2ND SAMPLER / BEAT MACHINE I EVER LEARNED ON.. THIS MACHINE MADE ME INTO A BEAST!! LONG NIGHTS... LOST MANY DOPE SAMPLES PUTTING MY FLOPPY DISKS NEXT TO SPEAKERS .. LOL ONE BEAT HAVE LIKE 5 FLOPPYS TO SAVE IT ON... HAHAHAH
Dope Video Shhhhesh i can't figure out this sequencer with all these track loops i get luck sometime and geta loop going i just wish the sequencer would just loop instead of the track
@@jussvicious hey thanks for responding you might not even still have this sampler i just got one about 2 weeks ago and the loop tracks are throwing me for a loop lol i got lucky twice so basicly i sample something i put it on the grey pad then i copy the sample to the other grey pads (since the purple ones don't loop ) i set the loop length to 8 (i tried 4 too) to get a 4 bar loop then play my chops .... some chops come early and loop too fast and it sounds a mess i did get it to work like twice but i don't know what i did right LOL
@@RudyrhythmzRudyrhythmz It sounds like you are doing everything correctly. My first thought was you were not setting the loop length...but you did that. I recently bought another Su700 for the low...I will make another video and perhaps it will reveal a step or action you might of missed.
Hello Fith Element, I have a question concerning Yamaha su700 - I just got my hands on the unit, so I’m still trying to get around the unit. I’m used to work on a Akai Mpc-2000 and there was something which annoys me on this unit. This “measure” feature, when you record on Yamaha Su700 Example: On my MPC-2000 I can set my first sequence to loop with a measure of 0.1->4.4. This Yamaha Su-700 just counting over this 4.4 and keeps counting up? :D
Fith Element Okay I found out that ”Loop Length” is set by >Track set > setup However, my measure numbers are still jumping over 4.4 to 5.1 and up…instead of jumping back to 1.1 :(
+Andreas Marco I was wondering this as well. I just got my SU700, but so far I think it's because each "scene" is just a composition of track mutes of all your parts essentially. Also, given that this thing was made to be marketed to DJ's, it kind of makes sense that it would have a measure indicator that keeps going. When you're on stage or performing, it's actually more valuable to see how long you've been jamming for, (IE it's been 6 minutes, I need to shift to the next song, etc) verses a looping measure system. This is all just speculation however. It is a bit weird getting used to it, but I think I can live with it. On the positive side, you'll start to learn exactly how many measures each minute is ;D
I really wanted one of these in1998 but I bought new a Roland sp808 with that amazing fx section found on the Mv8000. I don't need an su700 but nostalgia really bites, and it is the coolest looking dt sampler ever! Nice video tnxs
i like how u have the mpc and the su next to each other and give the comparison, i ve used a few samplers, im waiting for the su700 to come in the mail, once i saw the chop function and how easy that is and how u played the loops together and manipulated them, i cant till its comes.
@Koyotemohn It could be the amount of memory you have in your unit. As far as the low sample input that could be coming from the sample source not being turned up or the gain on the sample is not turned up enough.
So I have the Su700 and I took a break from the rs7000 and the mc808 last night to work with it. I noticed that the analog inputs were low.....really low. so I had to normalize it and I started hearing that low hum. the next thing is that it seems to take a long time to work with samples. Is it just me and my inexperience? Or is there an ideal amount of time for the su700 to process a sample. is it better to use .5-10 seconds? what is the optimal sample time for the su700?
Do you notice that when you put a sample on the loop pad it sounds slightly different when you press the play button and it loops? Am I missing something? Even after I normalize, I will check all of the settings again. However if you know what I am missing let me know. Good video.
lol i grew a grey hair watchin this, i did own both these machines, but now i own a maschine seems galaxys away just a gear junkie like the rest of yall peace
@IanCaneFire agreed. after looking at your setup, I would go for the S6000 from akai...it makes more sense due to price point....link that to an RS7000 and it is a most potent combination.

Hello, You have to set you "loop length". In the video I set mine at 8. You can only set loop length on the "composed loop pads". Hope that helps.

Posible combinar : yamaha su 700 + Akai mpc renaissance ??
Mpc renaissance como sampler?
Posible combinar el su 700 + un mpc renaissance
any video n how to sequence in this thing? is it pattern based?
Thanks! I still got her but she's collecting dust!
I had one of these 10 years ago... and YOU my friend are a beast on this joint !! NEVER get rid of it. !

This was just a track I made for the video-I will post another soon!
Can you send me a link with this track? it is great! You havent uploaded new videos with the su, do you still got it>?
Thanx a lot!
The Su700 has no internal sounds at all. You have to sample sounds into it.
Hi. Does the SU700 come programmed with drum sounds or do you have to sample/record all drum sounds before you can make a beat?
are the pads soft? how fast is choppin and time strechin? im thinkin about selling my asr-x to get su700
i like how u have the mpc and the su next to each other and give the comparison, i ve used a few samplers, im waiting for the su700 to come in the mail, once i saw the chop function and how easy that is and how u played the loops together and manipulated them, i cant till its comes.
ASR wins hands down! I have always been impressed with what comes out of that box. Thanx for checkin it out!
The Su700 is a monsta when it comes to choppin drums. Thanx for watching.
Dope chop up bro...Its almost like the original drummer is playing it differently. Nice sequencing.
This is just vicious bruh.lol....Dope beat. Can you compare the sound of the 700 to the asr-x pro? Is the Su-700 as warm and punchy as the asr-x pro?
Awesome B) Keep the SU vids coming :)
Thass fonkey. Straight and simple.

I love the realtime sample control in the su700. cot dam that is a badass demo.

@CORNERSTOW I too have moved on to the Mashine but the Su700 like the MPC will always be dear to my heart
lol i grew a grey hair watchin this, i did own both these machines, but now i own a maschine seems galaxys away just a gear junkie like the rest of yall peace
