the Age 80+, 2nd gear only, 2500 rpm class?
that glob of mud hit just in the wrong place... good video cut the first 2:25 minutes it would be very good.
what is camera dude riding? YZ or RM?
enjoying your vids
I held my breath the whole time!
Very nice ride!
Good video! - Could you share the year and ID code of your air-cooled Yamaha? Does the serial number begin with 3R4? I have an IT250, but want to go to YZ parts, like crankshaft, piston, cylinder, maybe even the frame, mine is a 1981 or 82 (IT is air cooled), but I think the closest YZ to it may be a 1980. Thanks! Enjoyed your action shots!
Hi there! Thank you for your kind comments! The bike in the video is a 1979 YZ250. It has an IT250 cylinder. The frame and ending serial number starts with 2X4-
nice ripping
🎉🎉🎉hi great channel from old vet who love classic old scrambling 😊😊😊
Your bike is so slow it doesn't have a top end so boggy take it home figure it out its so slow weird bike
🤣🤣🤣
Did realize they didn't have bottom end back then
tolle Leistung.
Great work! I appreciate all the details and the work done to the tank. Just curious, were the knee scoops hand hammered or cut and welded? It looks like a plate was also added near the back crotch area of the tank. Looks amazing!
Yes! A plate was welded on the rear of the tank and a mounting tab added to the frame to raise the rear of the tank 4”. Hand hammered coves. That I you for your kind comments about the bike. If you like this one, look up Medusa on my Instagram. @craigjackson512
hey guys! the 5am... IS THE SICKEST. Is that the original motor?
No. It is a 1988 model engine. We also used a 1988 rear wheel.
@:34
I got this bike a few days ago because of you!
Awesome!!! Build it and have lots of fun riding it! I love this bike!
Nice build, which yamaha is the tank from? 😊😊😊
Great work on the bike and the especially on the tank, how did you do that mate?
What fuel tank is that? It looks awesome on that bike!
You should have made the build videos to
You need to open your gas line or if gou got no gas open the reset valve and then first try starts
Seat cowl and exhaust need work looks like a cheap cop out and the devil will always be in the detail
for the rear shock absorber what is this model?
YZF600R. It is taller than stock. I had to cut the top mount point off of the frame and move it from the bottom to the top of the cross bar of the frame. Other than that, it bolts right in.
@@jackson4tube ok,merci beaucoup
Okay, do we need to make any changes to the steering column?
Yes. On the frame inside the neck, take the top bearing race out. Leave the bottom bearing brace in place. It will hold the new bottom bearings in plae.
@@jackson4tube ok, thank you very much for the info
superbe ,quel modele de fourche svp ?
Merci Bruno! c'est d'une GSXR 650 2006
@@jackson4tube àh ok merci des modifs a prévoir pour la potence ,dimension des roulements etc ?
650 cc ?
désolé, c'est en anglais GSXR to CX500 steering stem made by CognitoMoto.com plus new bearings. All balls 99-3512-5 on the bottom of the stem. 99-3541-5 on the top of the stem. Press out the old stem using a 33mm socket to support the lower triple directly under the stem. Press in the new stem using a 1.5" steel pipe to support the lower triple directly under the stem.
mon français n'est pas bon
thats a nice bike!!! I'm working on a gl500. What tail light did u use? Love your bike
CBR600RR rear tail light with integrated turn signals - eBay - $17.09
Quel est le réservoir ?
Yo no lo necesito! Está adiós!
Thats a bad bitch bro. Just got a cx650custom. <3
Awesome!! Have you made progress on your build?
No se ve la pura moto
Awesome build .. where did you buy your exhaust system?
Hi Eric! Thank you for the positive comment! I build my own exhausts. These are 1.5" outside diameter with a 1.5 to 2" transition as the tip under the engine. I also tune the exhaust for sound and to prevent the reversion wave from going back up into the exhaust port and affecting the power.
I'm thinking about buying this bike as a project starter but I'm not sure if I'm tall enough for it to be a comfortable ride. How tall is the rider in this video?
Hi. The rider is 6' tall. I am 5'10" tall. I am nicely "bent knee-ed" when sitting still. The GSXR 600 front end dropped the front of the bike by about 4". The rear has a new, longer, YZF600R rear shock, but I moved the upper mount point to be about the stock hight. The rear subframe was lifted in the front by about 2" and in the rear by about 4" so that it matches the angle of the tank lines. Depending on your hight, you could adjust the front and rear hight to meet your needs. Hope this helps! Build it anyway!!
Looks awesome man. I love the exhaust.
Thank you sir! I appreciate your comment! The exhaust was a lot of fun to make. It took a lot longer than I expected though. Took me two full days mock it up, tack weld it, polish it and then weld it all up. The final product is very satisfying!
Nice build, what tank are you using. I'm working on a gl650 and need advise on what tank to use.
The tank is from a Yamaha XS750. It is not a direct fit. It is modified to fit over the front 2 engine mounts. It requires quite a bit cutting and brazing.
Thanks where can i get a tail section and the seat. If you have any info i can use it. Thanks in advance.
I made all of that from scratch. I cut off the original subframe and built new by hand.
I love a clean build, 90% of builds look like amateurish shit, nice job, but not a fan of open headers.
Hi Alberto! Sure man. It didn’t take much. Raise the needle by 0.065. I used two tiny washers that would fit inside the slide and over the needle. Turn the pilot screw out 2.5 turns.
jackson4tube thank you
Hi, can I ask you a little help? how did you set the carburetors?
Sorry man. I just saw your comment with questions… The only change I made from the stock (or whatever settings were already done to the carbs when I purchased the basket case of a bike for $300) was to set the Pilots to 2.5 turns out. And cleaned all the crap out of the carbs of course...
this looks like cx500
Yes. They are very similar. The engines are almost identical on the exterior. The GL650 has a completely different frame and rear suspension configuration.
Nice bike! I am currently working on a CX650c, could you show a closer look at the top attachment of the rear monoshock? To ensure clearance with the cones. Thks
There are lots of pictures of the build on this page. Near the bottom there is a pic of the rear showing the shock mount and the cones. The rear upper shock mount is the standard mount, just cut off and remounted to the top of the cross bar. develigence.com/Hamilton12Customs/GT650R/index.html
I love it
Hi Emma! Thank you for the comment. I love it too!
do u have a pictures of your frame adaption?? please
Yes I do. All the pictures of this build are here: develigence.com/Hamilton12Customs/GT650R/index.html If you need more pics or better info, let me know. Glad to help.
thank u man, nice job, incredible!!!, my bike have almost serial number just the last ones is 508, where u put the batery and cooling recipient?? thanks
Thank you sir! I appreciate your comments. The battery is under the frame just behind the exhaust pipes. It’s where the center stand used to be. I removed the coolant overflow bottle and just ran a new tube down beside the radiator where the clutch cable goes down.
@@jackson4tube it is very generous of you to give out this information. I have a Silverwing that I want to turn into a cafe racer, you done a beautiful job.
Nice build! I just bought a GL500 and want to do something similar. What rear shock did you use on your project?
It is a Yamaha YZF600R rear shock. I cut off the stock top shock mount from the cross brace and moved it to the top of the brace and repelled it so the shock would fit and have the correct ride hight.
and you were still able to fit air filters in there?
Yes. 2 cone shaped pod filters.
Where did you get your seat from?
I built the seat pan from steel. Glued on foam. Shaved it down to the shape I wanted. Then drew lines on the foam where I wanted the stitching. Then took it to a seat cover guy to make the seat cover look like the line drawing.
The battery is in the black box under the frame just behind the exhaust pipes. The voltage regulator is hanging upside down under the seat beside the shock reservoir. The starter solenoid is mounted on the frame next to the mono shock. The ignition bos and the rest of the wires are under the tank.
Thanks man! What can you tell me about that rear seat setup? Looking right!
Here is a link to my last GL500 project... this time around in addition to the under bike battery box I’m thinking of making a shallow tray under the seat ... th-cam.com/video/7HVOiD7_KXU/w-d-xo.html
Hi! Thank you for the comment! The rear seat and tail are all hand made. I built the stainless steel seat pan, then glued down the foam. Shaped the foam to fit the profile I was looking for. Drew a line drawing of the stitch pattern on the foam. Took the seat to my leather upholsterer. The tail is stainless steel, sanded with 60 grit, then clear coated. Under the tail is a CBR600RR tail light with integrated turn signals. Under the seat and exposed so you can see it from the rear view of the bike is the original voltage regulator, painted black and mounted with stainless steel screws.
jackson4tube really clean work! What is that tank off of if you don’t mind me asking? Doesn’t look like the common cx500d tanks
Thanks man! It rides just as good as it looks too! The tank is from a Yamaha XS750. Had to modify the bottom pretty heavily to fit around the frame though. But, it looks fantastic, IMHO. It is much narrower than stock and has similar coves to the CX500 tank. Makes it look like a skinny bike with a wide motor.
Where did you hide the battery in the electronics? Just started a GL650 project... thanks
Sexy! Did you finish her up?
Mikael Hessellund Mikkelsen Yes. th-cam.com/video/Dlec3R1MTaM/w-d-xo.html Http://DEVELiGENCE.com/Hamilton12Customs/CX500R/index.html
Figure on building 2 sets my CX brother!
Wow, thanks for that...keep em coming, still not satisfied LOL. I have a CX650E I'm getting ready to start on.
nice bike i have a 83 GL650 silverwing. i really want to do this to mine now! but i dont have the tools or the resources. how do you find complete front ends and rear ends?
Hi mikeyhanch0 - I get the front ends from guys I know that part out bikes and from craigslist. Just negotiate hard for a good deal. The rear end: If you mean the seat and rear fender, I made that myself out of steel tubing and sheet metal. If you mean the swingarm and suspension, the swing arm is stock, but the shock is from a YZF600R. I cut the stock rear shock mount off and moved it to the top of the cross bar that it was mounted to so the longer YZF600R shock would fit.
Good job! Love the look and the sound!
Thanks man! The ride is even Better! She is very confident through the twisty back roads.
