    If this dryer has a "thermostat" -replace it as there is a good chance it is not working properly resulting is too high temperature which will blow the thermal fuse.

    This video helped me figure out that the sealed system probably had a leak or obstruction and wasn't worth fixing. Your energy company might have a rebate and take your old fridge and PAY YOU $50.

    So what is the problem with it? I have the same issue. You are a repair guy so please help us out!

  • @aaahandy
    @aaahandy 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    First of why couldn't you edit this so your voice can be heard. But I believe I heard you say this was a GE profile. And the reason your getting this type reaction is due to the control board. This unit has a variable speed D.C. Compressor. And the original control boards on these units had a flaw. If you go to Amazon you can find it and if you read the reviews you'll see where people was able to get a new one from GE for the cost of shipping. But that was a couple of years back. But just google your model number and the control board and you'll find the part number.

    • @matrixbikes
      @matrixbikes 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      AMAZON is shit. By reviews you'll not going to find out about OEM product recalls.

  • @PerrynBecky
    @PerrynBecky 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    You would get more thumbs up if you invested in a microphone. Maybe you might show people how to remove that ductwork on the back of the dryer to do a thorough cleaning since whoever owned that dryer never cleaned the lint trap before. That is a fire hazard begging for a house fire. Please show people how to properly clean the system or at least warn them to get it professionally serviced if you will only give enough info to show them how to throw fuses at the dryer instead of actually troubleshooting and cleaning the ducts.

    I checked the exhaust which is clean and replaced the fuse. The other components tested good. I blew the 309 degree fuse twice. What now?

  • @jruppert1975
    @jruppert1975 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have the same problem. I replaced fuse and left the vent hose unhooked for 1 load. After the 1 load was complete, the fuse was blown.

    • @BoiseApplianceRepair
      @BoiseApplianceRepair 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      HI Josh, please see my reply to Phil. If you had the vent unhooked and it still blew, chances are that the heater element coil is touching the inside of housing. If that is the case, it will overheat and blow the fuse. Please let me know. Rich

  • @philb707
    @philb707 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Replaced dryer vent hose, filter clean but I just blew 2 thermal fuses. Whats next in line to be checked?

    • @BoiseApplianceRepair
      @BoiseApplianceRepair 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Phil, first make sure your vent is not restricted. Put your hand and feel the air flow coming out of the house-vent (outside). You should feel the same amount of air flow as what is coming out of the back of the dryer. If it is restricted, it will blow your fuse. I see this most often. Second, if you have the same type of heater element as the one in the video, the inside coil sometimes touches the inside of the housing. You will need a meter to check it or, you can remove the heater and shine a flashlight inside to inspect. Hope this helps, please let me know. Rich

    I finally found my problem, I had power but after testing it my outlet was only pulling 80 volts, I ran an extension cord to another out let pulling 120 it fixed my problem. This after spending a lot of time and money replacing parts...

  • @briansee2387
    @briansee2387 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I will add this. If you spin the tub by hand it will turn on momentarily, then turn off. I thought this meant I had power., it doesn't. When I check the breaker (two floors away) it was tripped. So BASIC 101 spinning the tub doesn't mean you have power.
